New York Daily News claims he is unhappy in NYC because of the over zealous fans. The truth is every time I watch a paparazzi video I feel like crap for posting these pictures. Yet I still do. It's a constant dilemma...
Robert Pattinson's sexy brooding isn't an act: The "Twilight" star is seriously bummed by New York ... and its women!
On-set sources from the hunky Brit’s new film, "Remember Me," now filming in the Big Apple, reveal that the actor is hopelessly homesick for London.
"Robert is dying to get back home," says an insider. "He's so over everything. He's overwhelmed by all the girls — they terrify him! He says girls grab his neck and clothing all of the time, and he’s not used to that. Fans don’t do that to him in London. Everyone there is a little cooler about the fame thing, which is what he’s used to.”
The star’s blatant unhappiness even has his "Remember Me" co-stars concerned. "He's so skinny and stressed. Everyone on set is worried about him," confesses our source.
Clearly Pattinson, who shot to fame as teenage vampire Edward Cullen in "Twilight," isn’t enjoying his heartthrob status — or the female attention. "Robert doesn’t understand why everyone is going so crazy over him," continues the insider.
“He’s embarrassed by the way girls throw themselves at him. The girls here are stalking him. He stayed in two different hotels over the course of four days just to try to escape the fans who were following him. He's afraid that if he gives a hand, they’ll take the whole arm. He’s being advised by security not to encourage the crowd, so he doesn’t even look up anymore."
True to form, the gorgeous star kept his head down early last week at the Crestwood Train Station in Yonkers, where “Remember Me” was filming. During one break, he headed to local bakery Martine’s, where an eyewitness observed, “He was completely silent in public, but when he got back to the crew, he was saying how glad he was to be away from prying eyes in Manhattan.”
This isn’t the first time that Pattinson’s public paranoia has reared its head. He told an Australian magazine back in June that he started crying while shooting “New Moon” in Italy because, “I [cry] when people are screaming at me.”

I know most Robsessors find it really difficult to believe...(I know I do)... but he is only human after all. It's perfectly acceptable for him to have a grumpy/mopey/sad day... however I hope he doesn't have them too often as these days tend to make me grumpy/mopey/sad too. I much prefer seeing pictures of him smirking/smiling/grinning as these guarantee to put the exact same expression on my face!
I also have the dilemma of a love/hate relationship with the papz... hate them because surely they only add to his stress which brings us the grumpy/mopey/sad pictures, but love them because they fuel our addiction... it's a difficult predicament to be in.
So yeah ... not to be a bitch, but I'm guessing he may be tired of the rumors, but I would also agree that he is a method actor (as he said in Japan) and that prolly does have a lot to do with it.
Not to be a bitch, but sometimes I think we overanalize everything Rob, right down to his facial expressions. We have no idea what's going thru the boys mind.

I can see it happening soon .... articles are going to start having negative slants to them, the tide is going to start turning on the poor guy ... geez the dude can only put up with so much, I would have gone postal a long time ago with the amount of pressure he has in his life with the rumors, innuendo and just total lack of privacy.

I read a few more articles and the source is Brosnan, I got this from an Irish article. He says he's seriously worried about Rob's health and confirms that Rob is very unhappy in New York. He says Rob is losing way too weight and is constantly stressed out. I tend to believe it. At the beginning of the week he didn't look too bad, but all the later photos of him as the week went on he looked terrible and wasn't looking up, there was hardly a smile at all on those later photos.
Those videos upset me too, he was not the usual Rob at all and did look paranoid. I really haven't ever seen such mayhem when they've been shooting a movie before.
With the way that I STRONGLY feel about what all of this has done to him and to his life, I'm thinking that maybe I ought naught to be here. It's fun and all, but extremely hypocritical on my part. If I didn't feel this strongly, then no problem. But I do. And I don't judge anyone for how or why they choose to participate in a fandom. Everyone has to decide for themselves where the lines in the sand are.
I'm sure that in a few years when all this Twilight insanity has passed, that he'll get some semblence of his life back. But that's gonna be a tough couple of years for him and I just don't want to part of IT anymore. I'm not trying to be dramatic here or get people to say...'oh no, don't go.' It's just that with his emotional make up, I think there is a possibility -just a possibility- that this catastophic wave of fame that has hit him like a tsunami, could COULD become a VERY dicey proposition for him. I know others feel differently, but my instincts are telling me (screaming at me) otherwise. I see red flags flying all around this kid and I did from the first day I met him. So...being involved in a fandom at this level (a first for me), has been from the start, an exercise in ambivelance.
As for those I've "talked" to in e-mail, I'd really like to see where those friendships could go. I'd still love to "chat", but I'm having computer problems at the moment (can't seem to hold an internet connection for more than 10 minutes at a time). So, please be patient with me.
I still want to talk about Rob. In fact, it scares me a little to think that I have this NEED to do so. But I do. And I will. Just not publicly anymore. I talk too much anyway and I'm sure that Goz and Dani will be glad to see their blog return to normal. Thank you girls for putting up with me. You have a wonderful site here and I'm pretty sure that if Rob were aware of it (and he might be), that he would get a kick out of it. You ladies here are great and he's lucky to have such wonderful and caring fans.
Besides...since I've been playing here, my book has been woefully neglected. So, I'll still be reading. Just won't be talking.

