Robert Pattinson's Sparkly New Comic!
Lady Gaga and Robert Pattinson have more in common than you think—they both like to sparkle, they both can sing and they both look fabulous in cartoon form.
The second installment of Bluewater Productions' new comic book line, Fame, features none other than your favorite sparkle vamp. The 32-pager doesn't hit comic book stores and Amazon.com until May, but E! News has the exclusive first look.
The issue, written by Kim Sherman and drawn by Nathaniel Ooten, with the cover created by Juan Mar Studios, delves into the star's music, modeling and of course those dreamy roles he played in the Harry Potter and Twilight movies.
"I chose to conceptualize A-lister Robert Pattinson from a unique perspective, immersing the reader into the life of the talented actor beyond his most famous role," Sherman says.
"It's our hope that even the most devoted fans will discover a fact or two that takes them completely by surprise," Bluewater president Darren G. Davis says. (Kate: I doubt there's very much that you could surprise devoted fans with somehow!)
Author Stephenie Meyer has already been immortalized in comic but worry not K.Stew fans! She'll get her time to shine soon enough.

FACT or two? Hmmm, I don't know that I trust them to get any facts right.
I can't wait!! When does it come out? March??
Hmmm, not bad I guess.
God it's been a seriously SLOW news day!
I think we were spoilt yesterday :-)
lol I agree Kate. slow day...
I don't know why but the comic Rob in this pic creeps me out a bit.
This Comic Rob looks a bit like John Stamos.
Thanks Kate again. Still coming down from yesterday's high. :-)
Not sure how I feel about comic, but at least he's wearing our favorite T-shirt.. Yeah
Sherman sounds like they expect more great acting from him just like us... at least. That sounds like a positive review anyway.
Interesting!
This is a little nit picky, I know. But, that is not Rob on the cover. That is Edward. Rob does not wear the Cullen crest arm band.
I realize that people who are not RP fans do not make this distinction. It just bugs the crap out of me. I just feel too much of who Rob is...is blurred by the media and Edward fans. This is just one more example.
Hm...I seem to be in a mood today.
face and eyes look okay, but hair is wrong. That is not Rob's hair.
@adm, good catch. I totally missed the wrist band. That is an Edward picture... rats
Guess that's going to sway me. Might check it out later though.
Nothing can surprise me!
And I noticed that wrist band too!
And he should have FILMS (Fuck, I love myself) written on his shirt and NB (naughty boy or bitch ;)) on the back! Haha I'm so stupid! :D
FILTM!
Since Edward would not and could not be scruffy, it is Rob adopting the CUllen wristband for himself. :-D
Best dressed, and now a comic book! This must be such a trip for Rob! I hope he is still taking it all with good humour, a balacned persepctive, and I do hope he is keeping a journal of these outrageously bizaare times!
ADM,
You mean Edwards not real?
Dammit!
@solas LOL on your "bizzare"! :)
You're right Kate, on one hand it's slow. But on the other, mountains are moving right now.
The addition of Rachel Portman (score) and Canonera (costumes) to Bel Ami shows Rob has tremendous clout right now. He's attracting quality artists across the board, and investors are putting up the money to bring in proven talent. It says tons about what the business thinks of the dazzling one's potential. Makes me almost want to squee... this is a great time to be Robert Pattinson.
Solas, glad to catch you here. Was thinking of you the other day as I think you'd like this FF. It's a lovely story about redemption, by our great angst writer.

"What next" is right..It's bad enough ppl already idealize celebrities way too much..just because they are good at acting..which according to a Baldwin was nothing more than pretending/lying and looking good while doing it..now they are gonna confuse the kids by putting them in comic books like they're some sort of super hero..yep that's right..watch out Superman..Robert's come to save the day kids. *roll eyes* are you kidding me???
rpg I sent you an email not sure if you saw my post in the other thread.
Fae :-) Actually, I've been using the term 'bizarre' for decades now; when I was little and people used to ask why I was so weird, I used to say I was from planet Bizarr-ah. :-D
Lois--thanks for thinking of me, for linking tothe FF.
Teri,
OMG!!! Thank you!!!! I will update when I get home from work!!!!
I heart you!
Yes, even this way he looks hot!
We're sad aren't we? ; )
YW RPG
You nailed Loisada...
With just a little over a year of stardom under his belt, his standing in that community is almost hard to believe; the roles that are coming his way, the actors he's going to be working with. It's just been an amazing tragectory.
And no, acting isn't about "lying." That is unless you're a very bad actor. Acting is about finding the 'truth.' And when you find that truth is when you 'touch' your audience.
@solas "Completely bizzare!!!" ;DDDDD
P.S.
Was thrilled to hear that Rachel Portman is on board for the score. She is one of few woman composers working in films today and her scores are simply brilliant AND she only works on quality films.
