After seeing this clip, I do think the whole question of are they dating was scripted and Rob seemed in on it. Just poking fun at the whole situation. And they had just been talking about Rob's "bite me" requests. Just my opinion.
Rob rolls out his wry stories so deadpan... even Letterman was taken in for a moment. He stole Dave's thunder by doing a perfect Letterman with the story about biting and dating the fan guy! Has he ever seemed more at ease?
Yes... Letterman set up his "bite me" interruption perfectly, seemed to know exactly where he was going. Nice little routine to say "no comment."
well. david letterman clearly knows jack about Twilight ~ the show just ended here, and letterman was so stupid when talking about New Moon! he asked Rob how a 16 yr old girl would feel about BATS flying around her head in her bedroom at night! way to prep for the interview, loser! Rob's answer to that was PERFECT!! Hahaha!
Just saw it. It was kind of boring and shorter than I thought it would be. Rob was funny though as always, and now that I look at it, it Was inappropriate for David to ask him that dating question. Hopefully Kimmel's will be better/longer.
I don't generally watch Letterman, and this interview reminded me why.
Bats in the bedroom? Seriously, Dave. Are those like the bats in your belfry? *eye roll*
That said, I never get tired of that story about the fan in Spain.
I don't know about everyone else, but did you all laugh when he showed that old movie clip instead of NM? I don't think Rob quite understood, but I was giggling (and I rarely laugh at Letterman LOL)
that was a very good interview, he did seem really relaxed, even with THE question! I'm not convinced that Rob's answer was scripted, but I do think that Letterman knew he was going to do the "bite me-what do I care?" and then move on. Just couldn't leave it alone! but at least he didn't dwell on it.
The bat in the room bit was just Letterman's attempt at humor, he wasn't seriously suggesting that the story had anything to do with the movie, just having some fun and ribbing Rob a little. Dave can be funny, but often way too dry for my taste, and I think this was just one of those times.
Have I mentioned that I'm looking forward to Ellen?! Because I AM!! ;)
Yeah that question was totally planned out. Letterman would have never asked like that otherwise & Rob's reaction would have been quite different if he wasn't expecting it. He seemed really uncomfortable & a little angry when Seacrest did that to him earlier. He looked great btw (most redundant statement EVER)...and funny and charming and edible and *SIGH*...
LETTERMAN SUCKED. Don't waste your time.. Nothing there to see, at all. It's not Rob's fault really, it's just that Letterman's boring, and asked the same old typical questions. So Rob gave typical answers. I don't think he was into it. It takes two, but if he was into it, it MIGHT have been better. But it's totally valid that he was NOT into it - because Letterman doesn't help there.
I hope Ellen is a lot better.
Kristen's Conan and Fallon interviews were much, much better and more funny and endearing and entertaining. Also, both considerate guys, esp Fallon - who would not poke into any drama and ask THE question at all. I wish Rob had done those instead... oh well.
Letterman to me anyways is a good match for Robert. Robert has such a dry sense of humor, and David played of it, sorta poking fun at him, and Robert responding with equal dry wit. I thought they actually had a good little rapport going there. lol
ps: Dave is too old and crochety to care about who some kid is dating, and DAve is very quick with comebacks. So, it could very well have been scripted but it also couldn't have too. Dave has this tendency to take a catchphrase and incorporate it over and over again through the hour for exta laughs.
Okay, now we're on New Moon time. I'll do like JandR. I saw the film yesterday (I had to wait the next screening though, because I arrived one hour before and all places were already gone. I'm in France and we can't buy early tickets). I had big expectations. And I wasn't disappointed. Honestly. I think you can relax (I know you won't, but I had to tell you). That's it. I won't say more until it's out all around the Earth.
*claps hands over her ears and goes lalalalalalala*
I wont see the movie for at least a week if not more. Its coming out on the 26th here and I want to wait a couple of days till the rush is over so I dont end up sitting with the die-hards.
But you guys give me hope that its not as bad as the first one was :)
well since we are talkig New Moon, I saw it last night. It was great, but I need to see it again, cause left with mixed feelings. Kristen was great and Rob, looked like Edward is supposed to look and acted like Edward is supposed to act, not awkward guy out of place in Twilight, anyway you will all love it. Unfortunately it gets very bad reviews on IMDB:(
I IMPLORE anyone who has not seen the film, don't go to IMDB and read the reviews. Of course there are spoilers, but don't let anyone else's judgment be your own. I'm now worried that what I've read will color my impression of the film. I went into Twilight not having read any fan reactions and while I was disappointed, going into that theatre, I was as excited and pumped as ever. I want to feel that way for New Moon, and from everything I've seen, I think it will be amazing. Woo Hoo! 12 hours before I start to get ready to head out. We get to see it at 10:01 pm in Canada! When I got my tickets yesterday, the guy said to be there 2 hours early even if you already have a ticket.
i think he needs an break! He looks really exhausted. Glad for him, that the promo-tour is over and he get some R&R. There are always the same questions in the interview. nothing new. I hope the ellen-interview will be much better. Last year it was absolutely great!
Too late. I already read some of them. Also some other reviews and as expected they where bad. But to be honest, Im not surprised at all.
I guess I will still enjoy the movie and will try to see it as openminded as possible.
Im no Twilight fan at all. If it wouldnt be for Robert I wouldnt have read the books and seen the movie. I'm a Robert fan but certainly not a fan of this mediocre story. :)

I refuse to watch!!! Will wait for it to come on here... Won't do it, can't make me!!!
He's so naturally funny- he looks so good in this- and he looks like he's enjoying himself!!

saw whole thing, yawn, now heading to bed, but he looked great, but I still think he's too tired!

I agree BarbG, the question did seem scripted, but I loved how Robert essentially pocked fun at the issue/non-issue, lol.
Funny snippet!
oh Robert...I'm mooning over here, lol.
Rob is so cute and witty in this interview RPG you're gonna love it!

Thanks Mon. Robert is great as usually. Love him.

I don't know David Letterman very well but I liked this interview...
Anyway, Rob really needs holidays and a rest, he looked washed out.
