The Robert Pattinson drought continues and on the surface I hope for new pictures, but really it makes me so happy that he’s not being hounded everywhere he goes.
A new picspam is due… and as we’ve covered just about every body part I thought the many faces of Rob, per his characters would be candy for the eyes.
We should start at the beginning with a little bit of Vanity Fair Rob. What a way to introduce the world to the jaw – by enhancing it with his wardrobe.
Then we run as fast as we can past Giselbert… with the scary David Beckham-like dubbed voice! Don’t worry, there’s lots to cleanse the eyes after this one...
Thankfully Cedbert was next (Robric?) and we fell in love with the boy who jumped out of the tree and after googling him breathed a breath of relief that he was over 18. Come on, you know you all did the same!
Most of us forgot about the wizard that (spoiler) died. But a few years later rejoiced that he didn’t actually die – but just turned into a ridiculously hot and sparkly vampire. But in between that he dazzled us with some amazing, completely different, characters.
A little bit of Toby and some of the best jaw porn out there…
The completely adorkable Daniel Gale who rocks a rainbow sweater like no other!
Then 2008 was a busy year for Rob. (Oh, and I’m well aware nobody is reading this, I know I wouldn’t be with all these pretty pictures!)
We were treated to Richard in The Summer House…
… RobArt in How To Be (my personal favourite)…
… Robvador in Little Ashes.
Then of course came Robward. The character that had captured our hearts in the books and the actor that played him who captured our hearts in real life. It was Robward that introduced most of us to all the characters before… thanks Robward.
Next up… Robler… and I am so excited for this character (is it March yet)…
So, the many faces of Rob and his characters so far… We have more Robward, Georgbert, possibly Phinbert and hopefully Jacbert to look forward to in the future.
The future looks pretty… the future looks Rob!

he is beautiful...no matter the role, the horrible makeup, fugly clothes, awful hairstyle..he is gorgeous
Lol, great minds Kat!
In the drought I started doing the same thing on my blog.. stared a few weeks ago posting a character each week!!!!
Special places in my heart for Robart, Robdric, Robniel, Robvador & Roby...and of course, Robward!
Can't wait for Robler.. What are we calling him in BA?
Robgeous doesn't do it!
WFE? Robcob?????
True, no matter what kind of character he may play,no matter what he may look like as that character,no matter what he may wear in real like or as a character, Rob ALWAYS looks super sexy and fuckhawt! The man's beauty is priceless.
I thought Georgbert and Jacbert... Robcob makes me think of something else ;-p
This is perfect Kat. Thank you!
I totally agree, palasluna. Well said.
Ah, Rob....you are just too much.
Robcob...let's not even go there.
Yanno. When people say that he cannot act, I always think...WHAT??? What the hell are you talking about?
Look at his performances in Haunted Airman, How To Be, Little Ashes and then Twilight. Four completely different characterizations and if you were to take still photos from HTB, LA and Twi and lay them side by side, they don't even look like the same man. That is what we call a chameleon.
Then compare his work on film to his real life persona in filmed interviews. He's nothing like any of those characters he's played. Well. He's probably got more of Art in him than any of the others.
I think some were just disappointed in his portrayal of Edward. They had their own expectations and felt that they just weren't met.
I think I've more than expressed my opinion about his portrayal of Edward Cullen. I thought he nailed him right between the eyes.
Ah, thanks, Kat. That was simply lovely. Ur...The Pretty. xo
Em, from Falling's chapter three:
We’re gonna teach you a little bit about how to handle a woman,” Jasper said, making a very obvious groping gesture with his hands. Ugh, they were both showing me images of the obscene things they do with Alice and Rose. Please stop! I don’t want to—wow. Hm. That’s interesting.
Uh, I mean, “No.”
Kat
Thank you so much!
What a treasure trove of Rob's character pics. Just exactly what I needed right this very second. The Robler finale-to die for!
Emily,
you know we're going to call him Robcob!
LMAO Ellie! I can't wait! I think I'm going to go read some more.
Sorry to miss you jc, Nik, and rpg! Have fun! Robcob..hehe!
By the way, ITA with your comment Nik.
Goodnight ladies!
Hmmm...lemme think.
For Bel Ami we should call him RobAmi.
