I love how they said they had exclusive photos of young Rob (we've seen them 100x) and "never seen before photos" seen them all a 100X, and then had to revert back to old quotes from CH!

None of that report was new - and a lot was contrived and just wrong info. You just can't believe anything you hear or read, I say.
If they - Robsten - actually say it seriously then I'll believe it.

I thought Rob said he never dated Nikki Reed. I've also read a recent news report where Kristen sys that she doesn't answer the Robsten question anymore because she is tired of have to answer the same question all the time. Personally I'm not surprised it must get incredibly boring having to answer the same question all the time knowing that what ever you say won't make the slightest bit of difference.
It goes to show that whatever these two say about their relationship status won't make the slightest bit of difference.
The press have an agenda and if something doesn't fit their idea of the perfect fairytale it is ignored whether it is true or not. The press lies time and time again. They also twist and manipulate their stories so much so that when someone like Kristen tries to have their say it is made to look like they are lying.
Be wary of what you read in the media especially when it comes from gossip magazines and websites. Most of the time the stories printed are made up of rumours and lies.
I am more likely to believe the actors than the media.
This is also why I refuse to be lead along by the whole Robsten rumour because in reality I don't have a clue what is going on.
Yes there is chemistry between Rob and Kristen, we can all see that but how real is Robsten? Or is it just another product of the media's fantasy fairytale, which in reality doesn't exist.

As much as I hate the whole "are they? Aren't they?" crap in all the media now, it is giving a lot of publicity to new moon & the twilight series which can't be a bad thing.

I see it differently personally. Much of the media speculation is not coming from a vacuum. There hasn't always been this "robsten" craziness, and Ted is not influential enough to make it happen on his own.
Some of this is purely the media jumping on the bandwagon. Robert and his "love life" sells.
Some of this though is how Robert and kristen have been dealing with the issue differently since Spring in terms of not confirming or denying. That's a classic deflectionary move, and the minute people in the media pick up on that strategy, they start going nuts. The decision to stop talking about their private lives, not offering denials like they did in the past, skipping red carpets, etc. have helped feed the frenzy.
That doesn't mean they are together, but this attention is not coming out of nowhere either. Of course people are going to circle like sharks unfortunately.

You gals are right on....the not answering questions is feeding the frenzy. I'm sure they are being told by Summit not to say anything. And their co stars saying they don't know whats going on is B.S.! They all know! It's all marketing. Personally, I don't think they're together. They have denied it repeatedly before...now I'm sure Summit has said "Oh, lets not say ANYTHING and that will get everyone all riled up! Even Melissa Rosenberg said "People confuse on screen chemistry with off screen chemistry." Dosen't that say something? They're not together! You're all right...the media and everyone has ignored all this and just chooses to believe they are together.
Like I said before...why can't Rob just be a single guy? My brothers were all single in their 20's. One of them hardly dated til he met and married his wife at the age of 26. It's OK for Rob to be single! I wish the media would get a grip! But...this sells, and its getting New Moon the attention....so...there's my say! :)
Rob and kristen are not acting on their own, I actually believe that, they are both well-represented. But I don't think they are acting all on summit's part either. Robert and Kristen have their teams, and their people are not going to let Summit put them in positions that compromise their lives to such a degree as going on along with romance rumors which have made their personal lives intolerable for months now.
Studios have not had that sort of influence over their stars since the 50's. Stars are not beholden to studios anymore like the old days, they are free agents and they are well buffered by managers and agents. Rob doesn't go three feet without one of his people scurrying along behind him. lol
That doesn't mean they are together at all. They have their reasons though for not talking about their private lives, and Robert frankly is too big of a star to be a studio's bitch and letting his personal name and celebrity and lie go through the ringer for "free publicity."
ps: I personally don't buy either the shipper or the nonshipper ideas that Summit has as much power as their theories afford them.
Shippers think Rob and kristen were kept apart from eachother contractually or at least through hardballing by Summit.
Nonshippers think Rob and Kristen are both engaging in some promotional gossip to keep NM afloat.
I say both theories are completely outlandish honestly, studios don't have that much power over their stars either way. Neither instance can be contractual, and their people would never tolerate their stars being treated with so little regard in either instances.
Oh I'm not saying they are studio bitches....I totally understand that. But I'm sure the studio has a certain marketing plan, and confers with them and/or their agents and come up with ideas such as "lets not say anything....good marketing for New Moon". I'm sure if Rob and KS didn't want to do this they wouldn't. Why wouldn't they anyway...it's not hurting them really. I'm sure the truth WILL come out eventually. When all this dies down, and they move on to other films....then we'll all know sort of what really happened...I for one am looking forward to finding out! :)

