Details On The Robert Pattinson “Details” Cover

From Gossip Cop

Message boards and Twitter have been all atwitter about Robert Pattinson’s cover shoot for the March issue of Details magazine.

People are claiming the issue features a partially clothed Pattinson photographed getting “a lap dance,” being “straddled” by a woman,” and even standing while a woman on her knees simulates oral sex on him.

Gossip Cop has the REAL details about what’s really in Details.

First off, Pattinson is FULLY clothed in all of the dozen or so photographs. He’s not even shirtless in any of the pictures.

And there are no straddling shots. No lap dance shots. No simulated oral sex shots. None of it.

While it’s true the models are nude in some pictures, remember that it’s Details magazine, so readers won’t be exposed to their details either.

Insiders tell Gossip Cop the photos are “super sexy,” yet “tasteful.” We also hear the pictures have an “Old Hollywood” feel to them. One source described the photos as embodying “1920s, 1930s Hollywood glamor.”

The Pattinson cover technically hits newsstands on February 23, but Gossip Cop is told some copies will be available a few days earlier.

  3. WHEW!

Thank goodness Rob's image is still safe

    ; )

  4. Oh my. That picture is so sexy. There is something just naturally alluring about Rob's eyes. When he focuses on the camera lens it is magic. I do think this photo looks old Hollywood and I love it.

  5. OMG, super sexy yet tasteful and old Hollywood glamor. He is going to be so hot and gorgeous in those pics.

Help, How can I get my hands on the Details?????????

    FILTM

  6. @Gwen, LMFAO at the sonic booms. Damn straight girlfriend!!

    @Suz, LMFAO too!!

  7. Although I would love to GIVE him a lapdance, I don't want to see anyone else give him one.

    WHEW!

  8. The image needs to remain "safe" through Remember Me. Can't be promoting a PG-13 movie with NC-17 shots, can we? ;-)

Maybe we'll get the outtakes with the disgraced pics before Bel Ami?! :P

    ReplyDelete
  9. well, happy birthday to me :D

Rob doesn't need nekkidity...not with that impregnating stare of his. He looks at you like that, your clothes drop off in a pool around your feet and you ovulate instantly.

If he were nekkid while doing that?

    We'd all explode!

  10. "Patience my young Padawan..."

    FILTM!

  11. RPG, I so agree!

I don't mind the idea behind the old hollywood look. I would be uncomfortable with vulgar. Embarressed for Rob, even. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  12. ok i really don't know why i'm disappointed,i really wanted to see Rob in these positions :x

    ReplyDelete
  13. sure i wouldn't like it to be vulgar at all, cause i already see nude pics that is really pretty and nothing vulgar

  14. Next Rob in magazine "Vogue" Power Issue, with Emilie de Ravin, photoshoot by Norman Jean Roy at Los Angeles County Museum of Art, throughout different exhibition spaces, "It's kind of edgy in a Vogue way... Emilie is wearing high fashion but it's like sort of tattered-looking. Rob is mainly in suits." ~ GossipCop

  15. Sexy, yet tasteful? I'll take what ever I can get. Old Hollywood, I think that's fitting. Rob belongs in the same category as Cary Grant.

I get down on my knees (easy NB's) and pray that there are outtakes. LOTS AND LOTS of outtakes. I will wallpaper my house with them.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Wow - the boy is growing up fast!

Does anyone know if this Magazine is available in the UK? I've never heard of it but I don't buy many mags.

Definitely going to try and get this though!

  17. CL,
Oh Geez, the out takes....good god just kill me now....

    ReplyDelete
  18. Thank God, I found a place that had the magazine :D
@RPG,I don't like the idea either (him getting it from some one else). Why they even put anyone else on his pics. Nobody gonna see them.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I.Can't.Wait.

Rob does NOT need to be naked to be sexy! He could do that dressed like an Eskimo. =)

It's not like I would say no to a no-shirt pic, but for me it's not a requirement! Now, no pants...that is non-negotiable-Pants off, (Bing) Rob! XD

(in case no one got that, HEAVY sarcasm. lol)

  20. This has caused all sorts of mayhem on various sites to the point where Rob has received DEATH THREATS? Unbelievable - all over a stupid bloody photoshoot...what sort of 'fans' does he have? If you don't like it DON'T LOOK AT IT!!!! Anyway seems it was all a storm in a teacup. And what does Kristin have to do with it. Are Rob's fans going to be up in arms when she does a raunchy photoshoot or a raunchy scene with another actor? I'm guessing not..Glad that the actual details of this photoshoot have come to light but there are some serious issues here like who has an agenda against Rob? This Delaney person is a troublemaker...she stirred the pot initially and the bleeting sheep followed her lead. Someone needs to take her aside somewhere nice and quiet and have a few words. Is this how it's going to be with Rob's career from now on...has any other actor had to put up with this sort of extreme nonscense from his fans? I despair....

    ReplyDelete
  21. THIS is what I hate about the internet and especially Twitter...shit, shit, shit flying everywhere and so many believe it. What's really scary about it, especially the Twitter, is the misuse of it. People can 'create' the story themselves and within seconds, send it flying around the world. The potential implications of this kind of UNCONTROLLED technology are truly frightening.

There are people out there right now who think that these pictures exist (half nude, performing simulated sex) and even if they never see them, they'll still believe that he did them and they just aren't releasing them. And so...opinions are being formed about him that just might not be true.

And for some reason, this just doesn't seem to bother people ('cept maybe the ones being spoken about). It bothers the holy hell out of me.

The magnitude of the instrusions into the lives of stars today and the lies being told about them, are something that the likes of Cary Grant or Katharine Hepburn couldn't have begun to dream of.

    We've come a long baby.

Okay. Stepping down off of soapbox. It just pisses me off, that's all. Sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Jesus..
    Woahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I am going to die...Robert full clothed but the others naked...mmmmmmmmm

    ReplyDelete
  23. One must never use those words in combination/ association with the words Robert Pattinson.. unless they want me to have heart failure.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Guess some forgot this is a Conde Nast publication, not Playgirl.