This is a very good sign indeed. Oh, my hopes are soaring for this one. Especially Kristen Scott Thomas. I don't know. I got a gut feeling about her in this. As I said earlier, she was overlooked last year for a nomination and if she nails this one, she could pull down a supporting nod. It's that kind of role and she is a tremendous actor. We shall see.
A clue to look for is...
At the moment, this has an early 2011 release date, but if it's good, really good and the studio thinks it could contend for awards, they'll move that release date up OR they'll release it in NY and/or LA for a week at the end of December (in order to qualify for awards) and then send it into wide release in January or February.
They do that sometimes with films that they think are of quality and award worthy, but don't want to see swallowed up by the year end BIG holiday movies. Again, we shall see.
OMG nikola6 why do I see Rob holding a little golden statute???!!! :)
I mean statue! Too excited obviously!
You're right Nik, KST could school him in all the right ways. Exactly what Rob needs right now to hone his craft. Speaking of women talent, wouldn't it be fantastic to see someone like Jane Campion direct BD... if they could put together a decent script?
Fae, would you mind telling me what software you used to add text to your picture for the avi? I'm a tech dunce, but would love to fool around with pics a bit but don't know where to get started?
Hmmm Fae...
I don't know about Rob. It might be a bit too soon for him. But KST? Yeah, she's a veteran and this role is the kind that can win an actress an award or two.
I just finished reading Water For Elephants and if he does actually do it, THAT'S the role that could get Rob a nomination. It's an amazing part. Especially the scenes in the nursing home where they'd have to age him to 93. And I'm hoping they do, but there's a chance they might not.
If you'll recall, Kate Winslet was only 21 when she made Titanic and they felt she was too young to believeably age her to 100 or so. So, they hired the 80 something year old Gloria Stuart to play 'old Rose.' They might think the same thing with Rob, that they cannot realistically age him 70 years.
Oh but damn, I hope they give it a shot. If he could pull 'old Jacob' off, a nomination for him would 'just about' be in the bag. 'Course, the movie would have to be good.
In that business, it's all a 50-50 roll of the dice. If they had a blueprint for success, they'd all follow it and every film would be great. But they don't and so alot of films are crap.
2D Rob and 3D Rob this year? Covering all dimensions. lol
No surprise Portman is doing Bel Ami. A family affair... ;)
Yes Loisada...
The more seasoned actors he works with, the more he will learn and that's what is so great about being an actor. You never stop learning. Also...the better the actor you're working opposite, the more you have to 'up your game.' If not, they'll leave you in the dust.
What's amazing to me is how many quality actors are ready to go to work with him. THAT speaks volumes to me about how he is seen by his peers. And it's happened so damn fast. Amazing.
As for a director for Breaking Dawn...
I have no freakin' idea. That is some interesting source material; an interspecies sexual union, imprinting (a teenage boy finding his soulmate in a newborn baby girl) and a birthing that makes Rosemary's Baby look tame.
I know who could do it with his eyes closed and that would be David Cronenberg. But it would end up with an NC-17 rating. I think Rob has said he'd like Gus Van Sant. Interesting choice. But I don't think 'mavericks' will come anywhere near this because they don't want the studios and S. Meyer tying their hands.
Depending on who they get will tell me alot about which way they're gonna go with this. My guess is, they're gonna continue down the safe and tame road. This franchise is already over the billion mark and Summit doesn't want to mess with what is obviously working. Why would they?
@Loisada- I used PhotoScape, it's easy to work with! I'm not good with tech as well! :)
@nikola6 Yeah it would be great if he could pull that old man part off, I would demonstrate if he doesn't get it then!
Yea..a made up story/script is truth..seriously.
@Nik-Do I have time to read all that?..no..do I wanna read all that?..no..don't u ever feel that ur wasting ur time and awesome writing skills on a celebrity blog?..ever feel like writing a novel or maybe a book about acting?..anything to combat and maybe just put to use ur OCD tendencies?..u could try crocheting to give ur hands something to do instead of non-stop typing..u could like maybe go see a movie..just finished watching "Sherlock Holmes"..It was great and focused on finding the truth..but of course..the movie along with the Holmes stories are FICTION..but I'm pretty sure u'll like it :)
@nikola6 - very interesting assessments. Keep them coming.
Thank you Barbara.
I sometimes use this blog as an escape hatch. I am in the middle of writing a book but it is very emotionally draining and sometimes, I just have to step away from it. But I must write...everyday and I'm just glad that I found a subject here that has peaked my interest, enough so to write about him. This is my first time writing on the internet and for the most part, it's been a very fun experience as the majority of people here are very nice. I've gotten into a few dustups because of my opinions and the length of them, but if I'm gonna put my neck out there on the chopping block, I can't squawk too loudly if someone decides to take a swing.
Human nature being what it is.
