I've seen it, it's great, but want to discuss a few things. I love Robs' makeup, and the way he acts, especially beggining. Kristen was superb. Taylor was great, he really held the show while Edward was out. But it had some flwas like the rough jumps and Bella as a vampire scene looked like a scene from bamby, very cheesy. Anybody else seen it? What did you think?

Butterfly25 said...

Yeah, this is a great idea indeed Gozde. You think about everyone,as alwyas. THANK YOU!!!

I'm going to see New Moon tomorrow night,as well as Twilight. I so can't wait!!!

I can't believe that we were waiting so so so... long for this and now it's just hours away from us to see this. How cool:)

Oh, I've just posted a comment somewhere else, but I don't think I said anything compromising. But if so, I apologize.
Yes, Alex, the dream scene with Bella and Edward running together is a bit weird, maybe 'cause I found Rob a bit clumsy :-)
And what about the kiss near the fountain? It's NOT the one they showed us in trailers or sneak peaks! And Kristen doesn't scream "No, Edward don't" (or at least, they didn't dubbed it in Italian, but I didn't notice Kris's mouth moving :-)
And there's no scene with Alice telling Bella "You're a human who knows entirely too much about vampires..."
BTW, the werewolves are simply amazing and I loved the scene with Victoria running away from them, while Bella is going to the cliff.
And Edward's pain, oh Sweet Jesus, Rob's so good at that: his eyes, his mouth and the wrinkles on his forehead, THUD.
And of course his chest while Felix is holding him still....Maybe that red cloak could come a bit later, like in the book :-)
Ok, I think ve said enough!

As I pledge - will keep mum until after next week.

And I will avoid others for now, too.

--- Another topic---

(I just suddently got this weird feeling... someone said something in another thread that triggered it, but I've mulled over it after seeing the thousands of fans at the promos and premiers. And more when he came in to and left broadcast studios.

Some were able to get close physically to RP.

I hope his bodyguards are really, really, really, really first rate experts! Un-distractable, perceptive, and fast-lightning!)

Awk.

Hey Sunflower,
indeed there was no scene of "No Edward don't". There was no kiss at the reunion and it didn't look as grand as in the trailer.
Also from watching the trailers I expected a fight scene with Jacob, where Bella screams "No Jake please". It felt a bit flat without it, because I was expecting it. I'm not gonna watch trailers anymore, they set up for disappointment.
The wolves were better than I imagined, Edward was gorgeous and he was exactly how I picture Edwards' mannerisms in my head, how he smiles at Bella.
It feels like in Twilight Bella and Edward were more intimate together, whereas here that connection between them was very rushed at the beggining. But other than that I really liked it. Also that scene when the wolves run after Victoria is by far my favourite, the music is outstanding.

Hello,

I've seen it and it's an amazing movie.

I love almost everything in the movie expect that horrible part when Edward and Bella run in the forest it's so strange but it's Alice vision for Aro....

I hope saturday, I could see it again :)

Screening last night! I have to agree with most of the critic reviews i saw. It is definitely better than Twilight, but still room for improvement.

Big 3 positives:

1) As most critics have been saying, Kristen carries this movie. She gives a heartwrenching performance

2) Edward/Bella chemistry is still smoking, R/K still have it. that small reunion scene in Italy, better than all the teasers we saw. But you leave movie wanting more E/B.

3) Visually, very stunning. Bravo CWeitz

hii i was just wondering is edward barely in this movie or is he in it q a lot?? is it as good as u thought it would be??

Story13 said...

I think the "No Edward Don't" comes from the first movie, the miroirs place, when James is filming her with the video camera. And they put it on the trailer.

Chris said in an interview that he has 20 minutes of film that don't appear in the movie. So some of the images we saw in the the trailer are from those cut scenes.

Yes the scene with Bella as a vampire is the worst one. But maybe it's to make the audience feels that Alice has made up all this vision ? I don't know.

The wolfs are amazing and the pain of Bella and Edward are painfull too for the audience. The way the monthes pass after Edward left… I still have tears in my eyes when I think of it…

I really liked the movie. Even if it has wrong points, but I think it would have been harder to put more of the book in it ! Most everything is in there !

Thanks for making this post Gozde! It feels like the calm before the storm LOL!

I saw the movie last night here in Oz! I thought it was amazing! Any fan of the book is going to love it. There are so many great scenes......All Kristen Rob & Taylors acting was excellent. I thought Taylor really brought Jacob to life; it makes me excited for the Eclipse triangle.