@lizzibee:Death threats? Seriously? Well, I'm glad the 'facts' are out there, then, to silence the spec.

    ReplyDelete
  25. ok, we all knew that Rob is a gentleman, he would never agree for those kind of pictures, he is beyond that! and besides he doesn't have to pump his ego by showing himself to the world!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Now all of that said...

I think such a photo shoot would be SMOKING HOT!!!
And that's because I find him highly sensual in the extreme and if they had him on his knees in front of a potted plant, I could probably find that arousing.

Depicting sexuality doesn't have to be vulgar. Although when it is, I think we all recognize it, don't we.

Don't want him vulgar, 'cause that's cheap. But sex oozing off of him? Oh yeah baby.

(course he could just sit there and scratch his chin and still have the sex just oozing off of him)

Damn...if I say oooooz one more time in reference to Rob, I'm gonna have a meltdown. And then what will we have? That's right. MORE OOOOOOOZ!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Posing for sexually charged photographs does not make you less of a gentlemen.

    Gentlemen have sex.

With all the talk around here by the Gentlewomen, I am a little surprised by some of the comments.

Trust Rob. I am (The)Pretty@ sure he knows exactly what he is doing.

    ReplyDelete
  28. LOL @Suz. You are correct, on all points. Well said.

    ReplyDelete
  29. lizzibee...

I climbed up on my soapbox there before I read your comment.

Death threats, huh? And we wonder why he's paranoid? I've sometimes wondered what kind of shit he gets in the fan mail. I heard he used to read it. Made me wonder where the 'getting stabbed' or 'the syringe full of aids' comments came from. I thought those were pretty 'specific' and he's said them more than once and I have wondered...

'baby, have you been threatened in your fan mail?'

Studios are suppose to vet the fan mail first but I wondered if Summit being a fledging studio with maybe not the personal to go through it all, just handed him bags of it. I think it was summer/fall 2008 (in the months before Twilight opened and his fame began to swallow him), when he had some time on his hands that he talked about reading shit on the internet and reading the fan mail.

Stay away from it Rob. IGNORE IT!!!

Fucking, scary world. Make that...fucking, scary people.

  30. So I go to lunch with a friend and vow to get out more, this is what I come back to?!

How am I going to concentrate on anything else until then?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Talk about mountains and molehills with regards to this photoshoot! So what if it was a simulated sex scene, providing it was tasteful and everyone agreed to it...that would be incredibly HOT!

I really don't know what part of ACTING people don't get! Grrr its his bloody job to kiss/pose with other girls (or guys!). And yet people get their knickers in an almighty twist about it.

Sorry for rant, I've been reading too many comments elsewhere about this. I can't wait for this photoshoot, hopefully the pics will be online, on HD ;)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Agree with you 100% Suz.

'Cause he's gonna do some 'sexually charged' stuff at times during this career of his. Hell, in just a couple of days, he's going to commence filming a VERY sexually charged story.

And I think he conducts himself as a fine gentleman. In public at least. God knows what's going on behind closed doors. LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  33. @Suz: lol. And gentlemen prefer blondes...brunettes, and redheads. Just ask Georges... ;)

    ReplyDelete
  34. @Nikola6
It is seriously scary out there....Ted C'd board is apparently full of absolute hatred towards Rob because he's 'disrespected Kristin' by doing this photoshoot...which actually turns out according to Gossip Cop to be in the old school Hollywood style...suits me...wonderful..but look at the angst and drama that the stupid, dramatic, untrue picture was created by this ridiculous Delaney person and Tec C...seriously something needs to be said to these people when they instigate a situation where delusional fanatics are going to vent their feelings by issuing death threats....this is NO JOKE people. I wonder sometimes if Rob is psychic - he has said in the past how worried, concerned he is that someone out there would take a shot at him...God knows we know it's possible. I think he has had threats...hence the security...no one will have a chance of getting anywhere near him from now on I think. Poor lad....bet he didn't think it would all come down to this...

    ReplyDelete
  35. Acconati...

I think the problem here is, these books and films have produced a VERY STRANGE fandom. For some the lines between reality and fantasy have been so blurred between the fictional characters (E&B) and their real life counter parts (R&K) that in their minds, they honestly cannot seperate them anymore. They want Rob and Kristen TO BE Edward and Bella. Then there's the other half who hate her guts and what was the word that Kristen used? COVET!!! They covet him. That is a very old word and powerful word. And she is right.

I don't know that I've ever seen anything like it. Or maybe it's just that this kind of thing has always been there, but now with the technology and people being able to give voice to it, it has somehow taken on a weird sort of legitimacy.

I don't know. What I do know is. If I were either of them and there really is a romantic relationship between them, I wouldn't give it up either.

We have no idea of the kind of threats that they've been subject to.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Is that an older picture, it looks like one I've seen before?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hey guys,

I would just like to point out that WE never "publicly" said he was going to have tasteless photos in the magazine, we never said it was going to be simulating sex etc etc.

I have just pointed that out this morning and Suz can attest to that, I told her that it was very irresponsible that some people spread these rumors, tweeted it to masses.

    End of PSA :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. The hell with "old Hollywood" and tasteful, I want straddling shots, lap dance shots, and simulated oral sex shots!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Oh and Ted's board is crazy...they don't need a reason to go crazy :)) They are crazy just for being in that board :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. I didn't say anything about sexually charged photographs, I was reffering to lame, shallow, naked, oily men photos.

  42. lizzibee...

I don't think there's going to be any control or policeing of the internet. The horses have been let out of the corral and they're running wild and there's no way to reign them back in. In fact, it's only going to get worse. Today were twittering and tomorrow? Who the hell knows? You know that old cliche about the inmates taking over the asylum? Nothing could describe the internet/twitter better than that statement.

Problem is, we set this thing up before we knew what it was and now it's become a runaway train speeding down tracks that I fear, are derailed.