(For those who haven't read the book, Bel Ami is his character's nickname given to him by the little daughter of Madame Walter. It means 'Beautiful Friend.' How perfect for Rob)
For Unbound Captives (if he does it), how 'bout Robomo? (for Tsomo) Better than RobPhin.
For Water For Elephants? Robcob, for Jacob. Ewww. God. I hate that one. How 'bout Robski (for Jankowski, his character's last name) Well. It's better than Robcob.
So whadda we got?
RobAmi
Robomo and
Robski
Yeah. Those'll work.
I think he nailed Edward as well Nik-exactly as written... and in my minds eye, Rob is exactly the way I pictured Edward....
He brings something of himself to his roles, and he just exudes this inner understanding of who he's playing..,
I adore him... gee, can ya tell?
Ellie,
what's falling?
Omg! Had to have one last peek before bed and found all these wonderful faces of Rob. I've seen them all and love them all, eventhough I've only seen the tiny bits of VF and Summer House on Youtube.
I still remember seeing Cedric for the first time and having naughty thoughts way back then (yep, I was so glad he was "of age") and then identifying Edward as "that's the guy that played Cedric" after seeing Twilight the first time (before the Robsession completely took over).
What a great way to end a great birthday!
Thank you Robsessed for being my happy place!
Nighty-night!
FILTM!!!
God Vanity Fair? He was how old or young I should say in that? God I loved him then and didn't even now he existed b/c the bloody wankers put his best bits on the cutting room floor! Gaaaaahhhhh! WTBH did they think they were doin'? LOL!
Ring? couple of words on that one. honesty. truth. and kissing by the light of the moon by a blazing fire?!!!!!!!!!!!!!! By Rob Pattinson the man? Little did the actress doing the said wooing would be knowing she would be receiving said wooer in front of said fire and in that kind of kissing I said! I'll bet she's springin' up her muffins now and smilin like a just spanked bitch in a porn movie now I tells ya. And countin' her lucky stars!
And Art god help me he makes me hot and dare I say it!? makes me want to bring him fresh baked goods on a silver platter, naked, with nothing but an apron and my best kitty pumps! Just to see the look on his face... and he has such a great look in that movie.
It's gotta be Robcob.........way too much fun!
Robski? LMAO!
Night Em!
Good night, Em...olive juice! xo
Rob looked SOOO tall and lanky as Daniel - and he was so cute and sweet and so a teenager in Bad Mother's - wish we could have seen more of his character in that.
@RPG
Robroy for BA??? Dunno.
lol~You know Robcob's gotta fit somewhere along the line.
rpg, it's Falling for the First Time...Edward's a geeky vampire!
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5511370/1/Falling_for_the_First_Time
He's adorkable!
Robski has a certain je ne sais quoi!!!
Oooh, thanks Ellie!!!
I'm out too ladies, night all!
I think whoever has a problem with Rob's Edward either did not read the books (including whatever there is of Midnght Sun) or had no grasp of the character. Same with their complaints of Kristen's portrayal of Bella.
Well, I just saw Little Ashes, after the urging of bloggers here. As I have stated before, and as Nik just reiterated, Rob seems to host the soul or psyche of whichever character he plays- beyond the costumes and make-up, his face seems to reflect the character rather than his Self, which we get to see in interviews.
That said, I won't say Little Ashes is among my favourite movies, and because I know little of Dali, never saw him in person or even on TV, I cannot know how accurate ROb's portrayal of him was. From a psychologist's POV, though, I think he captured the confusion, emotions, fascinations, and derangements exactly the way that someone in that situation would have experienced.
I do wish I could watch Bad Mother's Handbook but for some reason it is not available in US format and I am not about to go purchase a universal DVD player yet when I have functioning, albeit limited, DVD players. Anyone have any idea why this is not available in US format yet?
Bonsoir, NB's!
Good night, rpg...enjoy the story!
xo
And I'm out, too, ladies...falling asleep, here...
Enjoy the rest of your evening!
xo
wow imjabara - you've got to be English!!
I just read your entry with my best British accent.....very cute - you sound like the girl in BMHB to me for some reason.
Loved Cedric - such a gorgeous young man.
It will be fun following Rob's career over the years and seeing what it holds for him.
solas - bad mother's handbook is on you tube it is broken into segments, but it is all there. that is how I watched it
now I really am going to bed...
FILTM!!!