The whole cinema laughed at E&B dream scene running through the forest but its still works in being true to the story.

Sunflower I was thinking the same things regarding what we have all seen during the trailers released and the final cut of the movie. I hope the cut scenes of R & K kissing under the clock tower are some of the many extras to look forward to when the DVD is released :)

I loved everything about the movie as a whole. Edward & Bella car park scene at the beginning had my heart racing.... gahhh he was so gorgeous in that scene! The wolf chase with Victoria, the Volturi back story with the painting and the end fight were fantastic! I will definitely be seeing this multiple times on the big screen.

The fandom consumption of this movie is going to be Epic! I can't wait to hear the reaction of all the US & world fans :)))

Maria said...

wow, what do you mean about the reunion scene?? there was no kiss like the one they showed in the trailer? The reunion kiss and Italy in general is my favorite part of the movie from what I've seen in trailers..it wasn't good?

Anonymous said...

Gosh it was great wasn't it. Lol, my only 3 faults I thought were when Sam comes out to attack Laurent (in wolf form) I thought his wolf was poorly done, not the most believable. And yes Alex I agree the scene where Bella was a vampire was not great (the most of the cinema actually cracked up laughing at that part...which I don't think was the intended result). My final moan is about the vampire make up & eyes. They were so white & it looked caked on. Their eyes were TOO different, it was off putting, besides Laurents eyes should have been black not red, if he was hungry! Wtf was with Rosalies wig & Carlisle's hair ewww...
Other than that I loved the movie. Was really surprised at how well Taylor acted. I loved how the movie flowed, kept true to the book & yet seemed to keep yr attention the whole way through.

...And Rob, dear Rob...Mmmm, yum!

Lady B said...

I also have seen the film, and Iagree with your all your comments. I LOVED the scene of the reunion after the fountain scene, also all the scenes where you see Edwars' pain.

I was surprised with Jacob interpretation, Taylor really make it better that what I had on my mind when reading the book. Also loved the scene in the literature class.

I really didn't like vamps make-up, was really excesive. Kristen is soo beautiful all the film... Rob is gorgeous even whith such pain on the face (OMG his face during the last kiss just after the break-up). Taylor is not more a boy but a really man.

So much things to talk about... I have to stop!!

Hope you like as much as I did.

The movie won't be out in Germany until next thursday, I'm lucky enough to watch it sunday for the prepremier....

so yea, spoiler post is really a good idea =P

Maria, the reunion kiss was not the one they showed us before. There's a kiss but I think not so passionate, or at least that's what I remember! Tomorrow I'll have my 2nd show and I'll watch better :-) But you won't be disappointed: Rob's face when he understands that Bella's alive is unique. You'll love it, I'm sure. And maybe Ozm is right and we'll see the first version of the kiss in the dvd.
Bouncy72 I agree with you: I didn't like the vampires's eyes, they are too false. Both the golden and the red. Twilight ones were much better. And Alyce's wig is disgusting, as well as Carlile's.

Maria said...

Sunflower, thanks very much for your answer!
I'm going to see it tonight, so it's better to be prepared than to be dissapointed at that moment! I'm sure Rob's expression will be amazing, he is incredibly talented!

Enjoy your evening, Maria :-)
I can't wait to read all the comments here on Robsessed tomorrow, after the midnight show :-)
Ok, it's better to go to have a nap,I slept 3 hours last night :-(

Hey I want to say that in Puerto Rico here the premiere was yesterday and today the newspapers of the country were saying that the best part of the movie is the last half hour and that the wolf was inexpressive I'm going to see it today so I hope to see Robward

Hahaha I'm with you Sunflower.. I've been bouncing off the walls from an OD of caffeine all day but it's wearing off now and I can't think clearly.. all I can talk about is how much I loved the movie. Too bad about the hysterical girls who annoyed me to death (seriously, I thought that was an American thing, naive me) . But yes, it was great. The Bella/Jacob thing was not that horrible to endure, and although I thought the whole left in the woods thing was an important aspect of the story that left me disappointed, Kristen did a great job, as well as Mr Pattinson, of course, but that goes without saying.

Haystackhair said...

I'm seeing it at midnight tonight with my niece. I can't wait!!! SQUEEEEEE!

Kelly Louise said...