Ohhh. Lots of finger porn. love it. I think Rob is fine. He has a good head on his shoulders, and I'm sure it's annoying but he seems pretty good at ignoring it. He has to be loving that he is getting all these movies now! I know I am.
I think that is way too much interpretation! Just because of a few pictures on which he looks serious people assume that he's totally unhappy, hates NY, etc.? Oh please... Is everyone of those people running arround smiling all the time?? I'm not!
I remember Rob saying in several interviews how he hates those interpretation and allegations because of every face or every move he makes and that this is actually a reason for him to not allow fans to take pictures of/with him anymore. Remember, everyone has a bad day sometimes! And although the situation might be really annoying because of the crazy stalker fans in NY, we saw Rob pretty relaxed and in good spirits on most of the other (days) pictures. To me it looks like he's handling the whole hype since Twilight came out astonishingly well. And he's already gone through situations that were much worse... e.g. the never-ending Twilight promo-tour through all those shopping malls full of screaming "fans" or the crazyness that was Cannes... those were situations were I really felt so sorry for him and Summit just seemed to sell him out.
By the way: I think Rob looks great on those pictures. I really can't see why people claim he'd be so skinny that they'd even worry about him...

aw our poor baby is having a hard time. some women just need to give the man a break. i always say i want to meet the man but i wouldn't stalk him to do that. i'd just pray for a serendipitous encounter if i so happen to be in the area he's at.
and don't worry for posting the pap vids. it's what some of the fans want. i honestly steer away from those but i had a moment of weakness with the shirtless scenes from italy. i watched that a whole lotta times.

@Gozde: Great that someone finally agrees with me! If I had cameras on my face almost every hour of my life there'd be HEAPS of awful, distressing pictures!;-) And additionally I would really not feel like smiling for them anymore... I guess it's absolutely normal that you're becoming somewhat annoyed.
No paps pics have surfaced of him from the weekend, so that's good, right? I mean, hopefully he didn't sequester himself in his hotel room. I'm going to *hope* he had a fun-filled, drink-filled long weekend, and it's simply back to work on Monday......

ROB has said himself, he hates the screaming and crowds, and pushy woman, so i will just go by what the man in question has to say... he's just a 'kid' after all. i have a young son, and it is not easy at that age for them to stand up and stick up for themselves.
It may be that working long hours, with no time off, has his nerves frayed. he is slated to work for what? the next three years non stop? the studio should be afraid to burn him out,

I'm sure he is stressed and hates constantly having his picture taken. But I don't understand why if he is not smiling in every picture he must be miserably unhappy or heading for a breakdown. I don't walk around smiling all the time. If I was photographed all the time I'd probably have people saying I was unhappy too. He's said he doesn't have to smile for the papz, so why should he. I also wouldn't believe the quotes attributed to Pierce Brosnan - they say "A source close to the set said that Brosnan was concerned about Pattinson" This is not a quote from Brosnan. Its a quote from the always reliable source. For all we know Brosnan hasn't even been on set yet. Remember all the sources who made claims before Rob was even on the set of New Moon.
I have this crazy theory, that it is monday morning what we see and I don´t know you, but I would love to look as hot as he looks, with my pissed off face "I don´t want to go to work" that I have every monday morning; specially because I have to step at my work at 6 am (so annoying to be up so early, specially on monday) and I bet he has in his work some crazy hours he has to be on set too, it is part of his job.
Is he fed up with the paps? with the fans? is that part of his concentration to get into the brooding character he is performing?... I have no idea.
I believe that whatever we might be thinking, we don't know what really goes on in his head.
It must be stressfull, and I really am against fan set stalking (even friendly and tame, he needs space to work). If you really like the guy, you don't do things that bother him, such as stalk him and shout.
Papz on the other hand don't care, he means money to them, so nothing can be gained there, but fans should want what's best for him~

But let's not overanalyse each picture. I'm not a chipper mood every day, so why should it be the case for him?