I don't think I've ever actually referred to him as Robward or Robador or Robler or whatever (I think they're funny, I just never use them) but I dunno...that Robski one? It's growing on me. LOL! Although I like Robroy too.
And did I get that right about who gave Bel Ami his nickname? Was it Madame Walter's little girl or was it Clotilde's little one? Can't remember and I just re-read the damn thing.
But I could easily adopt the nickname Bel Ami for Rob himself. Beautiful friend indeed.
Also, I read 'Water for Elephants' today. It was a fairly good book. But I am wondering why so many of you are so enthusiastic about Rob getting this part. I don't see the character as that much of a challenge; there is some growth there, but nothing spectacular (unless ROb plays the older verson as well, rather than their getting an older actor for that, as they did, as someone pointed out the other day, for the older lady version in Titanic). Is it that you are just excited about his getting another film to do (and therefore more chances to see him) or do you see something particular to the character that you would like specifically Rob to portray?
and cederic? God yeah, Ced...for years I pined away for that good lookin' kid in Harry Potter! Wonder where he is now and what he's been doin'? I used to have dreams about him...now you know. I'm just sayin' it everbody's just thinkin' it.
and Daniel Gale!? God I love it when he says, 'Fawk it!' when he misses the desk and the flowers he's brought her fall on the floor in front of her study desk in the library. and then he puts the chocolate on the desk in front of her tellin' 'er what it is...and tellin' it'll help her to not be such a grumpy ole hag...and when she tells him to come closer cause she has to ask him something about her best friend who thinks she's pregnant. kisses him with chocolate in her mouth! EEEEewwww...I hope there was a clean take on that one. You could see he was even trying to kiss whole heartedly even then and lay one of his patented pattinson's on her! but she broke it just trying to make her boyfriend jealous...dumb girl! running to stop her from eating ice cream? Yummy Daniel Gale! head turned down as in our pic and talking to her. thats the wonky leg scene as well. toe turned in and limpin' a bih-t.
but one things for sure...he's sooo unbelieveable as an actor it's not even funny. unless he's portraying that. He's incredible. And as I've said before I will always love him...no matter how much older I get or how many movies he doesn't do...I will take this time we've all had with him and treasure it always. As with that first love. He's a gem to say the least.
Solas - you can see a lot of BMHB on you tube - all of Rob's scenes anyway.
I found it somewhere online to watch - have you tried Bit Torrent? Not sure if it's available to download there or not but you tube will give you a lot of Rob's part in it.
He's adorkable......you just want to grab him and kiss him all over!! Or is that just me?
I love in the basketball scene in HTB when he says "I'm dominating" in that accent.....so funny.
And someone said they listened to the Twilight commentary a lot just to hear him say "saucy" and "naughty" - I love that too.......an American man would say something completely different that would probably sound like a put down and be negative........ saucy and naughty are just so cute!
In the book, Clotilde's daughter gave him the nickname, when he was sweet and playful. When he became a manipulative SOB, she wouldn't have anything to do with him anymore.
Thanks--I have seen bits and pieces on utube; I wanted to see the whole movie and see his character in context.
I do wish there were a running commentary on New MOon with Rob and Kristen and Chris. I suppose since they made such a big thing about Jacob, they would need Taylor as well; I would bear with a bit more about his eating habits for those abs, to have the others in the commentary, rather than not have one at all, as it seems is what we'll be getting.
O/T but gotta advertise for Hayden Christensen's new movie "Takers" opens Feb. 12. My avi is his pix.
Solas...
When describing Salvador Dali, 'derangement' is a very apt description. Although...he was an enigma. Was he really mad as a hatter or was it simply a persona he perfected? An act? I don't know if anyone really knows. Even his relationship with Federico is shrouded in mystery. Sometimes he'd hint that they did have an affair and then he'd turn around and say, no, never happened. The thing with Dali is, you just never knew.
And I think that Rob did a remarkable job in portraying the eccentricity, the strangeness of the boy/man. Yet, were those qualities real or an act? I think the final moment when he broke at the news of Federico's death then quickly recovered to go entertain his guests, answered that question, at least in terms of Rob's portrayal. It was an act. But the actual truth? I don't know that we'll ever know.
But I can't tell you how awed I am by Robert Pattinson. At such a young age, with so little experience, taking on a role like this required some real bravery on his part. This was the kind of role you had to be very careful with. Take it just a tad too far and you fall into camp and set yourself up for ridicule. He didn't. And while he did receive mixed reviews for this performance, he certainly did not embarrass himself.