As for the whole cheesy vampire scene, yes it was pretty ridiculous, but I thought it was stupid the whole movie theater bursted into laughter at that, since I'm suspecting them of laughing at Rob.. grmbl.

I havnt seen yet but I know even trailer stuff doesn't make it into movie..

Twilight they showed in trailer " she's not one if us" from Emmett but it wasn't in the movie..

Yay fir DVD extras!!

Happy nm day!! I see it at midnight!!

Rob'sCigarette said...

I saw a sneak preview of the movie last night. There are faults with the movie. The biggest is the Bella as a vampire vision...the audience was laughing, not the intended reaction. The wigs for some of the Cullens were pretty awful. Taylor Lautner did a GREAT job as Jacob, I was very pleasantly surprised. But, for me it is all about ROB and he was fantastic. The man can show angst and brood with the best. He is gorgeous and the small moan after he kisses Bella by the truck after the birthday party will make you cry and melt your panties. Of course, I'd watch Rob sit and smoke for 2 hours...but I was very happy with my New Moon experience. Going back for more tonight at midnight!

FFpassion said...

I loved the movie, I saw it twice already and really want to see it again, I'm a little nuts over the Twilight series. I love the books. I have to say Taylor surprised me, he did a great job. I am a Team Edward girl and after watching the movie I finally saw the attraction for Jacob.
I agree with the post about the missing scenes in the movie, it's like they were teasing us.
Congratulations also needs to go out to Kristen, she really gave a heart felt performance, bravo you had me believing your hurt.
As for Rob, wow he shows his pain and longing so well. When he kisses Bella on the forehead when he leaves her killed me! I get teary thinking about it.
Like I said before I loved it and can't wait to go again.

Angela said...

No passionate kiss at the reunion? Does he say "Carlisle was right?" Does she say "I'm not dead, you're not dead?"

At the proposal scene, do they kiss passionately? Tell me more more.

Spoil me please.

Sunflower said...

Ok, after one hour nap, when I didn't really sleep at all, here I am again.
So edangel, are u sure u wanna know?? Well, there are 4 kisses between Bella and Edward: one at the beginning when E wishes her happy birthday, the one near the truck, the one of the reunion and one last kiss at Bella's bedroom after the Volturi thing (that I didn't fully appreciate, cause we can't see their faces, they're covered by Bella's shoulders, grrr).
Hmm, am I right, did I miss something? Oh, there's E's kiss on her forehead when she's leaving and maybe one kiss at the birthday party, but I can't remember exactly, I'm too tired :-)
And between B and J there's that almost kiss like in the book, right before the phone rings when E calls to be sure if Bella's alive or not.
Their lips actually touch, but for the briefest of the moments.
And there a scene in the truck just before Bella sees Carlile's car (used by Alyce), when J tries to kiss her, but she puts her face on his shoulder instead, really well played.
I hope I've granted your curiosity :-)

Does the vamp sparkle look better then in twilight or what?

crazy vamp said...

Rob is so... "mouthwatering"!...

Sunflower said...

Yes the vampire sparkle looks much better than in Twilight. I was afraid that it would have ruined the reunion scene, but it didn't at all.

AP said...

Thanks for this thread, Gozde. And also the banner.

Angela said...

yes, of course I want to know. I don't believe in spoilers. I wanna know everything.

So what is said between the two after the Volutri incident in the bedroom? Does he propose and she says no?

Sunflower said...

Angela, actually he doesn't propose in the bedroom but a little later in the wood, but I'm not sure that you wanna know what she says, cause it's the very last scene of the movie and maybe it's better not to spoil it, don't you think? :-)
In the bedroom he asks her if she will forget him for leaving and that she doesn't have to be turned soon, but she goes to the Cullen's to ask their opinions.

Angela said...

OMG, I've just spent hours trying to figure out the ending to the film and people are so worried about spoiling it for me.

I don't care!!!! at ALL!!! I hate not knowing. I read the last page of every book first, I watch the end of every movie first.

Please, just tell me, I can not believe the whole internet is keeping a secret that will be ALL OVER tomorrow. It's bizarre. and my neck is gettin sore from searching for someone who will tell me.

Basically, in the end, in the woods, he proposes and then what? it just ends before she answers? Something like that?

WhyIstheRumAlwaysGone said...