I'm British from London and I am utterly shocked and pretty discussed by the way America welcomed our British star in such an over bearing way. I love American's, in fact it's one of my favorite countries to visit and Ive been there more than anywhere in the world. I've even worked there. So please don't take it personally that I'm pissed about this whole situation.
But this kind of thing brings a bad name to American's all because of these crazy fans and paps and sites like this posting the stalking photos. It almost mirrors the Princess Diana tragedy! I watched a press release with George Clooney.

I'm always putting my heart out on this blog and I wrote what I felt when I watched paparazzi videos. I do feel like crap. Will I stop posting them? No. I won't. Dani and I made up our minds a long time ago that unless the pictures are very personal/intrusive or the situation in which they were taken are unacceptable we will post them.
We refrained from posting a lot of personal photos and some videos.
Will I post a photo of Rob in London having a private dinner at his family's home? Absolutely no! Will I post a photo of Rob having dinner in a posh LA restaurant, probably yes. Will I post a photo of Rob filming his movie in NYC? You bet your ass I am.
Truth of the matter is all of these come with the territory.
I also heard that Rob is considering giving up acting after the completion of Braking Dawn to concentrate on his music and writing. After BD he will be set for life. If it's true, good on you Rob, see you back in the London pubs playing very soon ;)
So wideyes edited a bit and reposted. I think I said all I could. There are sites that do not post pap pictures. Actually one that was strictly against them started posting them last week which surprised me but didn't shock me. Rob fans want to see Rob :)

I think if you check the date I posted that video. You will see that was way back. What really changed my view was seeing the recent pap Videos. I made my mind up to keep clear of it all when I realized how he was being treated and how that was affection his work. And more so recently reading how he is not happy about all this. Wideeyes, how dare you blame the American people and then ask us to not take it personally! You are blaming a whole nation for something that is a WORLD WIDE phenomenon. I do believe some of the pics and stories we have read recently have included MANY women from other countries coming all the way to New York to stalk Rob.
None of this is strictlthe "Americans" fault, it is the studio's fault for choosing to not have closed sets for filming. They are allowing all this to happen and not taking the necessary precautions to stop it.
Gozde and Dani are doing a fantastic job on this site, it is done all with love and caring for Rob. No o ne forced anyone to click on this site or to come back repeatedly. If you do not like what you see here, it is simple, turn off your $1000 computer and walk away, don't harass or disrespect the owners!

Ok...just one more comment from me..someone I can't recall who and I don't have time right now to go through all the posts, singled out Canadians coming across the border to gawk..common...as of June 1st U.S. customes has required us to have a current passport to cross the border. Passports in Canada are exprensive, I've never owned one and niether have most of the people I know. I have my application, but it's not filed out as yet, we need another pay cheque. They are turning hundreds of people back at the border right now. So please..besides, we are a lazy bunch of hosers, we don't go driving 600 miles to gawk. But perhaps I'm just talking about Montrealers here..:) You never know what those Torontonians are capable of..hehehe

Just don't think about it too much or "don't take it personal"!;o) What you're doing with this site is just great! I always felt like your really respectful towards Rob and although you obviously love him and have a crush on him as much as we all do you're really down to earth and still realistic enough. You never postet any locations for Robs shooting and you really made it clear that you don't appreciate the crazy stalking behaviour of some fans at all.
These are some important reasons why this is the ONE fan blogg I visit. As you can tell from my bad english ;-) I'm not American (I'm from Germany)and of course we have a lot of our own Rob and Twilight fansites here aswell. But nevertheless Robsessed really is the only one that is interesting to me and in comparison to most of the other sites I never felt embarrassed by this one. Your comments are just hilarious and I often end up nearly dying of laughter.
So, I really hope that I don't sound like I'd be just trying to suck up to you ;o) Honestly, that's not me! But I just wanted to tell you how I love your site and that you really don't need to give much credit to certain comments... You're doing a great job here! I think not even Rob himself would feel bad, embarrassed or negativ in any kind of way about your site if he might visit one day. ;-)