And so much talk was made of the 'tuck' and how unmanly a thing it was to do. But let me tell you, an actor's got to have a brass set of balls to do something like that on camera.
I've known for over a year that he could act. But it was seeing this performance last spring that made me think...he might just be great.
But it can take some time to get to greatness and he's just getting going.
tuck?
femrock...
The moment in the Twilight commentary that had me peeing in my pants was when Rob got confused and thought that a horse was doing the killings.
I thought...you friggin' idiot, don't you know your own movie? And then I remember, no, he doesn't. He ran out half way through the premiere and hadn't seen the whole thing.
God that funny. Do you know which scene I'm talking about? Charlie and Bella are in the diner and the waitress wants to know about the investigation and Bella says Charlie should lay off the meat and eat some salad (or something) and he replies that he's healthy as a horse and somehow...
Shit for brains thought a horse was doing the killings. Even typing this out, I'm laughing my ass off. It was so funny.
I thought...Rob, Rob, Rob. Gotta love him.
As for dali--based on the info of the movie, he was experimenting, finding himself, hence the costumes, trying different outfits and hairstyles, etc. He had artistic talent but wasn't sure of who he was as a person. He seemed an adolescent after a possibly abused childhood, probaby forced to do things, or be someone, he was uncomfortable with, and therefore ending up with no definite sense of self.
that alone could make a person deranged, but there were other confusions added to the mix, and I think Lorca's interest n him, and advances, complicated and confused him more, leaving more to retreat and hide. I got the idea that he feared he had no real thing about himself other than his talent; that everything else real was either taken away or forbidden and hidden away.
Yes...'tuck.'
When Salvador is standing in front of the mirror trying on different clothes and working up his 'act', at one point he's standing there naked. You can see the triangle of his pubic hair, but no penis. He has 'tucked' it giving himself what some call a...mangina.
The only other time I have seen an actor do this on camera was the guy who played the serial killer Buffalo Bill in Silence Of The Lambs. Perhaps others have done it too but I just didn't see it.
According to Dali (and again, you have to take everything he said with a grain of salt), he was sexually abused by his mother. That she performed oral sex on him.
Who knows? But supposedly he was terrifed of being penetrated and simply couldn't participate in the act. So...he watched. As was depicted in the scene with him, Federico and Magdalena. Oh, I thought that was a heartbreaking, and yes, disturbing scene.
Thanks Kat!!! The pix are gorgeous and droolworthy as always!
Never heard of that definition of Tuck, nor of exactly that action (although have heard and read of similar).
What you write(re Dali's claims) makes some sense psychologically-- SOMEone abused him, not neccessarily his mother, and if he said it was his mother, it most likely was not; only a catharted person would have been able to admit and be totally truthful about that.
And I thought that scene was heartbreaking and disturbing only re Magdalena. She was being used for a game beyond what she thought she was getting into.
For Dali, at that point in his life, it wasn't heartbreaking or disturbing; it was logical. That is exactly what I would have expected him to do.
I too just finished Water For Elephants and I just absolutely loved the story. It had everything.
Why would I love to see Rob play Jacob? Well, I'm hoping they'll let him play 'old Jacob' as well. That's the real draw for me. If they get an old actor to play him, I'll admit, some of my enthusiasm will ebb. But even if he just plays the young Jacob...
It's still a terrific story, could possibly have him sharing the screen with Oscar winners Sean Penn and Reese Witherspoon and Jacob is a 'young leading man' heroic character. And I think Rob needs to play a few of those, mixed in with the other types of roles that he's said he's drawn to; off the wall, off the beaten path, oddball, eccentric, weirdo characters.
I think this would be a wonderful role for him, even if it's just the young Jacob. If he gets to play 'old Jacob' too? If he could pull it off, he'd be taking his career 'as an actor' to a whole other level.
Oh, I thought that scene was sad for Salvador too. He wanted Federico, but he just couldn't.
He'd gone off to Paris at that point and had become jaded, but still, all Federico had to do was kiss him and all the pain and longing came back.
That moment was sad for all of them. Federico certainly wouldn't have ever used Magdalena like that on purpose. He was a good person and he cared for her. He would not have ever sought her out for such a thing. But, she just happened to be there and the opportunity to be with Salvador in this sad, strange way presented itself and Federico took it.