And what makes it all work? The ANONIMITY (sp?) of it all. Imagine if this had been set up from the beginning that we had to somehow identify ourselves first before commenting; putting our own picture up, using our own names, something. How many of us would say the things we do if we knew that those who know us, could see it? Had the internet been set up that way from the beginning, it would have never taken off.

It's funny. People want their own privacy, but they're perfectly willing to take it away from someone else. And I hate that...'well they asked for it by going into acting.' BULLSHIT!!! A person should be able to express their talents without having their guts ripped open so the world can watch their insides spill out onto the floor. And I know, there are alot of fame whores out there who want it. But there are alot who don't. And our sweet boy here is one of those. He never wanted or sought this for his life.

Allright. Enough. Sorry. But 'death threats' got me going.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Oh I didn't know gentlemen have sex??? Really????
    Once again
    "Gentlewoman"

    ReplyDelete
  44. Since I posted before I read the other comments, so I have more to add. First, I still want those raunchy sex shots! Second, well, it just kind of annoys me when people say Rob wouldn't do this or that because he's too nice, or a gentleman, or whatever. WE DON'T KNOW what Rob would do, because WE DON'T KNOW ROB. We know his public persona, which is a big difference. He's said in interviews he always wants to decide how he's percieved, so the Rob we "know" is the Rob that he wants us to think he is, it may have nothing to do with reality. Third, if people didn't decide what he's really like without knowing him, than he wouldn't be getting death threats (seriously? reality a problem for you people?) from crazies who have decided that Kristin & Rob are totes-true-love-forever-and-nothing-will-ever-pull-them-apart-and-butterflies-and-fairies-throw-rose-petals-down-on-them-while-they-sleep.

I know everybody wants him to be a really great guy (me too!) but chances are he's a normal horny guy in his 20s who doesn't mind some sleeze. And remember, he hasn't had a lot of girlfriends, which kind of makes me think that he's not such a great boyfriend, but I don't KNOW, it's just an opinion.

  45. What does it mean that we won't be exposed to the nudity, because it is details? or did I misunderstand?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Amen Gozde...they are lunatics over there!I stopped reading it a long time ago...on your recommendation actually because it used to upset me...I actually found myself crying once or twice over the sick shit over there...maybe I'm sensitive but I don't condone hatred on any level!I come here now daily for my rob news because you guys provide genuine stories without the nasty spin present elsewhere!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I WASN'T SAYING THAT! NOTHING OF ALL THAT!
    Once again misunderstood!
    I'm out!

    ReplyDelete
  48. And BTW...

My comments about saying things on the internet if we knew had to identify ourselves first?

I wasn't referring to the silly comments that we make around here about Rob. Anybody with a brain could see that this is all fun and games and that we adore and respect him and that alot of us would run into a burning building to drag him out. I'm talking about those who spread mean, viscious, nasty lies and filth about others.

We have nothing to be ashamed of here. Were just having fun and more importantly, were not out to hurt anyone.

    ReplyDelete
  49. @nik - well put!! I liked it so much it was worth repeating:

"It's funny. People want their own privacy, but they're perfectly willing to take it away from someone else. And I hate that...'well they asked for it by going into acting.' BULLSHIT!!! A person should be able to express their talents without having their guts ripped open so the world can watch their insides spill out onto the floor. 50. @Godze
I agree Ted C's board IS CRAZY....I don't understand why there isn't some sort of line drawn up where the more extreme comments are vetted and not published. Maybe most of these silly, inanane comments are made by little girls who have a lot of growing up to do and don't really have a clue as to what they're saying.....BUT....therein lies ONE NUTTER....just waiting their chance. If TedC/E Online whatever were a responsible, neutral site they would take a more middle ground.....but they don't....and THAT seriously pisses me off....

  51. I'm bummed. I was excited for the straddeling photos. I'm not too worried though. Details never disappoints.

  55. So can I just say that someone is going to need to plan my burial. I will spontaneously combust after Remember Me and Details and then if any pics of Bel Ami's shooting comes out. Dear God, I will be ash.

How is it possible to always look so damn good Rob? Seriously, you need to bottle that sh* and sell it.

I agree none of us know what Rob would or would not do b/c we no nothing about him other than what we have been presented in the Media. He's young ladies. I mean think of what we were doing at 23.......need I say more. Oh to be 23 again... ok enought got to back to RL. Gozde thanks for posting this and not posting all the twitter mania sh* that erupted earlier today. :)

    ReplyDelete
  56. I read some of those death threat comments and it really upset me. I could NOT believe anyone would say such things! Even if he does ever do vulgar photo shoots...who cares? Personally I'd love to see him do Playgirl hehe. But I was very scared for him when I read those things. I wanted to tell all those idiots to shut their mouths. This is just the kind of thing that would make that poor boy paranoid. I really am scared for him. There's some crazy people out there. Whatever he does, however he poses for a magazine..it would be HOT...and I'm a grown woman and "get it". I would say "You go Rob..." Those comments must have been made by some very young immature girls.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Cherri yes its an old shoot.

And sorry for all the grammatical and spelling errors above. I was typing way to fast.

    ReplyDelete
  58. @ nik - yeah you're right, there does seem to be some problem isolating the characters from the actors, not helped by R&K being close in real life too I guess (which is crazy in itself).

There's just so much vicious hate towards them, from people who've never met and really don't know much about them (as none of us do), it's just mind-blowing. I've never looked into the celeb world like this before, and it's been a hell of an eye-opener. Humans, as a species, are just fucked up sometimes.

    ReplyDelete
  59. True. None of us knows Rob or what he's like behind closed doors. And yes, a public image is certainly put forth, however...I've been around Hollywood most of my life and I can spot a 'put together phony' at 100 paces and Rob Pattinson just doesn't come across that way. He feels authentic to me; a lovely and yes, flawed man.

    As for the girlfriend thing...

Wasn't he with Nina Shubert for three years, from age 18 to 21? My assumption was that his relationship with Nina ended after he came to America to audtion for Twilight and met Kristen. Who he then 'supposedly' pined away for, for a year and a half before...well...whatever.

