EXCLUSIVE:
There have been lots of questions about “Breaking Dawn,” including when will production start, where will it be shot, who will be cast as the daughter of Robert Pattinson’s Edward and Kristen Stewart’s Bella, and who will direct the fourth “Twilight” film?
With all the enthusiasm for the release of “New Moon” — just a little more than a month away — as well as the tremendous interest in the filming of “Eclipse,” “Breaking Dawn” should seem a no-brainer.
However, despite reports that “Breaking Dawn” has been greenlit and production will begin in September 2010, Gossip Cop can report exclusively that, as of now, nothing is official.
A rep for Summit tells Gossip Cop exclusively, “The film has not been greenlit – and thus no decisions about the film’s shooting location, start date, the director, etc… have been made.”
We (Robsessed) will post any more updates on 'Breaking Dawn' news as we see it come out.
Thanks to rpattzgirl for sending us the link to the info above.

Thanks Dani!
Girls don't pack yet, but there's still hope!
God I need to get my day started and stop Robsessing for at least an hour!
Love the pic Dani!! ;-)
Wow this is an interesting development,
i wonder what caused the mix up in the first place, internet rumors or inaccurate info....what ever the mix up iam hoping the movie gets the green light soon. Love Bellward.
OMG!
That lucky KrisBella...
Love some tortured RobWard myself.
I would give my little left finger if Rob could come here and kiss me like that. Jus'like that!!
A kiss. To start. :)
Very nice start, endeed...
*siiiiighhhh*
Thanks for the pic, excel.idea.
I think sometimes people don't understand that the saga is a package deal for most of us. That means that we consider that the saga has to be made in it's entirity. At least that's my take.
We're going to be interested and invested regardless of what movie has been released, what movie is soon to be released, and what movie is being filmed.
It's an obsession and all encompassing. I'm not speaking for all, just most Twihards.
I wonder if they're waiting to greenlight BD like they did for NM depending on box office numbers.
Cross your fingers ladies.
I really can't imagine that they won't do BD...would they have only done a couple of the LOTR movies? I just don't think that they'd go through with the first 3 movies and not the 4th, especially with how huge this saga is. I say, no worries, ladies! :)
I don't understand what they're waiting for, how can they not make BD? And how long can they put it off for? Rob is going to look 40 by the time they get around to filming it, what are they going to do, pretend he's Doris Day & shoot him through gauze? Plus, what if the actors start booking other jobs, getting everybody's schedules coordinated is going to be harder the longer they wait.
Ha!! what did I say, in the last post? I'd wait until I heard something from Summit.
The information IS correct. It came directly from Production Weekly, which lists the most up-to-date, current production information available to the entertainment industry. Their information is 100% accurate. Summit does not confirm anything until the last moment, or after the fact. I am shocked you have not figured this out yet.

@Marna,
lmao with the Doris Day comment! There's a blast from the past!
Alan, who are you?
One more thing, I posted the information late last night, and Summit DOES NOT answer the phone or Emails on weekends! So how do you claim to have confirmed anything that I posted late last night on a Saturday.