Heartbreak all way around.
I think he was confused; it wasn't a total longing, and he wasn't sure of the context of longing and desire and love.
OK-- must get some sleep. Be well.
You too. Night night.
It's been really nice talking.
ITA with your views on Rob's acting and characterizations, Nik. He could so easily take the route that Taylor seems bound for, the big hero type movie star, but he doesn't. He's said many times before that what he wants is longevity in his career, and he's making his decisions based on what he can learn and explore about himself as an actor. I can't say how much I admire him for that; it isn't easy to turn your back on the Hollywood machine and it's excesses. It may appear that Rob doesn't take himself too seriously, he dismisses his looks, the way he dresses, the manic reactions he gets, but you can't argue that he takes his acting seriously. And, like you said, Nik, anyone who claims he can't act hasn't actually watched his performances with an open mind or without some preconceptions.
Solas, your background lends some very thought provoking insights into character motivations. I'm glad you watched Little Ashes. That scene between Lorca, Dali, and Magdalena was heartbreaking. It was the only way for Lorca and Dali to consummate their relationship, and Magdalena had to be the one because of her ties to both men.
On another lighter subject, I think I prefer Robski than any other combination with the name Jacob (sorry, it just causes a shudder, I really don't like Jacob). Robcob just brings to mind some very naughty corn on the cob images;)
Again, goodnight everybody. It appears to be early morning where most of you are. It's only about five in the afternoon here.
Thanks for the photos Kat!
Oh Nik..........I haven't seen LA yet and you just let a lot of spoilers out!!!
Oh well.......too late now, I've already read it.
Yeah, I remember the horse comment - he was truly confused. And I loved his description of himself just not begin scary with his sculpted eye brows and little baseball uniform and the bouffant hairdo!!! That really made me laugh the second time I heard it.......the first time I was a little upset with him for dissing his own character and CH seemed to be too but it just sounded so funny and like..............why take yourself too seriously........just like Rob.........so it's been super funny since.
You and Solas had some good conversation going there about Dali.
LA should be in my mailbox on Monday so I'll finally get to see it.
Oh yeah, where are you?????
It's 1 a.m. here in Texas
HOLY HELL! 40 seconds of Rob hawtness!!!
I keep watching it over and over....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dafnP9FHOo&feature=player_embedded
watched little ashes on youtube last night and i can't describe the sadness i felt ... there was a favorite part though when he receives lorca and introduces him to his wife he was soo crazy! really looking forward to see Rob dealing with animals!doing a real comedy, epic, sci-fi anything ..
How can anyone say that Rob has failed to play Edward Cullen - this is totally beyond me... it kind of hurts my feelings in a strange kind of way.
You only have to listen to Rob's interviews to know that he understands Edward.
He was fantastic in Twilight - quirky, conflicted, yearning, funny, scary, perfect. In New Moon he took Edward to a whole new level - it's not often I'm speechless after a film but let me say that if I hadn't had a friend with me on the way home, I'd have been sobbing. I couldn't speak for an hour after I got home. Rob NAILED Edward in this film - beautiful, spiritual, in pain, not human - I thought he was wonderful.
I've enjoyed every film Rob's been in (not seen The Summer House though. He's not the finished article yet, he's only 23, he has a big fan base - he can go as far as he wants to with this.
Loved that- and each and every character he played. I read every word of it, too. Your little anecdotes are great.
you read my mind Kat :) The drought makes us crazy. It's nice to wake up to his pics :D
How anyone can say Rob can't act ?!? Seriously ! But I just think it's an easy 'stick' to poke someone with if you don't like them ie. jump on the bandwagon of those who have only seen him in the likes of Twilight and don't get his portrayal of Edward. I agree about the whole Midnight Sun thing too, if you haven't read this there's even certain aspects of the first Twilight movie that they probably won't 'get' either. The Twilight books are from Bella's POV but Rob tries to get under Edward's skin from a male point of view. I think that Rob totally 'gets' that Edward is so tortured during the first couple of books that if he were to act any less stoic at times then it would be a lie. Edward really thinks that he will go to hell and has so much torment about the position he's put Bella in that if he were too light hearted throughout the film then all that would be lost and you wouldn't believe that Edward was 'really' that tortured by it at all !