I love the film but it does have some flaws. Plus, so many trailers have spoilt it badly for me: we have already seen a lot of it... I've listened carefully to what people said when they left the theater (which was full) - many people in the audience felt disappointed and even angry, saying it was too cheesy, like a cheap Disney film. Most of them complained about the cheesy dream scene and the abrupt ending (yes, it's the proposal and then a black screen and the credits). But many people seemed to be very happy with the film. You must know that the different scenes switch very rapidly, and yet there's sometimes a slow pace to the plot. Some people found it boring. Taylor does a really very good job. The R/K chemistry is more mature and still just as amazing but don't expect any long smoldering kisses, not even the reunion. Yes sorry ladies kisses are kept to a minimum... The sparkle effect is rather nice in the opening dream scene, but not so much in the other scnes in my opinion. You barely get a glimpse of shirtless Edward in the sun, no more than in the trailer, although you see a bit more of him inside. The CGI wolves... sometimes frightening, sometimes not, the black Sam-wolf looks like a big furry bear. But the Jacob russet wolf, somehow, is much better. Victoria is great but barely glimpsed. And the Volterra/Volturi scenes : they're so good, but short and so spoilt by the cheesy dream scene! But the acting is great, Rob and Kris are excellent. There's tons more of really good things but this is already a long post!

nzkstewlover said...

The part I was looking forward to that they didn't even have was Bellas epiphany. It just felt like.. "oh hey, eddies back"

And the movie was rushed. But other than that, I thought it was amazing.

The sparking was perfect.

And Kristen was AMAZING. Definitely carried the movie. She was my Bella. She was the book Bella. Rob blew me away. Taylor was perfect aswell.

Sunflower said...

Oh ok Angela, here's what happen in the wood :-) Jake tells Edward to remember that according to the treaty he can't bite Bella and she answers that it's any of his business. Then Jake gets angry (at something E says, I think, but I don't remember what) and turns into a werewolf, but Bella stands between the 2 saying that they'll hurt her if they don't stop, and Jake runs away. When alone with Bella, Edwards says: if you want me to be the one one to turn you, marry me (well, they're not the exact words, but the meaning is that)and after a rapid glimpse of Bella incredulity, the dark screen appears and the credits.

Anonymous said...

Hi! Can't wait to see the movie tomorrow morning! I've tried to not look at the spoilers on here, but it's killing me not to!! One question...can any of you remember where the songs on the soundtrack are played? I'd love to listen to it and know kind of where to expect them in the movie. Thanks!!

Angela said...

sunflower- thank you!!! I am so glad I know that. I hate being confused by a twist or cliffhanger when I'm in a movie.

Nice use of the word "incredulity" btw.

I am really surprised how true to the book CW was. Just a few subtle changes, but basically true. I think he's afraid of us. Ha ha.

I'm sort of glad we don't have the Bella negativity regarding marriage in NM, it sucked. Also, seems the movie has the same problem accepting Eddie back no problem. But that's just how bella is, he's a vampire, I love him, no questions, unconditional.

She doesn't have doubts until after the tent scene in Eclipse.

Thank you for answering my question.

I see it Saturday for Date Night with hubby.

GOROB said...

I think that guy Roger Ebert needs to retire! On his website he gave NM one star and referring to "Twilight" in his column he had the date of 1988! Over on Rotten Tomatoes the haters and fanboys are gloating about the reviews NM is getting! Why is there so much hate for "Twilight" and the fans, I don't know! I did not like "Titanic" or "Transformers", but I don't go around hating on them!

Gwen Cooper 426 said...

Sunflower - Thank you! In total agreement with Angela---hearing that the ending was changed sort of freaked me out. (I'm a bit calmer now.)

Debating on seeing Twilight prior to the midnight show---actually have only ever seen it on DVD. Hmmm. More Rob, big screen. I'm thinking yes.

C. said...

I've seen it yesterday, and though I think it was great, though there was a bit disappointment:

I'm gonna start with the negative points:
- Too much spoilers and scenes already seen (and what you've seen is part from the best), next time I'll try to stay away from those, but still, I was surprised but not in big extents
- Yes, the scene were Bella appears as a vampire is frankly kind a lame
- The music: sometimes I felt that it didn't match with the scene (especially during The Break Up Scene)
- I wish there were more kisses and more intimate scenes between Edward/Bella (I wanted the big passionate kiss at the reunion like the one in the trailer)
- This is maybe my MAIN point: You already know (because you've read the book or seen the trailers), that Edward will try to die over Bella in Italy; and I was very disappointed that there was not a building tension between the moment you know he will try (when Alice arrives in Bella's house) and the moment when Bella arrives in Volterra. It's too quick, there should have been at least a scene in the flight between NYC and Firenze, where Alice is lost because her visions changes with Edward's thoughts of different possibilities. There was no sense of rush, or at least, not built enough in a extreme tension. Too bad.
In general, I think the film would have benefit from 15 minutes more. You get the feeling that it lacks something, and that there were rough cuts.