He's always come across as a relationship type of guy to me. Not that he can't be a hound at times I suppose. He is afterall, only 23.

He's just never struck me as 'Leo' type, chasing after all the supermodels and sleeping with alot of Hollywood actresses just because he can. Oh yeah, Leo nailed most of them, the actresses I mean. Including trysts with Sharon Stone and Demi Moore that the public never knew about. He was the 'new kid in town' and took full advantage.

My impression of Rob is that he didn't. 'Course they were raised differently. Leo was raised by hippies on the streets of Hollywood and Rob obviously...was not.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I think Gossip Cop just saved my arteries... I don't think I would have survived if the photoshoot had been really involving sex simulations with Rob. I would have positively crumpled to the ground and passed away (not just "out")!

I like the concept of "old Hollywood"! And I think my arteries are still in danger, although (maybe) not facing certain death! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  64. @Fae, ITA with you. Rob isn't going to do any tasteless pics. Hate the "lame, shallow, naked, oily men" pics. A photo can be very sexual without showing everything. Sometimes a look can be enough and Rob can do that. He doesn't need to be naked but when he decides to do it that would be i good taste too. He is not that kind of an actor that wants to sell himself no matter what.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Yeah, were a fucked up species allright. Self centered and violent. We may have developed civilized societies and live in nice dwellings and eat with utensils now, but were not that far removed from our primitive roots. You take away our comforts; water, food, shelter, gas, electricity, transportation and money and see how fast we would revert. Some of us would be slaughtering each other within hours. And yes, some would not.

Can you imagine if an alien race showed up, deciding whether to destroy us or leave us be, and they read the internet?

They'd blow us to fucking hell and back saying...'they weren't worth teaching or saving'.

    ReplyDelete
  66. This still sounds hot. Super sexy, tasteful and Old Hollywood is win-win. This may be one of his best photo shoots yet. Can't wait to see these pics. Lick, slurp and save.

  67. Lizziebee - Robsten fans are only interested in Rob whilst he's connected with Kristen. They shouldn't even pretend to be fans of 'Rob' but they like to convince themselves otherwise.

I was soooooooooo looking forward to a sleazy photoshoot too !!!! Still, it will be super sexy anyway. Yum !

  68. Okay. I need to go find something funny somewhere because I am depressing the hell out of myself.

I do so apologize. I swear, it was the 'death threat' thing that set me off.

    I'll be good.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Must add my 2 cents here.

This web site and blog would not work if not for the anonymity of it. We all say raunchy things that we don't normally say, I do anyway. I never use the F*** word aloud ever. Never really heard it much til Eddie Murphy's Beverly Hills Cop movies. Then it was embarrassing to me. (Hides head.) Its used a lot here too, but no longer bothers me like it did before.

As Godze mentioned earlier, they don't go in for the bad site stuff on here. This is a wonderful site so that the rest of us Rob Obsessed people can meet and express our views on him and share our lives. Great discussions, just like a gathering at home to me anyway....it feels like family here.

There are so many diverse ideas expressed here that I wouldn't have a chance of ever hearing in our little town in Ohio. This is an international location, where all countries join together. Isn't that the real purpose of the internet. It is to me anyway. And English seems to be the international language.

Anyway, love and hugs to all who come here.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Yanno. I can't tell you how many times I've seen a photo shoot with him and think...that's it. These are the greatest photos I've ever seen of him. It can't get any better than this...

    Rome Rob
    Vanity Fair 2008
    Rolling Stone outtakes 2008
    Vanity Fair 2009

And then...the little shit goes and does another one that's better than anything that's come before. And he's only 23. Wait until he's in his 30's and 40's. And that's 'cause alot of men get better with age; Clooney, Depp, Jackman. So much more gorgeous in their 40's than they ever were in their 20's. And I suspect, like them, Rob is only going to get better. With that bone structure? He's going to age like a dream.

    God help us all.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Read YouTube comments under Rob's video's. These nuts cannot serperate reality from fiction at all.

But I must admit, Rob is my Edward.... I feel like Stephenie's description of how Bella saw Edward and that's how I feel about Rob. He is so gorgeous and I am so plain. Sigh.... all I can do is fantasize a life with him. tearing up here.

But at least I know its Rob Pattinson, an actor playing a part in a movie. I am not deluded at all.... Bel Ami is going to kill us all. Especially after reading comments from today. OMG

We need the real sexy Rob. We'll all melt away in oblivion.

Best.Comment.Ever! You are so right. But I don't know that my heart can take another 20-30 years of Rob hotness and it multiplying at that.

  82. Ok about me being a "gentlewoman".
First of all I didn't know what kind of magazine "Deatails" is! So I was mentioning "oily men-sell me, sell me pictures"!
Second, God forbid I think of Rob as some kind of saint! Of course he's horny and stuff, he should be, if he was my boyfriend I'd want him to be that way! :) He's 23! I don't know him at all, but I still think he's wonderful in so many ways, he's not corrupted yet, and hope he'll never be! It seems to me that with him what you see is what you get, I don't think he's putting some kind of mask. And I'm glad he doesn't want to reveal his privacy to the public, he DOESN'T HAVE TO!!! He is just a normal, well amazing, young man who's just known to the world, and if I was in his position I would be paranoid and scared too. And I would be the first who would stand in his deffence, to those who sent him death threats (wtf), I'd send them back, because those are lunatics who deserve the same treatment for sending threats to the person who's done nothing wrong to them!
    Peace!

why, oh why on earth there isn't GQ on this list ???

    ReplyDelete
  84. I must be a prude because I don't think I want to see a cover where Rob is simulating sex. I know I am in the minority here. What I think is sexy is what you don't see, just enough to tease you then have your imagination run wild. IMHO sexuality now a days is just out there, no mystique. Having said that I think the Detail cover is going to be very cool!

  86. To all the Brits - not to worry. You will have plenty of material in the UK. When is the Guardian piece coming out? ;)

Looking forward to the Bel Ami promo and photoshoots too: Rob and his five lovelies...

    ReplyDelete
  87. Ooops Margot...