You have some good points. I did think about the screaming fans at the London premiar and the bullshit star mags (rolls eyes)
But I think Rob expects the hysteria at public events like premiers and public appearances. Goes with the territory (like Goz said) and he even seems to enjoy it there.
It's when he's trying to work or have personal space that he hate it.
When he came home for Christmas there was hardly any photos of him. I think he was photograph only once when he was out the whole two months and a couple with fans in pubs which he willing had taken and was all smile in. I think it's ok sometime for that. Nice to see even. But all the time is sad :( and not in his face while he's trying to work. Must be so hard to concentrate. Let's hope it doesn't affect the movie.
I remember he was photographed so little here that people said he had disappeared for two months haha! Just hope it's like that the next time he goes home. He's gonna need a brake after this. I heard he's only got 3 days of before starting Eclipse though.

Rob really is an international phenomenon. And by the way, as far as I remember it actually has always been the British one known as being the worst and most famous yellow press worldwide. What happened to Diana happened there (except for her death in Paris)...
Furthermore most of Robs fans aren't really that bad. Since those three crazy stalker girls assaulted him one of his first days of shooting "Remember me", most of the other fans being there seemed to be quite amicable and normal. In all of those videos you can only see them standing arround, watching and waiting patiently. I think they only want to see Rob, maybe take a picture or even get an autograph from him. That's not really that bad... And remember: Rob's into all of this on his own free will! So if he'd really start to hate it all or if the disadvantages of his job would actually outweigh the advantages for him he could always get out of it. But from all of his interviews you get the impression that Rob actually loves what he's doing and appreciates his success. When someone once asked him something like that he said that he doesn't like it when actors/stars complain about their situation/their fame and in Cannes he said that he thinks it would be lame if he still said that he couldn't get used to his popularity and all the crazyness that comes with it.
I'd rather think that Rob might be sad sometimes not because of his job, papparazzis or his fans but because of his current lifestyle. I can imagine that it must be hard sometimes to always be away from home, family and his close friends... maybe he often feels lonely while being surrounded by hundreds of people... Because even if everyone suddenly seems to love you, runs after you people scream at you and would even die to talk to you etc... at the end of the day they are nothing but strangers and you're still sitting allone in you're hotel room.
But he chose this life! And I think most of the time he really enjoys it.
I agree with you mohnmarzipan1 paps are the same all around the world. I just know he got two months of peace the last time he was home.
I'm sure some of the paps are english living in NYC now.
I think people are over analyzing this whole thing. If it gets to much he can retreat back home to England for some peace and quiet and family time.

YEAH AND BRITISH COMEDY IS KILLER, I HAVE MY COMPLETE SET OF 'FAULTY TOWERS' oh and BRITS are beautiful, gratious and generous people...
anyway Wildeyes, dont feel bad, Rob will be okay, and you'll get him back on homesoil soon enough..
Nik6 I have always felt very strongly about Robs lack of privacy and how visiting the sites adds to that. I am bothered that my curiosity is feeding the frenzy. I have been visiting this site for some time now, but not so much lately. Yes the hypocrisy thing does bother me.
wideeyes...I do agree with you on some of what you say. After all how many pictures of the same thing do we need to see?
I also agree that there are Americans behaving badly in NY right now.. both the fans and the paps... BUT if this was in Australia, where I am, I am not sure it would be any different. Our press can be horrendous and in every culture there are people who want to have their 'one minute of fame'.
The internet and all gossip and fan sites has made it so much easier and (even worse)acceptable to chase down the star and get their moment posted for all the world to see.
I was astounded to read, when Rob was filming NM in Canada, that people where travelling there from all parts of the states and posting pictures and stories about their adventure!!??. It was insane, but, because we are all so keen to imbibe every single bit of his air.. WE ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM. We all need to take responsibility for what is happening to him now.
There are many intelligent people on this site but the consensus of opinion, I fear, seems to flow in the direction that Rob is fair game. ( I may be wrong and I apologise to all the people who would not like that comment in advance)
There are those of you who will immediately say that if he did not have all the fans he would not be successful.
RUBBISH!!! He is talented. He is good enough to succeed without all this hoopla.
How much better for him if he could go back to having a normal life. To not have his picture taken every moment he steps out in public. To not have people all wanting a part of him every minute of every day.
Some of you say we do not know what he thinks or feels so we should not judge that he is unhappy. That is true, but put yourself in his shoes. Would you be happy to live your life as if you were on a stage 24/7 with an extremely large audience watching you as Rob is doing at the moment. I hear that he is even getting heckled whilst he works. How sad is that??
I think he is a truly sensitive person. There are several more years that he is tied up with this crazy movie schedule he has taken on. Is this level of pressure going to keep up?
For his sake I hope not....

