Heat World met up with Vampire diaries stars an Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley and asked them what it is about The Vampire Diaries that makes it so great:
"We fall into this really great niche," Paul told us. "Thirteen-year-old girls can't sit and watch True Blood with their parents – that would be awkward." Ian agrees, adding, "It's different. There's a subtle sort of humour." Asked if they've ever experienced the same sort of craziness as fellow vamp Robert Pattinson, Ian admits, "People ask me to bite them a lot." Paul, too. "A girl asked me to bite her as well, in a bar," he tells us. Eek!
However, none of them are at the stage where they can't leave the house. "We're not that popular yet," jokes Ian, as Paul adds, "He [R-Pattz] can't even go out. Not even Johnny Depp is at his level. I don't think I'd want that." When we asked what it is about vampires that audiences can't seem to get enough of, all three were in agreement that humans love the idea of "danger and love" together, with Ian explaining, "As a vampire you lose the constraints of a mortal human. Humans are lured to something that's sexy and dangerous at the same time." Ian, Nina and Paul are staying here in London for a few days to "hang out and be tourists" and Nina told us excitedly that she can't wait to visit Topshop. Wise lady.
Gozde: Maybe Rob should follow the foot steps of Johnny and buy himself a "Fuck Off Island" :))

lame. jd was at that level that's why he moved to france. i would stay that was the best thing he did. i hope robert doesn't have to do that but if it does get as bad as how it was for johnny i don't blame him for doing the same thing. i'd miss him but i'd respect his "getaway".
i dont know why other people and media keep compare him to another actor.it's only made rob looks like such a big head,arogant,ambitious guy, which he's not. there's no way rob can compare to johnny depp .he is to young for God sake. he still in his early career.of course johnny>>>than Rob :)

I dont like Vampire DIares..They copy the image of Edward..like the guy that plays ..the vampire I dont even know his name..but he looks like Edward..And the girl kids of look like Bella too, I heard in the book she's blond and in the show she's brunette.like Bella
Johnny did what's good for his children, his family. Living in France surely helps to almost live the life of normal people (by the way, I recently saw a papz pic of his daughter reading TW - girl def. has good taste :p).
I love Johnny, he is a great actor, truly extraordinary. And I love his fuck off attitude. And I hate that because of that attitute the Academy does not recognize his uniqueness and ignores him every time :(. (I'm sure he'll get the life's work Oscar as soon as he's dead :(.)
And then there's Rob. And I love him soooo much more ...
I don't think these actors meant any offense, they just mean Robert is "THE" hearthrob du jour at the moment, whereas JD's been around a long time.
You have to remember they are being asked a bunch of lame questions, asking them to compare themselves to Twilight and True Blood.

Read all of today's threads and decided to combine all my thoughts and to post just one here rather than several all over.
I said the other day (somewhere around here), that this current vampire craze began in 2005 with the publishing of Twilight and that
all the rest (and good though they may be), have simply jumped on a bandwagon AND that Twilight is and will remain the standard because it was FIRST! Very important to be first. As for Rob...
Yes, his stardom is exceding all of them. Why? Well, his stardom is coming from the movies and that's the top of the food chain. What else? Each generation produces only a handful of stars that go on to be the biggest and best of that generation. Robert Pattinson is one of those stars. With a beauty that's been compared to James Dean, the young Elvis Presley and even the young Marlon Brando (never bought the Brando comparison till I finally caught Last Tango In Paris on cable a few weeks. I'm looking at it thinking...'Mother of God, that's Rob in 25 years. It was eerie. He is SO reminicent of Brando...something in the eyes) AND with a talent that I believe he's only begun to scratch the surface of. And make no mistake, the industy knows just how damn good he is and that they are indeed looking at him as the 'next great male movie star.'
If he wants it. And I don't know that he does. I don't think he wants to be some big ass movie star/sex symbol. I think he wants to be an artist who will seek out those roles in which he can bury that beauty at every opportunity. And because of that, he'll lose those fans who only want him to be beautiful and sexy on screen. Those who can appreciate the talent, they'll stick.
One last thing...
The greatest ingredient that goes into making a legendary star is...desirability. And Robert Pattinson is one very desired man. Not just by the fans, but by the women (and yeah, some of the men too) who work in his industry; crew, press, suits and co-stars.
Everybody wants his hands on them and their hands on him. And just that alone, is what makes a star. Throw in the talent? You've got a legend.
And my god. I havent' even factored in what he is capable of musically. His future is simply unlimited and whatever he wants, it's pretty much his for the taking.
What a blessed young man he is.

I´m a big fan of both actors.Johnny and Robert.But to compare them is not the right thing to do.Nobody should compare with anybody.Every person is special in his own way.And both of them,Johnny and Robert,are very good in what they are doing and totally different.Of course the hipe about Rob is at a higher level right now but let´s see in 20 years if the hipe is still on.
