From People.com
Pledge a few bucks and maybe talk to a vampire.
Robert Pattinson will be manning the phones at Friday's telethon for Haiti, joining Brad Pitt, Bill Clinton, Clint Eastwood, Jon Stewart, Matt Damon, Meryl Streep, Morgan Freeman, Julia Roberts, Leonardo DiCaprio, Nicole Kidman and Tom Hanks.
Added to the previously announced musical acts are Madonna and Beyoncé. Haitian artist Emeline Michel is also on the lineup.
The two-hour Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief, begins at 8 p.m. ET and will be hosted by Wyclef Jean in New York, George Clooney in Los Angeles and CNN's Anderson Cooper in Haiti.

I'm so proud!
So...how much do I have to give to chat up Teh RPattz??
;)
I thought Rob was hosting in London. Has this changed and is he now only answering phones? Or will he be answering phones in addition to hosting.... U2!!!!
I'm guessing he will be answering phones in London though, right? Not in LA. Color me confused at this point!
Solas and I will be tripping if Rob introduces Bono and Edge! ;)
If I get Brad on the phone I'll swoon...
If I get Rob... oh well... I'll just die.
(so, if I don't ever come back to the blog, then you already know what happened: cv died happy! :)
Are they presuming that Rob's in LA during that article ?
Yup I'm confused too, I thought he would be hosting from London? So he's not going to be hosting but on the phone?
And will it be from London or LA?
I hope that he does both host a part of the show and be on the phone for a part of the show.
While somebody's got him on the phone can they also ask about 'Elephants?' A cofirmation he's considering would be nice, since Variety is saying he and Penn are circling. Oh, maybe not the right time and place? Well, REALLY wanting to know, you know...lol
HEaven help them.... the lines will ring off the hook but he'll never be able to get the callers off!

confused here to.
They are going to show the event on 3 channels here, 25 channels in US. It says that it's going to be from LA, NY, Haiti and London.
Might be hard for Robert to get someone's credit card number while they are screaming in his ear.
They should guarantee a conversation with RPattz for a measly 20K, and they could rebuild Haiti within a week.
Good for him, he must know how much his presence will be helping that poor country, assuming much of the help actually gets through, which quite frankly is questionable with the state of things now. My own personal recommendations in addition to the telethon: Americares and Doctors Without Borders, both tremendous organizations.
So London or LA??? Confused.
Coldplay is performing in London. Rob presenting Coldplay in London! How many times can I die and be brought back to life with this man?
VeilsofLight - Ha! That was funny. :)
From what I understand, the phone lines always tie into a main switch or some other because a person with a big pledge who says "I'll pledge $1000 if can talk to Rob Pattinson" gets flagged and the call switched over. So, who knows? With technology today, lines both domestic and international maybe can be tied together?
...and you can see how technologically savvy I am :D
Sigh. I see poverty in my near future....
@veils, LMAO.
What happened is so sad. It's good that we all can find a way to help. They are so much in need of any help...
I'm proud of you all, too, ladies!

A lot of articles regarding the telethon say that Rob is hosting but People Magazine does not say that. They either don't have the full story or they - as usual - are not giving Rob the coverage he deserves. I have totally lost faith in People Mag. when it comes to Rob.
@Haystack....*sigh*...I hear ya. Hell, who needed that retirement fund anyway? It's just money, right?
:)
In reality, I don't think I'd actually have the balls to ensure I got him on the line...I don't think he'd appreciate the hyperventilating. Holy CRAP. Can you even imagine? I seriously hope they record parts of some of the conversations.
Won't it be like 1:00 in the morning in London?
Poor Rob, who ever gets him first will never give him up! He'll just be one one call for 2 hours!!
I hear it now...some moron calls and says
"Can I speak to Edward cuz I love him so much"!!!!!!!!!
LMAO @ RPG!!
Oh you know its gonna happen...
I don't trust people magazine...I guess they just assume he's gonna be in LA at the time while he's actually is in London due to preparations for Bel Ami.
SO maybe they are just assuming he'll be amongst the stars answering phones..and I am not sure how smart this is with all the crazy fangirls trying to speak to him..what if they are all jamming the phonelines and thus blocking out those who really wanna be donating...but I may be all wrong and he'll end up getting the biggest donations lol!
RPG - LMAO!
Should we call and say "Can I speak to That Sexy Mf'er Rob Pattinson cuz Fuck I Love That Man!!!!!"
Do you think they'll let us through? I'm trying it. =)
What a great guy our Rob. I will watch and call and donate ALL NIGHT LONG even if the whole telethon only involved the camera on him answering phones. Who needs musical performances? Give us ROB and Haiti will benefit.
Is it weird that I can't wait to see what he wears? Will it be his own clothes or 'arranged' designer clothing, like it is for premieres and such.
Why, Hello There, Mr. Pattinson! You're looking damn fine tonight (HoboTux Rob!). If you just start reading that phone book over there, I'll give you my credit card. No, you keep it. Just keep speaking in that lovely, sexy voice...
Ok, Gwen's back. Just realized how much freaking money I would pay to hear Rob read all of the Twi books to me! Serious money. Bel Ami too. It could be that accent---it makes Gwen swoon! ; )
And seriously applaud all relief efforts for Haiti. It is great what Rob and the others are doing.
I would think he'll be introducing the london performances and maybe give an appeal for donations...then maybe take a spot at the phones!MTV don't name him as ahost like the others as the london event is smaller!
@gwen, they sholud just asked Rob to read something, dosen't matter what. As long as people called and donating he keeps reading. No money= no sexy voice reading.
I would give him my creditcard,my parents and everybody I knew ;) or just rob the bank o give it to him.
FFFFILTM!!!!
Bravo, Rob!
I guess I need to go to the bank and ask for a loan. I'd mortgage my house to get a chance to talk to him!!! lol
Don't forget now, if any NB's break through the phone lines you need to ask Rob to come to the RP Theater for open mike night.
@Gwen-LMAO
Exactly, JC! Open mike night. Rob. Dreamy sigh. ; )
Seriously, though. Rob's presence should help tremendously with donations. Hope the generosity flows.
So will it be a different phone number for the telethon part in Britain? Not sure how much it is to call "over the pond" on my cell phone plan from here in the US, but for a chance to talk with RPattz???? That's a no brainer. And what's the current dollar/pound conversion (or is it euros?) So much to do to prepare......*off to google stuff*
Alot of people are saying "hosting" or thinking he was "hosting" from london. When stars appear on these things they do not host, they just say something to help get pledges then possibly man the phones. Which is what I think Rob will do ~say something about making a pledge then work the phones.