Im not worrying! I cant see they would do the first 3 films and then not go ahead with the 4th! Fans would go crazy and its not as if they cant afford 2 go ahead with BD!!! fingers crossed that their give the green light soon!
I don’t know who the rep was who said BD has been not been ‘greenlit’ - meaning they are moving forward with financing, finding a director and so on – but think they are obfuscating. Melissa has already been working on the script. I think some background work has also already been done. Certainly it can mean they have not finalized dates for principle photography or location. Would agree that may well be subject to change and often is. Already has happened once.
And I do agree that despite the accuracy of PW, until Summit, Sunswept or Imprint make an ‘official’ statement via PR it remains in the realm of ‘official speculation.’ However, that doesn’t mean BD is a unicorn until Summit decides it isn't.
I am happy not to post more 'spec' if it causes anxiety or furor.
Alan, I think your beef is with GossipCop and should be addressed at their site.
Doris Day was shot through gauze?
Re: Breaking Dawn--is it possible there is no official green light because they are not sure yet, since the script is being written now, if it will be managed in one film or will necessitate 2?
(I don't know anything about the film world; just have a logical mind which can only work as far as the premises and information are accurate, and then goes beyond the 'box':-))
You know, New Moon Edward doesn't look 17 anymore, and I imagine Eclipse Edward won't either. I watched "Twilight" this afternoon with my Niece from Victoria BC, (silly girl hadn't seen it yet..and she's right THERE!) Now she's hooked but on her way to Africa for 2 months to help save some roaming Elephants and is worried New Moon will be out of the theatres when she gets back in early January, unless they'll still be playing it in Wales when she's there in December..Like I really feel sorry for her globe trotting life...ahem..NOT! Serves her right huh? She shouldn't have had her head up her ying yang all these months. Oh..what was I saying? Oh yeah...
Rob _could_ pass for a mature 17 year old in "Twilight", but NM and Eclipse is going to be pushing it. Everyone will accept him of course, because we all love our ♥Robward♥. However, putting off "Breaking Dawn" until September 2010 is going to be a serious stretch I think, he'll be 24 by then and we've all seen how much he's matured in just one year.
He'll still be expected to look 17 though. I really don't know how they'll pull this off if they wait that long. Plus the time line between NM and Eclipse is only 6 months between release dates, starting Breaking Dawn in September or later will make at least another year between releases. I don't know, I just feel that all this gobbly-gook is spin to keep us guessing and I'm really wondering if they'll really make it at all. You know and I know they can't replace Edward, he and perhaps maybe Kstew are the only two they can't replace at this point.
From photos from Eclipse shoot, ROb DID, to me at least (and I work with kids and adults of all ages, including 17 yr olds)pull off looking 17.
Of course, I don't know how much longer he can. As for New Moon, which was made before Eclipse, 'Edward' looked older, but for most of the scenes it was a darker self. He looked younger and more vulnerable, especially at the Volturi scenes. So so far, IMHO, Rob CAN pull off a sweet 17 year old look.
Thanks for explaining, A. :-) I feel as if I learning a new world; certainly a new language!
May be getting too cerebral for this venue, but I am wondering now how much cultural bias influences our views of what is 17. In my world, because most girls are marrying at 19 or 20, and boys not much older (usually 21-23) they seem to mature earlier; I look at the 13 year old boyss and see them as looking and behaving more as young men than they are portrayed in the outside world. And since Edward came from a time when people married earlier, it might be logical that he was more mature at 17 to begin with, even without having 100 years of experience. Bella was an exception to him, and that really was portrayed well in the movie, with the rest of the classmates totally immature and obnoxious--behaviour that I had seen in 5th and 6th grade, not 11th or 12th grade.
Girls... this Alan Baltes looks hot too... Do you think it is really him in the photo? lol!
Alan: show up here more often...
Ugghh, I was freaking out because I live in Portland. I thought I was given a second chance, b/c the first time they filmed here Rob was just the guy with a unibrow they chose to play Edward...Oh how I regret that I did not see beyond the brow at the time.
Should I be holding my breath that they decide against making the movie at all?
*blushes* I loved the series... but not this last book, and for the life of me, I just can't imagine how it will translate to film..
@ Tess ~
Of course they will make the movie. It is all about money ~ and it will make big BIG money for sure; being a weird book or not.
I hated the way too many vampires from all over the world in the book. And the final fake/neverhappened/battle.
The honeymoon was great. Lots for imagination. Well WAY TO MUCH for my imagination... ok, ok, she is a mormon... The birth was the weirdest part... jus'awful! Bella's transformation in vampire was cool. And then the end, it was cool too.
Eclipse is my favorite...
Perhaps, if it is true that Stephanie Meyers was rushed with the last book, the movie will be a vehicle for her to make things better, make things right. Perhaps, if she has second thoughts about some things, or better thoughts over time, (we do this so much in writing!) she can have arranged in the screenplay, and translated onto film, something that will be wonderful!
Well, aside from some scenes on the island, there is one moment from BD I would like to see. The description of Edward's face when he sees Bella coming towards him at the wedding. That look is one I would like to see Rob do. Yeah, he'll say he can't do it..blah, blah - but I know he can, and I think it would be wonderful. :)
Now I have to go and get something to eat...and drink, of course.
