Digitally Remastered Eclipse Will Hit IMAX Theaters on June 30th 2010
From Collider.com:
Summit Entertainment has announced The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will be released in both conventional theaters and in IMAX on June 30, 2010. While the film was shot with regular cameras, IMAX is going to digitally re-master the movie with their proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering) technology so it can be shown in IMAX theaters.
With the huge money The Twilight Saga has been making at theaters, it’s no surprise everyone wants it in IMAX. This way, theater owners can charge more for tickets and everyone involved can make more money. It’s just unfortunate that they didn’t film any of the movie using IMAX cameras. Of course, with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn still to be shot, perhaps the final chapter will be a real IMAX release.
You can read the whole press release over at Collider.com
Gozde: So it won't be a real IMAX experience since the movie is already shot and done. It WILL be a $20 movie experience though :)
P.S.: If you've never heard of IMAX before go HERE :)

I know it'll cost more, but I KNOW I will see Eclipse at IMAX...
More of Rob to see on the screen!!!
Good afternoon, ladies!
Bigger Rob and bigger Jacob?! I am all over this! The only thing that could make the tent scene better is if it's two stories tall. I hope they resolved their wig issues because that's not going to look better large.
Btw... I meant to say Rob and Jacob...it's how I think of them. Ahh

I don't know if there are scenes that make the Imax difference, so I will probably see it in regular theatre and then possibly in IMAX. I saw HP HalfBlood Prince in IMAX and it blew my mind!!!! I felt I was fairly falling off my own broomsitck!!! SO if the action and/or scenery/views in EClipse are such that they will be enhanced by Imax, I will surely go for it.
However, I might be back in Ireland by then; not sure if Imax is available there actually--never saw any there. Might have to jump over to England --do they even have Imax there now?
GAH! the leg hitch in IMAX? THUD
Rob's face 30 feet high... and I'm there.
I'm on this, yeah I won't be able to resist. I basically spent $90 just to see New Moon 2 days early so yeah, whatever they want Ima pay. I think I'll see it on the regular screen first, Then IMAX so I know what to expect and it wont be overwhelming.
Ok, now I'm excited about this!
Awesome! How about a freaking trailer Summit????
Am I the only one who thinks maybe there are parts of Breaking Dawn that we should all pay to NOT to see in IMAX??? {{{shudder}}}
: )
Oh freakin yeah!!!!!!!!!!
Big giant Rob.
I saw New Moon again last week on xtreme screen, x3 times bigger than the usual big screen - and it was awesome, the sound was heaps better too. It was extra yummy.
of course I'm gonna be there I don't care how much money it'll cost but I do hope make ups artist ease up a little on robward...I mean ROb is always beautiful but make up was too much specially the lipstick
I am not sure that IMAX will be where I live here in Ohio but I would pay more to see it that is fgor sure.
Damn, I wish we had those IMAX theaters here. Rob just can''t be big enough.. um.. that came out wrong.
HELP! I just contacted the nearest IMAX theater (over 3 hours from me) and they said they aren't going to have Eclipse until 6-8 weeks after it premieres. Does anyone know specific IMAX locations that will be showing it when it opens???