    Forgot the GQ photo shoot.

I swear to god, as the years go by, I'm gonna go broke buying this kid's magazines (just the legitimate ones though, no tabloid shit).

Stop it Rob. Just stop it!!!

What am I saying? Don't you dare stop it. So what if I don't have money left over to eat or pay the rent?

I'll just sit in the park, wrapped in a blanket, scrounging through garbage cans while staring at my magazines and...

    I WILL SURVIVE!!!

    ReplyDelete
  88. I'm actually disappointed that the Details shoot won't be more steamy and sexed. I think he needs to move into a more adult audience to keep his career moving forward.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Rob's fans had better get used to this kind of shoot. He's growing up, he's not going to be the hesitant Edward Cullen for ever, he's a sexy guy,he's going to get sexy parts in movies.

Let him develop his skills and watch him go!

    ReplyDelete
  90. Rob needs to do what HE feels himself needing and wanting to do, within HIS comfort zone (as long as it is legal, ethical, and neither repugnant nor offensive nor destructive nor self-destructive), not what others want, not what the industry wants or demands, not what the usual plan is for 'success.'
I bet he will have plenty of fans and admirers and opportunities and work, even if he does not increase and expose the steam and the sex in an overt way.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Thank God no lap dancers or simulated oral sex. Adam's was hard to take and was already etched into my brain, I think I wouldn't be able to take it if that was Rob.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Well, half-naked Ron would have been nice too...

Anyway, these pictures will be damn sexy and I can´t wait to see them!!!

    ReplyDelete
  93. I've long suspected that once he leaves Edward Cullen behind, alot of the 'fans' will drop off because they can only 'see' him as Edward. That's all they want from him.

What would some of them do if Rob took on the role of a serial killer/rapist where he had to shave his head, gain 40 lbs. and stain his teeth? It could happen.

I also suspect that he might in fact -on occasion- seek out those roles in which he can cover up that legendary beauty of his. The Edward 'nuts' of course would want no part of that. But what about the rest of us?

Are we truly fans of the 'actor' and want to see him in the kinds of roles that can test and stretch his talents? Or do we just want him to be gorgeous Rob, fulfilling all of our fantasies? I want both. And I think he can give us both.

    ReplyDelete
  94. @nik, I will survive. God that song just exploded in my head!

And everyone else on here, I will say it again and again.

TRUST ROB TO DO THE RIGHT THING FOR HIMSELF!

He has and always will. No matter where he goes or what he does,
    Love him to death.

  96. I like to imagine that Rob is a regular guy, who loves his work and does what he wants to do. I love him the way he seems to be he is and wants to be: drinking, smoking, naked, not naked. It is Robert Pattinson and it is enough for me. Live and let him live.
I suppose it is not easy being famous like he is. So much jealous, but I suppose there is so much more love, affection, support from his family, friends and real fans.
Sometimes when I write here I like to imagine that Rob may read the posts and all our comments and he will realize how beloved he is for all of us.
I like to imagine he will smile and have a lot of fun like we do.
Details mag, Vogue mag... I love all his photoshoots. People who do not like him, bad for them. They do not know what they are loosing. Poor people!!!!!

What Guardian piece? Have I missed something?

    ReplyDelete
  98. @ nicola6 again :))

the case of "Monster" and Oscar for beautiful Charlize Theron is very convincing, isn't it ?

but ... what would be waste of beauty if Rob transformed into some toothless bald pimply dwarf ... even for Oscar ... just sayin'

    ReplyDelete
  99. I admit it, I might not want to see Rob if he's bald & fat, but that doesn't mean I'm not still a fan. I haven't seen Little Ashes because that moustache just turns me off so much. I still like Rob though, & my interest hasn't waned any.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Nikola--I think you are only partly right: True, some fans, probably the teens, are stuck on him being Edward.
ON the other hand, many of us who are not teens, who admire him and care about him, do so not only for his acting ability, but because of the charming personality he has let shine forth. And while it is always possible that, especially because he is a good actor already, he is acting even in his interviews and he is G-d forbid actually a deranged serial killer waiting for everyone to be duped enough so he can strike, I highly doubt it. And because we are functioning with the premise that he is a talented, intelligent, sensitive, charming, 'adorkable' guy, certain actions don't fit within that premise. That doesn't mean he isn't capable of playing monsters, but that it might be difficult for us to see him like that. Remember what I said the other night about Ralph Fiennes in Schindler's List? It was very difficult to see him again until I was able to have a catharsis of sorts by seeing him in Sunshine.
For me personally, vis a vis Rob, there is also the issue of what characters inhabiting him will do to himself, especially if he does not give himself a few monhts after each filming. For stars who just turn on the emotions for the character and then leave at the end of the day, it isn't a problem; for real actors who let the character inhabit them, who let them breathe, who feel the character's emotions, etc, that all leaves its mark. (I actually wrote a song about that a long time ago, when I was studying the effects of people acting in their lives-- not just actors. But that's another story). Anyway-- there are those of us fans who certainly do want Rob to expand his skills and repertoire, but that doesn't mean that for us, for Rob, anything goes.

Here comes the NB in me....
I want to be lying on top of him and I want to replace his hand with mine so I can grip his hair like that...as always the chest hair and the stubble make me weep and moist, but his eyes in this picture see right through me.

    FILTM!

    ReplyDelete
  104. Don't think Rob would ever do any shoots that were distastefully done. The pics might be suggestive to the max, sexy, sensual, humorous or whatev, but never distasteful. Besides, Rob always meets at least one of these descriptions in any pic as far as I'm concerned. Clothes or no clothes.
Won't cry if he's shirtless w/nice treasure trail going on, though!!!!

    Love you, Rob!!!

    ReplyDelete
  105. I hear ya Margot...

It would take some getting used to, seeing him in a role say like...hmmm...Robert DiNiro in Cape Fear or Ralph Fiennes in Schindler's List. 'Cause god knows, I like to sit here and drool over him as an objectified sex god too. However...I'm in love with talent. THAT is what I worship. And I want to see him tackle some roles like this; dark and yes, evil. Not all the time, but just enough to 'goose' things up a bit.

