Another star who had girls literally falling at his feet this year was Twilight hunk Robert Pattinson. From the speculation of romance with co-star Kristen Stewart to having his six-pack painted on for New Moon, R-Pattz became 2009’s biggest heartthrob.

No solas, it was painted on...that was a rumor...but they did have to put make up on because of the ugly white makeup...
RPG-- I am confused. Did you mean to say they were NOT painted on? or was the rumour that he had real ones after training?
His 6 pack was not painted on, it was enhanced because the horrendous white make-up washed them off. But they couldn't have created his abs from scratch if they were not there in the first place. Sure he is no Taylor Lautner (thanks for that), but that's not his body type, he is the tall and lean type, not the OTT steroid enhanced muscled type.
Never mind the 6-pack, his shoulders, chest and arms were FANTASTIC and Rob obviously did a lot of work on his upper body.
I've studied this carefully over my 6 viewings of this film! I could cry every time I see that scene, he looks so ill and upset.... brilliant work, Rob.

I don't think Robert's abs were painted on, perhaps enhanced because of the very white vampire makeup they put on him, but NOT painted on.
Remember how some of the wolf pack boys talked about Robert working out a lot, and also Kellan. I think it was Chaske who said that Robert beat him in lifting weights. And I think it was Kellan who mentioned working out with Robert sometimes.
And yes I love Robert's body, well built, lean and tall.

caroline UK u'r right I could die for rob's arms and shoulders..I think his body is perfect for him..I don't think a muscular body will go with his personality he's perfect as he is now.he looks heartbreaking in volterra...I swear I could cry when he breaks the phone in NM...aa that scene broke my heart
@ghostgirl I cry every time it gets to that part in the movie! He looks so distraught...and people say he can`t act!
I think he's a breath of fresh air, not to mention a true original who didn't feel the need to transform his body into something that was false, even though that is the trend now.
For the build he's got (long, lean and lanky), he's got just the right amount of muscle. Anymore, and he'd look like all the rest. And that's one thing that Rob Pattinson is not...like the rest.
Those shirtless shots of him Italy? I swear, he looked like Michelangelo's David.

Oh he can act all right. Compare Art, Dali and Edward. Not just the look of them (they don't even look like the same man), but the characterizations. Three completely different characters you'll put hard put to find. And he nailed them all (and with no formal training to boot).
I think some were disappointed in his portrayal of Edward because he is perceived as this 21st century teenage hunk and that is not who Edward Cullen is. What Rob was doing there is called, 'internalized' acting. And it's very difficult to do. Two words that always come to mind when I watch his performance as Edward...
Understated and elegant.
He is the PERFECT Edward Cullen. Both physically and emotionally.
