The Big 2010 Preview With Robert Pattinson

From Empire Online

Teen Heartthrobs
Are you under the age of 21 and female / gay? (Kate: Emmm....no I'm not under the age of 21, what are you trying to say??) Do you just adore chiselled cheekbones and big dreamy eyes? (Kate: If you're taking about the chiselled cheekbones and big dreamy eyes I think you are then of course I do!) Do you cover your room in posters ripped from magazines, cover your schoolbooks in scribbles that read "Mrs Zac Efron" (Kate: Eww, NO ) and generally behave like a slightly demented badger every time someone mentions your true love's name? (Kate: What ??? Who told you that??Goz, Kat you promised) Well, here are the films that will set your pulse racing this year.

On APRIL 2, the dream factory that is Robert "R.Pattz" Pattinson will return in Remember Me, a family drama wherein he play Pierce Brosnan's troubled son. We'd tell you about his troubles with his father or the new relationship he forms with Lost's Emilie de Ravin, but we're pretty sure that anyone who cares stopped paying attention and ran off to book tickets as soon as they finished reading his name.
(Kate: How right you are!)

R.Pattz will of course also star in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse on JULY 9, returning as vampire-with-a-heart-of-gold Edward - and yes, members of Team Jacob, Taylor Lautner is also back as the werewolf rival for the love of Kristen Stewart's Bella. This time they're all threatened by an army of feral and super-strong newborn vampires created by old enemy Victoria (Bryce Dallas Howard, replacing Rachel Lefevre), but don't worry: we're sure they'll still find time for plenty of moping about and casting longing looks at one another.

Apparently, Empire Online is a bit clueless on age of his fanbase.

2010 will be a busy year for Rob. With Bel-Ami being filmed Rob will be rushed to do the promo of "RM"?
I'm hoping to see "RM" as a box office hit here in the US as well as outside the country. With NM fading , his fans are longing to see his gorgeous face in a role best suited for him. With the same Summit's publicity/promo machinery extended to "RM", Rob is on the right track.

They think it is about teens because, sadly, much of the world has become jaded, dismissive, even hardened, about love, soulmates, and a sense of morality that calls one to respect, hold back, and not give in to immediate reinforcement, and has relegated it to the realm of teenagers.

And because they are so used to dishonesty and image and stylists and superficiality that they cannot see the interest/ draw/ appeal, that real charm and beauty of character shines out from a beautiful face.

And I will add to that: I bet it makes the (older) men in Hollywood (and beyond) nervous that women are looking at a beautiful (younger) man. So rather than acknowledge that, or find something about themselves that would attract or draw, they would demean and degrade and at the very least imply that it is immature and inappropriate, by placing the attraction on teens and as a teen phenomenon.

No Its not true. You shouldn't generalize.

Right - why do they think only teens like Rob and Twilight - they are really not tapping into the real diversity of the audience dollars that they should be.

I would have to disagree...most of his fans are not tweenies..
It's not an insult, so don't take it that way...
