I finally talked to my friends daughter who is an actress...she said that Rob is gaining so much respect by everyone in the business. He's making alot of money for Summit, and therefore is treated like royalty. But that Rob in person is not the "sexy guy" we all think he is. He's actually a very nice, quiet, regular guy. (Ya, we all know that already) Said he's quite shy with the girls and everyone, and dosent give off the "i want to date you" vibe....most girls are put off. She just said that he is not what we all think he is...that if any of us got to know him in depth, probably wouldn't want to date him either. As far as the Rob and Kristen thing...she said as far as she's heard, they are just very close friends. Just letting you know what I found out!
omg, he's JAKE RYAN perfected! Jake Ryan wore a plaid flannel just like that...dude, he looks like jailbait though on the bear skin run with his chonies sticking out...you know the pervy photographer was all, "reach a little higher honey...thaaaaat's it..."
Just want to clarify though...she had glowing things to say about Rob. No, she has not met him personally but has friends in the business who have met him and hung out with him. She was not trying to put him down with the "not wanting to date him thing"...just that he's a very different person, quiet, introverted, shy....but very sweet...a guy you'd just like to "hang" with and drink beers with. So...no tomatoes!!

i have a friend who used to model to pay her way through fashion school. she met rob at a dinner last summer pre-twilight and said he was really quiet and didn't say much. She said he didn't know anyone and just kept to himself. He was absorbing the conversation just not apart of it. She said she couldn't elaborate further because she didn't talk to him directly. That's all she had to offer and was like "sorry he wasn't more interesting" lol... she could still care less about him. Not that she thinks badly of him, but she doesn't understand the draw.

Trust me I do appreciate any word about Rob from... well, anybody. And no tomatoes here. But I'm not worried about all of the people who know someone who know someone who said he ain't all that... I think we all know that just because he didn't open up to them, doesn't mean he isn't incredibly special and perfect to someone. I can totally relate. Ive been fortunate to have some incredible relationships. Just not with 99% of the people I have been out with.

From all the social observations I've read about Robert, from folks who have seen him out and about that I know, to gossip mongers who observed his every move like Lainey and the like, the guy definitely seems somewhat guarded in these social situations. I still wonder how much "a part" of the acting social scene he truly feels apart of. He seems to identify much more naturally with music and even the way he dresses is a homage to a struggling musician.
But then you look at him at clubs or bars with his friends pre-twilight, and he looks like the life of the party, being playful with girls and the center of attention.
So, yes, I think it's probably situational "which" Robert comes out in different instances, like all of us.

This beautiful photograph is recent. Remember the set that leaked out about a month ago in tiny format? Batman shirt, funky scarf, vest, piano... One was of Rob in this red/black plaid shirt lying on the same rug but on his stomach, with a shadowy hint of his cute little coin slot peeking out from the top of his pants. They were all done this year, probably during either NM or RM. His hair is cut in Edward mode, his eyebrows are tidy, he's relatively clean shaven...this is definitely current. My guess is probably during New Moon, but there were rumors that he had a shoot during Remember Me.
Perhaps its the way gravity smooths out his facial featues when he's lying on his back. (*Squeeeeee at the thought!) Perhaps he was having a great day and fun with this shoot. And perhaps the photographer just happened to capture the most perfect expression on his face and in that microsecond he looked like a little adorable, mischeivous younger Rob.
It matters not. I am still dead. And enjoying every single agonizingly beautiful moment of such a sweet death!
Dear God in HEAVEN! I don't know if I will survive any more pics like this. My ovaries just exploded, but only after I was impregnated by this stare. THUD!

Yes, I'm sure like all of us, when he's partying with his friends and drinking, or whatever they do...he would open up and not be so shy. But his usual demeanor is shy and quiet, which we've all heard before anyway, my friend just confirmed it. And I'm not the only one who has a friend who's met him who says this...(ex. stephslegit) it seems other people are saying the same thing...so must be something to it. I also had to ask about the gay thing...and she said she honestly dosen't know.
oh, dazzle, my post was just saying that your mention of his demeanor is pretty consistent with what others have said, that's all. I just added the part about where in less "watched" situations where he's feeling more comfortable, he seems to be quite the flirt and rascal.
But yes, even CW and CH and other castmembers mentioned how he can be quite introverted. Kristen mentioned he kept letting his hair fall into his face during his audition and she kept dipping her head to try to get a better look at him. lol

I think you have a really good point. It is ENTIRELY possible to be a life of the party with a certain group of people, and then be in another situation that's makes you feel sooo awkward & out of place that you just don't know what to do with yourself. Unfortunately this fits me to a tee..
like i said.. i don't know him. i can't really give out any extra info seeing as i don't know any. she doesn't know him. she lives in NYC now anyway ( as of spring). she hasn't seen him since. the only reason why i know was because of a random text message that said she had dinner with someone from the harry potter franchise & my first thought wasn't him until the hype for the movie started up

Speaking for my fellow introverts -I can tell you this - we don't like crowds of people. Especially people we don't know. We do best in one on one situations, which is why I think he interviews so well. We also make friends cautiously, but then you're our friend for life. And we're totally different around our friends and family than we are around strangers. Most people find introverts odd, because the vast majority of people are extroverts. So, what you're saying sounds totally plausible. Of course, you can't really know somebody unless you spend time with them, but if he really is an introvert, as is often said - I can tell you personally we are very unimpressive in crowds. Thanks for the info!

Don't know what anyone else imagined, but that's kinda my take of Rob's personality as well just from his interviews and such: a bit awkward, introverted, shy, and a guy 'without game' around girls. Exactly what makes him adorable in my eyes :-)

Isn't it funny how we carry on here. We're all hyperventilating. And yet, we've already heard so many times from Rob himself -- that he is boring, that he is shy, quiet (calm), that he does not go out that often, and that he does not understand how people see him as sexy!. [Yah, a typical outwardly unexciting, boring guy. ]
No wonder he doesn't give off that "I want to date you" vive?
BUT, I would venture that that is a deliberate signal, and that's his way of rejecting people politely? How many times have we heard him say that he's afraid of dying of certain diseases. Aside from that, I say, this boy is not one to give in to mindless, brief affairs and frivolous dalliances.
Perhaps he believes that he has to have some (even a minute) degree of emotional connection to get into the dating level, and to have an intense feeling for the other person for him to get into the next level of a relationship . (I must have read that from one of his interviews.)
Most people are attracted to outward appearances--to the one who is the life of a party.

I think this was taken just after or while filming twilight. His hair was black before that from Little Ashes. Also he has that little tuffed of hair that looks like a widows peek from having it shaved of for Little Ashes. He talks about that in the twilight commentry.
