I've started reading the Sookie Stackhouse series. They are no where near being as addictive or as good as Stephenie Meyer's (The Holy) books. Godze: I've read all of the Sookie Stackhouse books and you are correct, they are not addictive. But they are very funny and a good lightweight read + there are werewolves, fairies, and other assorted mythical creatures. You can finish one in 2 days and have a laugh. Gozde, I have tried to keep my two obsessions separate and now I'm reeling here hearing the TB theme to a Rob video. OMG. I would beg to differ, that Charlaine Harris's books are as good and addictive as Twilight and the thing I liked about them and the series is there is some REAL biting, good sexy biting, etc. going on! And Sookie is funny. I won't even go into my total obsession with the series and a certain actor in it, because it's all about Rob here. Suffice it to say, I am a total sucker for a British accent. If the guy is witty, honest, self-depracating, intelligent and breath-takingly handsome, I'm a goner. Yes, I've described Rob, but that other guy too. (The ladies at the Vault are probably wondering where I've been lately!)
I wanna know who in the hell he was staring at..at the very end..whoever it was..he liked what he saw..that is the best come hither look I have ever beheld in my life..whew, if I got that look..watch out..nothing could stand in my way..gates would go down with a good kick to a papz head on my way to the prize....

RobertMyLove will always own my heart, and the heartbreakingly lovely young Edward is to die for. But I love Jasper and Carlisle and Emmette, too. They are all so romantic!
However, I really want to do bad things to the sweet, smouldering Vampire Bill. And there is NOTHING I wouldn't do to get that striking Viking Eric to pillage my village. He's 6'4" and loves to be naked. *d i e d* Those shoulders and arms and chest and tight little buttocks - DAYUM, he is fine. I have no clue why he won Best Villain in The Scream Awards, as he is no villian. He plays that character as very true to himself.
The shifters and weres are wonderful, too. Sam is the sweetest friend and a collie! Alcide is a big hot hunk of wolf and Quinn!! Who wouldn't want a real tiger? I must admit, I don't care for Jason. Not exotic enough and is nothing but a man-whore.
Twilight is addictingly romantic, but True Blood is the older, sexier, bloodier sister set in the heat and humidity of Louisiana. If you've ever been to New Orleans before the hurricane, you would absolutely believe there are vamps there.
So, I love both series in their own ways, and the guys who portray all of the characters are just FINE in my book.

I'm finishing off the Black Dagger Brotherhood series now, that has big sexy vampires & lots of sex, so it's OK LOL. I just feel a little weird reading them because they're considere romance novels for some reason, & I don't normally read those. I also enjoyed the Vampire Academy books, even though they are very YA.

Goz - i read the whole sookie series and i did get addicted to it too. they are so quick to read that you just want to read the next. at least the series continues, she has not ended it yet and i also love TB too. My fav. in the books is Quinn.
also read the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, not done yet but that's pretty good too.

I want to stay in good standing on this site and the 3 ladies who run it, so I won't prolong a thread about TB, but tickled to hear that, of course, there are others with shared and dual obsession (big smile).
@Kat, I love character Jason because Ryan delivers the "dumb" Jason lines and expressions so well, always makes me laugh.
@Marna, thanks for tip on BDB, I feel a trip to Barnes&Noble tomorrow. Only other romance type books I got into was the Outlander series. I just finished last Sookie book, and agree with you. My obsession with our beloved Rob and VB (OK, Stephen Moyer)very different. SM closer to my age, so no apologies for the lust in my heart for him. Rob is more complicated but seen others in MY age group express similar feelings here so I won't elaborate and no one wants to read it anyway. What wouldn't I give to spend just one day with either one of them. If I had to choose? I think I would choose Rob, because like I said, it's complicated and he just so fascinates me. Can't get enough of him, that's why I'm here. Thanks.

Before I sign off here, just want to say that I SOooo, like 2009 Rob's hair. Sorry, but that long greasy mop, which he was always fiddling with and pushing back,that I just tried to ignore was not good (see Heidi Klum on Jay's show). He looks so much better NOW. Oh, yuh, that reminds me of the drought. Damn.

I liked the Sookie Stackhouse books, but got frustrated with it about mid-way thru the series. And I read somewhere that Charlaine signed another 4 book deal (into the year 2014) with her publisher, so it is going to take forever to find out how it all ends.
@ lallieb: Argh, don't mention Heide Klum, she was such a moron on Jay Leno's show. Really stupid and she did not get Rob's humour at all.

Another good series is by Kim Harrison about the witch Rachel Marianna Morgan...her roommate is a vamp and her boyfriend too. There are demons and all sorts of scary storylines. But the vamp/witch aspect is really intricate and sexy. These vamps bite too. The first one is "Dead Witch Walking".