I love the fact that WFE is on the probability list because Jacob (grr) is a great character and I think the over all production would be amazing and a great thing to out your name too in general.
My favorite is Little Ashes. The Lorca/Magdalena/Dali scene is very sad. My second favorite is HTB,it's funny and sad at the same time.
There is program about paparazzi on tv, I really hate them. They just hunting these celebrity like animals. I'm just going to turn off my tv now and listen to music ;)
ok, so what's all this fuss about??!! I'm looking at this pictures and no...nothing... I see nothing, a regular young man who's dorky in many of them, and that's it, nothing else, nothing special.
oh who am I kidding???!!!!
I can't escape this!
I love Art so much, I want to give him a big hug! So adorkable! :)
Oh and Cedric is hot, I like his name Cedric Diggory! :))) I even like Giselbert! :D, I like his teeth! :)
But really Robward is my first love, I didn't know any of these guys before him. Robward is really the beginning. But I might be cheating on him with Robler! ;)
Oh and Jacbert sounds so ironic to me! :)
I will always love Cedric, because during the movie I thought: "Can´t they show more of this guy???".
And when I learned that the same one is playing Edward, I literally waited for two weeks until watching the movie. I was afraid that this would change my whole life - AND IT DID!!!!!
you can easily watch BMHB, just type movie title + streaming in google an you will get several options, megavideo is OK, I just wachted it!!
anyone knows how to find The summer house???
My top three goes like this:
1. Robward (he was the beginning
of everything)
2. Robler (altough I haven't seen
the movie yet I already know
that he wil be my favourite)
3. Robart (you just have to love
him)
Thanks Kat for this lovely picspam. This is what we need in order to survive the drought. I'm happy too that pappz didn't catch Rob. We will have a lot of new pics as soon as RM promotion starts. We just have to wait. We waited so long, so we can wait one month more. Thank God February is the shortest month in the year.
My top 3:
The film haunted airman is rare , But I loved the performance of robert in the movie really made me see Rob Toby is an actor with great potential and great talent ...
Robvador it and all you have said simply genius.
Robward definitely love and for my best performances in the films of Twilight
When I first watched him as Cedric, I thought "oh, he's cute" and that was that.
Then the craziness started for me, my son got me a copy of the HP movie and when Cedric jumped out of the tree I thought "oh my God he was gorgeous then, should I be having these thoughts!"
it was good to remind these characters rob is good in eveyway thanks for this :)
And in a not too distant future and I'm sure Robgeorg Robler, Robty, Robami, Robroy, Robky, Robcop. Whatever you call them, the thing is that I'm sure that will be my ruin these new characters get killed and can go on forever my love for Rob ...
My love is: Robert Pattinson
He's beautiful all the time.
Rob's schoolplay characters:
King of Hearts - "Spell For A Rhyme"
Robert - "Lord Of The Flies" (William Golding's novel)
Woman - In school's drama class (Lorca's play), other characters studied in drama class unknown.
Theatre characters:
Cuban dancer - "Guys and Dolls" (Frank Loesser's play, 2001)
George Gibbs - "Our Town" (the lead role, Thornton Wilder's play)
Lord Evelyn Oakleigh - "Anything Goes" (Cole Porter's play)
Alec - "Tess of the D'Urbevilles" (Thomas Hardy's novel)
Malcolm - "Macbeth" (William Shakespeare's tragedy)
Frank's son - "The Woman Before" (Roland Schimmelpfennig's play, 2005)
Wow, the discussion is great. I watched 'Bad Mother's Handbook, HP Goblet of Fire, Twilight, New Moon, but my favorite is Little Ashes/ DalĂ because your character is more challenging. I have no doubt: Rob is a good actor, a chameleon.
Ive never seen a man so beautiful in the funkiest clothes, long or short hair, beard or clean shaven. Hes Adonis. The real deal.
Sleeper-- wow--that was thorough! A veritable Robcyclopedeaia, eh?;-) How do you know this? Have you seen Rob in any of these earlier performances? I wonder how he did.
I think having Rob playing a character named Jacob, who is neither obnoxious nor immature nor manipulative like Twlight's Jacob, would be a good thing for us. :-) No reason to have a perfectly good name like Jacob forever ruined in our minds and hearts. :-) There is a Jacob briefly mentioned in the novel I am writing; I don't want Twilight Jacob to taint a reader's perception.