But I am curious as to how others here feel about this?

    ReplyDelete
  106. @lizzibee: oops...should not be rumour-mongering. Apologies. Waving that away. However, the interview for The Sunday Times, I think, was done, yes? That's a start.. :)

  107. Trust Rob to do the right thing for himself. We've enjoyed him so far. What would change that???????

I really love this man, more than I can say. I am a follower for life.

Hasn't the past 5 years told you so? Ladies, please. Believe in him like I do. Just trust him. I have and will.

  108. Oh Margot...

How did I miss this in your post? If the 6'1" Rob Pattinson ever gets cast as a dwarf, I'm there baby.

And if he couldn't win the Oscar for THAT, then he never will win the fucker. LOL!

  112. Nikola-- n case my last posting did not answer your question (what we feel about it)I am not in love with talent. There are a lot of talented even intelligent yet horribly deranged abusive SOBs out there (I married 2 of them). I am impressed by talent, but I am far more impressed with personality and presence, and that is what Rob exudes, as far as myself is concerned, and that personality, that charm, that human-ness, that 'chein' (I don't know the exact English word for it, so I am just putting it out there for whomever understands!) is stronger and brighter than anything have seen from any other actor, artist, etc except maybe Leonard Cohen, and it's taken him a while to get there; Bobby Long seems to exude it as well but not as brightly yet.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Okay then. Some of you have answered the question pretty much the way I thought. Thank you.
I suppose because I was raised -in part- by an actor and I used to dabble myself, I can seperate the actor from the role. Ralph Fiennes, Robert DiNiro and Charlize Theron are not murderers, however, they have all portrayed them on screen. Robert Downey Jr. is not a black man. Heath Ledger wasn't gay, etc.

And I don't know how it got misconstrued (sp?) that I thought Rob might be a serial killer waiting to pounce? Did I get that right? I just meant that he might take on a role like that some day. Maybe not. I don't know.

For the record. I do not believe that Robert Pattinson is a killer or an abuser of women on the lurk.

Okay. I lied. I do think he's a killer. Every damn time I come on this blog and look at yet another pic of him...he kills me some more.

    KILLER! KILLER! KILLER!

(and that should in no way be taken as a criticism)

    ReplyDelete
  114. I just wonder how long I'm going to just sit here and talk about him without actually trying to do something about meeting him. I would be more comfortable failing that not knowing.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Nikola--I didn't think you thought of Rob that way; was just tryng to clarify the way I see things, and the way I suspect many feel.

    ReplyDelete
  116. @CL
lol! Sounds like a good plan to me! Just look at all that sexy hair everywhere on his sexy bod. Sexiest eyes ever and lips made for the most tender (I mean a passionate, crushing, never want it to end)kiss. Really, which kiss would be more erotic~tender or passionate??? Hell, I'd be happy with a peck on the cheek!

    FILTM

    ReplyDelete
  117. @nikola yes, Rob is a notorious killer of course, look how many women he killed! ;) more than Ted Bundy himself!

    ReplyDelete
  118. I guess I just come at this from a different perspective Solas as my experiences have been different from yours. Well, let's face it, we all bring a different perspective to the proceedings and one person's perspective isn't any greater than another's. Just different.

It will be interesting though to see as the years unfold how his fan base shifts and changes if...IF he ends up disappointing people because of what they have PROJECTED on to him. If he fails to meet the expectations (unrealistic ones in my opinion) that are being placed upon him.

I mean would people really have to take years from him and his films to get over the trauma of seeing him play a murderous Nazi in a movie? Or a child abuser? Or whatever might offend their sensibilities? I mean, I hate Nazis, but I love Ralph Fiennes as an actor and I haven't missed one of his films.

And one thing I can say with quite a bit of assurance and that is, Rob ain't gonna be playing the white knighted hero every time up to bat. I would imagine he'd be bored out of his mind at such a thought and he'd probably give up acting if that is all that was made available to him.

My god...Georges Deroy is a bastard. What he did to Virginie was unforgiveable.

    Anyway...

    ReplyDelete
  119. Perhaps because I was not raised in the industry at all, and even had less experience watching movies than most in the modern western world, and/or because I was strange even as a child and loved going into the worlds that books and movies took me, the actors were not actors for me, but they became (at least if they were good enough) the characters, part of the world that i visited for the time of the movie. When I was little, it was confusing--I remember seeing Hailey Mills in Pollyanna, which I positively loved (and do, to t his day) and then seeing her in Parent Trap, and then in Chalk Garden, and I remember asking-- how did she get from being in Pollyanna's world to this world, etc? Meaning, i was in the world of the movie yet soon saw her as Pollyanna playing the twins, playing the disturbed child, etc. As I've said before, Daniel dayLewis (DDL) was the first actor whose acting blew me away, where he WAS the character in each movie, where I wasn't thinking= oh there's DDL playng Hawkeye, there's DDL playing Christy Brown, etc. He BECAME who he played. It was--wow==there's hawkeye! wow--there's Christy Brown! etc. And this is what is impressing me about Rob's acting talent so far. I realize this is neither an informed nor sophisticated way of looking at it, but it is how I see things, and perhaps why I see it differently from you, Nik.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Okay Solas. I didn't catch your post before my last post. Something about thinking him a deranged person or something...

Shit. I don't even know what I'm saying anymore.

Which would probably be a good indication to...

    SHUT THE HELL UP!!!

    ReplyDelete
  121. I just won't go see the movie if I thought it would color my opinion of him.

    ReplyDelete
  122. OMG!!!! LOVE this picture. His eyes just melt me. I can't even tell you how many times I've looked at this picture today!!! Where can I get that magazine when it comes out?

    ReplyDelete
  123. Like I said Solas...

Just different perspectives and one isn't better than another. Just different.