On the positive side (because I'm an optimist!):
- Jacob is amazing. the role and Taylor have both gained in maturity, in humour also. taylor is oh so great and you feel the almost sexual tension between Jacob and Bella (and I'm more of the Team Edward). Great great job to make a werewolfe human and such a bad ass sometimes...
- Kristen was exceptional: she broke my heart with her screams, I had tears...She plays Bella with such a natural, and keeping it simple in the interpretation that it feels so true...
- Rob is Rob, and so gets/translates Edward's mixed emotions, not too mention gorgeous (I would have prefered without so much make-up, in general the vampires were freakier than in the Twilight movie, with fluorescent lenses and really pale pale pale faces, I personally I'm not a fan)
- Action: you'll get your money back. CGI effects are incredible: Volturi fight, werevolves, vampire/werevolves fights are really worth seeing: breathtaking
- Jacob/Bella scenes: really interesting, beginning of the love triangle, and Eclipse is my favourite
- I was eager to see how the blank pages from October to January in the book will be translated: no disappointment there, Chris has found the perfect image to show her despair and lack of life during these months
- And I think the last scene is genius: it builds up the tension and expectation for the next one

Overall, great film, even for the ones who have not read the book/are not into the Twilight saga, the film works and the actors really perform. My boyfriend went with me and he really liked it too, and it was quite interesting to share our thoughts after, as he didn't read the books and doesn't know much about the story.

I know, long, long post, but I was eager to share my thoughts with you guys, tell me what you think after seeing the movie

Hey Capucine I agreed with all the positives in your post. I was just so well acted by Rob Kristen & Taylor. I've just come back from watching it the second time, & the squeals when Taylor takes off his shirt to wipe Bellas head with were just as loud as when I went the 1st time.
Again when the dream sequence came on, the whole theatre laughed...
Sunflower do you not sleep? Hmmm must have some vampire like qualities. Mind you when it finished at 2:30am I didn't sleep the rest of the night...u get such a buzz from it

I just saw the movie and I cried for two hours. Actually, Im still crying. I have no words for it.

gracefulgrace said...

It was pretty wonderful. But not a patch on twilight.
It was very visually beautiful. But there were to many close ups tight shots. The make up was so much better. But the dream sequence a little silly. Edward and Jacob look amazing and Kristen embodied Bella perfectly. There was some great humor to.

I loved it. But I guess for me twilight was hard to beat I missed that amazing kiss and the great music.

edangel said...

Thanks a lot Sunflower...u made my day...Will watch the movie and give my comments...u all are lucky to watch it so soon... i have to wait till Dec 4th...

Unknown said...

so I watched it again :) and it's so much better the second time, when you don't have all the expectations which ruined it for me the first time. Will definetely stay away from trailers for Eclipse.
Second time it made more sense, you could see some thoughtfull details you don't get to see the first time.
Kristen is just awamazing, there are no words, for me she is a better Bella than the book version (more fiersness less moping) Taylor is perfect, and I love his eyes, they are very unique. I keep hearing about vampire make up, personally I like it, they are not supposed to look like people, in the books it keeps saying that they are other worldly beautiful, now you get to see it. And their eyes are amazing, you can't look away. Edward was how I pictured him in the book, quite, tortured and obsessed with Bella. His little smiles made me hot and bothered.
It does lack a bit of Twilights energy (intimacy and chemistry), I'm not sure what exactly. But definetely a step up, visually wise and acting wise.

The movie is GREAT!!! I felt it pretty much follows the book and I loved it! It is very different in tone/feeling from Twilight, (humor? gasp!) but continuity is still maintained through characters and the gorgeous Pacific NW scenery (very X-Filey---kinda perfect for the story, don't ya think?). And, damn, the fight scene in Volterra? It rocked!!!

And the all-too-brief scene of Edward as he called to verify Bella's death? Gave me goosebumps!

Cannot wait for Eclipse!!!