And I cannot figure out why in the world Stephenie Meyers loves the Jacob character. In the book he was even more obnoxious than he was in the movie.
*walks out of room laughing at ROBCOB* Im such a dirrrrrty girlie
Solas,
you're probably gone, but I wanted to comment on WFE..
Yes I do think this would be a great role for Rob...and as I said a few days ago, they need to have him play Jacob as the 93 year old as well, and not use another actor.
I don't think it has to be a challenge for it to be a great role for Rob... He studies each character and breaks them done and sees what he can create...
I loved the story, and think it would be a great role... Jacob (cough) goes through a lot in his life and the lifestyle is so foreign to most of us....
And of course to work with Sean Penn would be a gift.
down not done
Thank you Kat for an excellent post. His look changes are amazing, in the set of the jaw alone. Anyone who claims his acting is always the same must be oblivious to body language.
Wish someone could sneak into the pre-prod sessions and snap a few shots of Robami. As much as I dread the stache, I have a feeling he is going to look positively DASHING.
Cedric has been my favorite of Rob's characters so far but I think his portrayal of Tyler will knock me off my feet.
Thanks Kat. Great pictures.
Noticed Rob in Goblet of Fire, and knew he'd die. Was surprised they cast someone that good looking for Cedric. I wanted to see more of him, but expected it to be HP movies. Don't know why.
When I heard they announced him being Edward, I was excited right away and knew he'd be a perfect Edward, (for his looks and acting ability) He is a GREAT actor.
People that say he can't act must be jealous of him.
I think any role, at this point, that will allow both the film and public audience to see him as 'Not Edward' and Not Franchise, would be a good thing. Not to denigrate his work in Twilight or HP, but good for him to 'go' elsewhere. Also, WFE is a good 'filmic' choice as far as adaptations are concerned.
What a great cinematic journey through Rob's career as well as his jawline. LOL There are still a few of Rob's performances that I have not seen and I want to see them all. He has never disappointed me in one single performance yet and I can't get enough of his voice, guitar, or piano either. I wish they had recorded his improvised Bella's Theme that Catherine Hardwick talks about in the commentary of Twilight. He is absolutely amazing on all levels.
@JC... love the fotoblog of your school! Looks like you take the kids to some wonderful cultural events. Readers unite!
@Solas, I totally agree on Jacob's manipulative and aggressive character, but then again I don't understand SM's love of Edward either. Role models? Not in my world.
Rob wasn't saying he thought a horse was doing the killing. He thought Billy had said he thinks it's a horse instead of the healthy as a horse comment. Rob then played with the idea that it was a horse doing the killing. It's called Rob having a sense of humor. Rob knows the story quite well.

Thank you for your comment. There are many more photos and projects that I develop with my high school students, especially for the Science Fair of the school. Last year, we did a research project about the importance of Edward Cullen and the influence of the work of Rob in the success of the character in the film. The students have read Twilight and New Moon, watched the movie and they wrote a report. They loved it and now they are reading a lot. The project, based on their reports, will be presented in a big Science Fair of my country , in march.
Thanks again.
JC, while I personally am not a Twilight "saga" fan, I appreciate that the books' easy reading level makes them an excellent vehicle for older non-native English readers. Studying the effect these characters have had on our cultures - the world over! - must have been incredibly eye-opening.
I personally prefer Rob's Edward by far to SM's book version, likewise for Kristin's Bella. IMO this is one case where intelligent, thoughtful actors have deepened and improved upon the written word. That said, it's wonderful to hear your students have been inspired to read more, instead of merely spending more time at the cineplex!

I agree totally with you. For me Twilight Saga is like an open door to great books like Romeo and Juliet, Wuthering Heights, Dracula from Bram Stoker, Pride and Prejudice, just to name a few. I do not know the reading situation in other countries but in Brazil most of teens prefer games than reading a book, mainly the classic ones. As I have said in my anterior post, my students began reading Shakespeare and other great authors because of Edward and Bella, most of all because of the way that Rob and Kristen are playing their roles.
Rob is an excellent reader and he has estimulated many people to read. And they are not teens.
Thank you again.
JC--strength to you and may you continue with this success. Getting people to read, finding the bridges in popular easy-to-read fiction to get them into the classics, is a praiseworthy task and goal.