I have such a dilemma...I love him and want to see him..but I don't want people stalking him. I feel bad...it must be terrible to have everyone grabbing at you. I'm sure originally thought it was due to Edward but now knows it's due to "Rob".
katykeene, You took the words right out of my mouth. I think there has to be the media/fan site. That's what makes a star famous and keeps them famous. But I also think a line needs to be drawn. I think the occasional pix on set is fine. Like the New Moon shoot. As long as it doesn't start to affect the actors and there ability to make the movie.
God know why these endless repetitive pix are taken though. They all start to look pretty much the same, like we said. But with Robs face getting more fed up in them.
The paps take them because the magazine keep buying them and the sites keep posting them and we keep buying them and viewing them. I guess I feel responsible when I watch the nasty vids seeing how they get them.
It's the fans that loose out in the end. Already the old Rob has gone, to be replaced with a much more cautious and withdrawn Rob.
Lets just hope he doesn't turn out like Micheal Jackson hehe!
wideeyes.. I do not think for one moment that Rob will turn out like MJ as you mentioned. Michael was a gentle/sad man who became famous at a very young age. He was exploited by everyone (if what I have read about his life is even half true.) He never had the safe loving family upbringing that Rob appears to have had.
God, didn't Rob joke that his dad suggested that he join the drama club to meet girls. Now that is funny and ordinary and obviously his dad is a bit of a joker, but not a pushy parent wanting to live off his son's ability unlike MJ's experience.
There has not been anything funny or ordinary about MJ's life.
The media circus we are seeing surrounding his untimely death makes me sick and just reiterates to me that I would be glad for Rob to never have that sort of fame.
I also agree that Brits do not put quite the same amount of intensity into their adulation as Americans do. The HP kids come to mind here. Someone mentioned Diana. I think she was an extreme exception to the rule. Come to think of it I think that may be one area your argument falls down because of the die hard royalists. Now that is Idolatry. Ha! Ha!
Also all countries have their gossip vendors. Sad to say that America and England both have one in common who hails from my country. I will have to go and wash my mouth out after mentioning the name... Rupert Murdoch.

katykeene, I know he wont turn out like Micheal. That was just my attempt at dark humor. While Micheal was alive. The whole media thing was so out of control, extreme. You had to laugh at it or you would cry.
I was thinking about what you said about the die hard royalists. I have to say I've never met one. Most english people don't like them and what them done away with 'so to speak' The others are indifferent to them, like me. I guess harry and William are ok though. Kinda cute :) I think the Royals have been far more popular in the USA then here for a long time, years. Although I'm sure there must be a royal lover somewhere in England haha!
I think there popularity died out even more with Diana death. (a few days before my wedding :( and that only took a couple of paps on motorcycles.
@ wideyes It is refreshing to hear that not all the English are royalists. Ha! Ha! The best thing that ever happened to them was Diana and I was so saddened by her death. It is a scary thing to know that the paps played such a significant part in that.
For my part I am an Australian that loves visiting your country but would very much like to see ours become a republic. Hence my anti-royalist comments.
I did get that you were joking about Michael. I just haven't mentioned how I feel about that, so used the opportunity... because it is sad to think of Michael and what fame did to his life. I am sure none of us want Rob's life to have any similarities with that at all.

My cousin just rang me to remind me Micheal's funeral is on TV at 5 pm here. In 1 1/2 hrs. Didn't know it was being televised. Not sure how I feel about that. Wonder if her would have preferred a private thing. Then again it almost a royal send off and shows how much he was loved.
:) Thanks for the nice words and the criticism. The problem with Rob in NYC doesn't seem like the fans. It's the paparazzi. I am supportive of everything Rob does and don't post crap without calling it crap. That's all I can do. I stand by our decision to post the pap pictures. I'm sure they'll go away once Eclipse starts shooting since that's a closed set. So enjoy the pictures while you can or don't. They'll be here for anyone that wants to see :)
