Gossip Cop couldn’t pass up on pointing out how ridiculous this “Robert Pattinson Is Engaged!” story is.
While the blog Allie is Wired reports as fact that Robert Pattinson is engaged, and goes to lengths to say he hasn’t proposed to Kristen Stewart or “any of his co-stars,” the item is missing one teensy weensy detail — to whom?!
Hmm. Maybe Cinderella? The Little Mermaid? They’re both as real as this story.

He has said in interviews that he's only had two serious relationships and that his last one ended back in what 2007?
The girl who is an interior designer and lives in his home country of England. He said that they were still friends but not dating or in a relationship. So this rumor makes no sense whatsoever.
Yet they claim he has had the same girlfriend for the last four years.
I think somebody wants attention even when it's negative attention.
I really don't care if they are together or not. All I know is that when Rob looks at Kristen he lights up like a Christmas tree!!
First and foremost, I just wanted to mention that I love this site :) I read it WAY too much.
Okay, back to the new rumor at hand. Why would an actor that many didn't know about, and who didn't expect Twilight to be "so big," have the cast sign documents for the "safety" of his "current" girlfriend at the time? It just isn't logical.
But, anyway, it doesn't matter, does it? I tend to believe that almost EVERYTHING we find online, etc. is the result of PR, management, etc. throwing in excerpts of gossip to get the ball rolling.
Granted, I'm sure there is the occasional slip of someone that "knows" the actor/actress well, or maybe a kiss that the "couple" didn't "actually" want to be noticed. I'm sure this happens.
I'm sure that the truth does come out of these rumors at times---especially when it's the intention of it. Studios, PR, managers.....anyone involved with the success of actors will do quite a bit to keep us talking.
Of course, this comes to the total bull rumors. I think these are often leaked, fully intentionally, by someone who has some sort of stake in the success of their client, and I'm sure the actor doesn't always know it's the case.
I'm going to venture that some actors could care less about these rumors, while some hate it and would be irate to found out who actually started them.
Either way, it works doesn't it? Even though I come up with this logic, and there is probably some truth to it.....am I still online reading it? YUP.....so very ironic.