    No worries dear.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Nk-if Rob played a character i couldn't handle, at least I have dvds of himself in other roles to cleanse that from my mind. I didn't have anything of Ralph Fiennes at the time his portrayal freaked me out. And it wasn't just that he played a nazi, but that his acting made it clear, like Leonard Cohen also made clear in a poem in a long time ago, that the nazis did not have claws and fangs and bulging monstrous eyeballs, but that their cruelty and evil could exist even in the appearance of normalcy, even in someone who otherwise who was capable of loving.
That said, I read that Peter Strauss would not play a nazi, at least when his parents were alive, because they lived the horrors of those times, and it would be painful for them. Some things are just painful for some of us to see.
But as i said, at least I have dvds of Rob in other films, now.

    ReplyDelete
  125. I mean-- most roles couldn't be much worse than Jersey Shore Rob ( I know--ewwwww!!!) so we had to look at other pictures to cleanse our minds of that.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Nik-- you were referring to this: 'ON the other hand, many of us who are not teens, who admire him and care about him, do so not only for his acting ability, but because of the charming personality he has let shine forth. And while it is always possible that, especially because he is a good actor already, he is acting even in his interviews and he is G-d forbid actually a deranged serial killer waiting for everyone to be duped enough so he can strike, I highly doubt it.'
I meant that for those who say we don't really know him and we are perhaps making him to be this sweet nice guy when maybe he isn.t.
We don't accept blindly the premise that he is a sweetypie; we concluded it from watching and listening.

    ReplyDelete
  127. I Hope and I Believe that Rob is much more than stunning looks, reading books, well mannered and nice boy (man ?). I do Believe he's talented but ... it takes two to tango. I mean ... he needs roles crafted to let him show talent, well carefully chosen to build career ... So for example Titanic yes, but Avatar no. That sort of choice is fundamental ... and the rest of the cast, The Names. I'm afraid talent itself isn't enough in Hollywood.

    ReplyDelete
  128. I love to see Robert in different rolls. He doesn't have to play the good guy all the time. If he decides to play a psychopath I'll still watch the movie. It is interesting to see him his performance. Playing those roll is much harder then playing Edward or Tyler.
Any way I'm going to love him no matter what and yes. He is a killer ;)He kills me often.

    ReplyDelete
  129. nikola 6

"But I am curious as to how others here feel about this?"

well, i want to see Rob playing "bad" characters (i mean murderers or something like that, like you said) but only if the movie is good and that character teach us something. Buufff i know i explain myself very bad...i'm going to clarify it with an example: Edward Norton played a nazi in American History X, but that character teach us something good, so i like it. I think we need "bad" characters to understand the importance of the good ones.

Moreover, there are bad people in real life and movies has to show that, we can't ignore them, in my opinion

    ReplyDelete
  130. Movies with sick demonic charaters isn't entertaining for me it doesn't matter who's in them.

    ReplyDelete
  131. i also think that he needs to show us all of his talent playing different roles

Being a good actor is being able to play someone different from you, i think

    ReplyDelete
  132. that should have been -aren't entertaining to me. Some things have happened to me in the past and it isn't healthy for me to expose myself needlessly. I don't need all fairies and snowcones I just have my limits like anyone else.

    ReplyDelete
  133. True Solas...

Behind closed doors, he could be the nastiest little prick in 8 states. I don't think so. But it is possible.

    And Cherri...

You said you want to really meet him? Know him? Well you're not gonna do that at a fan event. Got any talent? Work on it and go get a job in the industry. 'Fraid you're gonna have to go to his playground now because his fame has taken him from ours.

Meaning, the odds of running into him at the local A&P are now pretty much slim and none. And if you did, he'd most likely see you as a fan. Whereas if you worked in his industry (in any capacity; a secretary, production assistant, anything), then he'd see you as someone on the 'inside' and therefore much more approachable.

And I'm not saying that none of us aren't good enough for him. Something I said some time back got misinterpreted as that. NO! For all I know, he isn't good enough for anyone of us here. I don't know the man. And yeah, I suppose he could meet someone in the frozen foods section, fall madly in love, whisk her away and have a dozen sex haired babies with her. Not likely. But...possible.

You wanna know him? Go to work where he works...in the movies.

    ReplyDelete
  134. EstGroZo (did I get that right?)

You expressed yourself brilliantly. I don't want to see him doing ANYTHING gratuitously or for shock value either. If he's gonna play bad, then I want him to 'get his' and hopefully, for the audience to learn something about human behavior along the way. Because at it's core, that is what acting is really all about.

Holding a mirror up to the audience to show them, themselves or holding up a window so they can peek in at someone else.

And I understand what you're saying Cherri. I'm a victim of child abuse (as so many have been) and I've been raped. I don't like watching either depicted on screen, but I do. It actually helps me to face down my fears.

But I understand that we all have our own ways of coping.

    ReplyDelete
  135. I understand what your saying about meeting him. And I'm not even refering to anytime soon. Someday somehow if I'm lucky and my life provides me with the opportunity. It doesn't hurt to dream alittle, sometimes saying something outloud is what sets things in motion. Four years ago no one would have ever believed I would go to medical school (forever the party girl) but I'm on my way.

    ReplyDelete
  139. He's an actor. If he's not prepared to explore the possibilities of human behaviour and choice, the dark and light within, he won't become a better one. From the time of the Greeks that's been the role. As WS said: the mirror for our nature. Other than that, I guess he'll choose what interests him.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Nikola--thank you for sharing that. It is interesting-- My chldren and I were also abused but I cannot bare to see it, even in real life, and work to eliminate abuse of others, and ameliorate the effects, every single day.
Perhpas becuase you were raised with the film industry, you can work it out through film; I worked out some through songs that I wrote, some through stories that i wrote, and some through my work in the fields of pyschology and education. My kids have not dealt with it effectively yet, but we work on it.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Well, Nikola said it already and I guess I shouldn't paraphrase Will: 'to hold the mirror up to nature.' lol

    ReplyDelete
  142. Last comment as I'm buttin' in anyway. Actors do turn down roles if they can't deal with the material. "Bastard Out of Carolina," which was a very moving and harrowing account of abuse, was turned down by an actor who did not want to portray the abuser. I'm not saying he should have made himself play it either - we all have our limits.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Oh wow Cherri...