Gotcha, lovesrob, i was talking in general too, not to you specifcally.
But this is hurting them unfortunately. Robert is getting overexposed, and he's too new of a star to be on tabloids and not let that define him more than his acting. Brad is a tabloid figure too, but he's got two decades of film to balance it out. Poor Rob has one starring role under his belt, and now he's stuck alongside Jon Gosselin and Jessica Simpson on the tabloids. That's HORRIBLE for him honestly, it's overexposing him and the harder it will be for him to escape the Edward Cullen tag the more his celebrity is associated with it.
Kristen's had a hard deal too. She was not papped that much, until rumors started igniting in summer. Since then she's been a relentless target and while Rob is at least seen favorably, she's often a tabloid target of ridicule, whether it's scrutinizing her body or her once respect acting resume. She's being dismissed as a one note Bella actress lately, when before Twilight she was highly respected as an indie actresess.
So, there's a price they are paying for this gossip fodder., most definitely.

Kristen at least has a really great resume to her name, she had a name before Twilight. She had a reputation as an up-n-comer. Robert doesn't have any of that--all he has was that he was the pretty boy who got killed in HP4. Now he's famous playing a pretty boy again.
Robert's sorta screwed people, with this attention he's getting. It's too much for someone with no experience and that's what sets people up to say "he's so five minutes ago" the minute the series is through. Robert would not be putting himself through this for publicity-he's said so himself that he's looking long term and he's not going to compromise his chances by simply focusing on the success of the franchise.
I read all youro comments and agree totally. im one of the few that dont believe theyre together. I do believe theyve hooked up. Not dating just bangin. Keeps it simple. anywho-just my opinion. The whole media frenzy is orchestrated. Im sure the pr people are gettin put to good use.what pisses me off is the tabloids dont even do a little research-they just make up the craziest crap . Ok mag has sunk to a new low with that lovenest crap.

Rosa I think ROb is gonna be around for a LOOOOOOOng time. Hes got a huge fanbase now and because he sings,plays guitar and piano,composes his own music-well lets not forget hes gorgous,down to earth,not a jerk and mysterious. We come beggin for more everythime! lol! I cant wait for all his future projects-Im a diehard fan. He blew up-females of all ages love him and some of the gay brothers too. He aint going nowhere without a crowd anymore-I just hope the frenzy dies down a little bit. People get photographed having a bite-but this guy cant even go out sometimes. I cant even imagine the aggravation.yeah-i cant even see him overexposed...
I hope he is in it for a long time, but his current fanbase is part of his woes. lol And that's part of the problem of being a teen idol, teen fanbases are fickle, demanding, and rigid about what they want him to be in.
I say as long he pulls a johnny depp and stomps on his pretty boy status, he'll probably be okay. But fans need to see they are part of his problem though, the media only follows him because there's a demand. And teh demand is making him overexposed like others have said.
Bad publicity, good publicity, is publicity. The only one winning in this Robsten mess is Summit. Whether this is a move on their part or not, Summit is still winning. I only believe one thing, Rob and Kristen's management team suck.
You ladies make me laugh! Ted C. works for E!, someone else very close to R/K works for E as well. Ted has been in the biz for 20 yrs. do you think he'd stand behind "Robsten" for over 6 mos. now and risk his reputation if it wasn't true? For those of you living under a rock not seeing the clues, get some prozac, you will need it. And don't bother bashing me as some crazy "shipper", I hate that word and would never ship people, I'm a fan of them individually and/or together, I won't be back.

I don't know Rob personally and so can only extrapolate and analyze from his words, but it seems to me that he is not one to calculate on how to 'play the game;' that is, he will not make moves to have people remember him in a certain way, or to 'stomp' on a role, or to look deliberately for a different fan base to have more appeal to studios. It seems to me that he will do what he wants-- take on roles that teach him, or draw something new from himself, or that help him explore himself or other issues- roles that interest HIMSELF with no concern about the fickleness of fanbase or demands from studios. I also think that if he can NOT do what he wants, if there are no interesting roles offered, he will do something else-- hopefully, his music, where he really would have the freedom to do what he wants, and express himself in new ways, from his soul, and/or develop his own studio or label. In other words, I don't see him being a whore (excuse my language if it offends)to studios, fans, etc.