You're going to medical school? That is amazing. You're actually going to make a difference in this world. Doctors do that you know (and yeah, I'm talking to you Solas). My sister is a NICU nurse and everyday she gets to save tiny little lives. And you're not being a downer at all. And yes, giving voice to a dream is important 'cause if you can't dream it, then how the hell is it gonna happen?

    And Solas...
I got through it. Well. As much as one can. And I didn't say that to elicit symphathy (sp?) or anything.
I have a healthy additude towards sex; I can talk about it (obviously), think about, have had two loving relationships since and I don't hate men. I love them. I just ran into a bad one.

That's life; the good and bad and every experience (even the bad ones) help to create the person we are.

Gosh. We are so OT here (and alot of it my fault). So sorry. And RPG...I really am going to make it over to your blog. It's just that I stop here first and get to yammering and well...yanno.

  144. nikola6

you're right, maybe that kind of movies are like a "therapy" for someone (but i think i'm going to shut up right now because i've never been abused and i don't want to say nothing that may hurt someone...)

i like films about racism, for instance, because they teach us a lesson: we don't have to tolerate it because it's against human dignity. And, to make that movies, there has to be actors who play bad people.

    ReplyDelete
  145. sorry i think it's "there HAVE to be" (am i wrong?? need to improve my english...)

    ReplyDelete
  146. Absolutely AP...

If there's a role you cannot or have no desire to tackle, then walk away. And that doesn't make one less of an actor. Like you said, we've all got our limits.

But as I said the other day, alot of actors will take on those roles that frighten them or disturb them or whatever. Some see it as a challenge. And some have said that taking on such roles has been cathartic for them.

And others I'm guessing have been pretty messed up by some of the roles they've taken on. Martin Sheen had a heart attack and nearly died of the emotional strain he put on himself while making Apocalypse Now.

They can be a screwy bunch those actors. God love 'em.

I have read to omany times that actors end up on drugs or drinking and/or smoking too much, as ways to cope not just with fame and money, but also with the illusions they feel they have to maintain, and also with the ghosts of the characters remaining in their brains.

    Going to watch your video....

  152. Ok - really last. Some discussing film might be interested - if in NYC - in attending the Script to Screen conference, March 20& 21. Catherine Hardwicke will be one of the panelists. There are other worthwhile screenwriters attending also. Now I go.:)

  153. All true Solas. My dad worked on that picture and he said it was awful what happened to Sheen. Took him quite some time to recover from it all; both physically and emotionally.

And true again about actors and substance abuse. Some of the greatest actors in history were drunks; Spencer Tracy, Jack Lemmon, Richard Burton, Peter O'Toole to name just a very few. I could spend the next twelve hours typing out the names.

To be honest, I worry 'just a bit' about Rob in this way. I know, he's young and kids drink alot when they're young. But if it continues...he could end up with a problem. With a name like Pattinson, you have to know that the Irish is running through his veins and I don't know what it is about my people; but my god, do we have the 'thrist.'

My hope is that as he gets older and especially when he becomes a father, he'll cut back. And since he's said he wants to be a young father, maybe it'll be sooner rather than later.

  154. Me too. Gotta scoot. Might try to come back latah.

And I like these 'chats.' And that's what I think these threads can be. Like a real conversation between people, they go round and round and back and forth. Just like actual people, actually talking.

  155. Annie - Thank you!!!!

  165. Yikes, it really did get out there, but I like it. I have been scribbling notes to the comments which resonated for me (like anyone cares).

@Marna, Rob had no "public persona" when this all began, obvious from Twi interviews, he was feeling his way in all interviews by just being himself and answering everything honestly. His personality shined. It's where the obsession began for many of us. But yes, we don't really know what's in his mind.

@Nik, don't want to seem like your groupie, but great comments. I do really worry about him and when I hear death threats, I get very anxious. There are deranged nuts out there who would so like attention. I won't go any further. Also, his relash with NS, I'm a bit cynical, more like a roommate situation, maybe??

    @Nancy, good comment

@Solas, yes personality and presence and the rest of what you have to say.

Re. Rob's sex life, I read someone's comment (not here), to quote it, obviously because of Rob's age and hormonal urges "he was bumping uglies" with anyone he could. Hmm, yuh, maybe, ofcourse, but I think somehow that just might get leaked, as to who he was doing the bumping with, given the scrutiny he is under, yet, NObody's come forward or been pappzed. OK, with one exception and I'm not going there (tonight).

Re. Rob's acting career, whatever he chooses to do is fine by me. My caveat is that the more successful he get's, the less we see of the adorkable guy we love. That makes me sad. I just want him to be successful, happy with his life choices, and never, ever change.

"Wasn't he with Nina Shubert for three years, from age 18 to 21?"

I read that she was working at a meat packing plant in New Zealand now! And Rob had commissioned her to do a painting for his "new house".

Who knows if that's true but.......there are definitely pictures of him with Nina online.

  174. Okay, I'm not crazy enough to stay here talking to myself... I'm not in that stage yet (or am I???)

    Off now!

  175. I'd love to see Rob do a remake of Mrs. Soffel - it was done years ago with Diane Keaton as a very religious plain wife of a prison guard who would go to the prison to read the bible to the prisoners in the early 1900's and one of the inmates wooed her........the gorgeous young Mel Gibson with his steely blue eyes and he got her to help him and his brother escape. It was a gloomy and sad story but also a beautiful love story with a gorgeous man.

Would also like to see him remake Jack Nicholson's One Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest character.

He says the Exorcist is one of his favorite movies and True Romance with Patricia Arquette.......both are really dark and violent, so I get the feeling he might want to do a movie like that.

I'm a musician so I'm impressed with talent as well............sometimes a real asshole is super talented, however, and while you respect the talent, you don't like the person or really want to work with them.

  176. I meant - Diane Keaton was wife of prison WARDEN.
