Didn't I tell you they were real? My poor little heart...
RadarOnline.com has an exclusive account from the Italian set of New Moon -- one that confirms Robert Pattinson's body is super and natural, and that, not even extras can concentrate while he's filming.
Our on-set source says that, despite the special affects abound in the vampire flick, the toned up bod belongs to RPattz and not a computer screen.
"He looks absolutely amazing, and the six-pack is real, so, so very real!" the source says.
Unfortunately, that very real six-pack could be costing New Moon's studio major bucks.
"There was plenty... to look at, but that didn’t stop many fans from blatantly ogling sexy, shirtless Robert," the source says, "That meant they had to re-do the scenes over and over and over again, which was frustrating for everyone involved."
Apparently, the extras couldn't keep focused on their on-screen busy work, all breaking character to catch a glimpse of Rob.
While we're fans of production going smoothly and, most importantly, on time -- can you blame those extras one bit?

Oh God, they're real? Those perfect abs....no way....it can't be true. Because if it is true, how can he possibly be more perfect than I already thought he was?

Of course they're real! I think the airbrushing everyone (extras) talked about was more contouring ... it's just like any stage make up, and I'm sure they had to do something to make them stand out on his pale skin.

I commented on another site where they were talking about the someone on set saying his muscles were air brushed. My comment is this, yes there is airbrushing, it is airbrushing that is strictly to define what he already has. They had already airbrushed his body to make it paler and they had to redefine his (wonderful) chest muscles or he would look strange (even for a vampire)

I'm afraid that if I had been on set the day they were filming this scene, they would have had to call security to drag me off of him. Good thing I wasn't there, or I could be in an Italian prison right now--and I wouldn't do well in prison since I'm a spoiled American! :) :) :) LOL
If I'd been onset I prolly would have just stood there, speechless and struck dumb.
I don't want to know how much work at the gym that six-pack meant. I just hope he didn't take any anabolic steroids to get it that fast.
Uh, F*#K ME. That first pic is by far my favorite of the shirtless set. But the second one shows the dips - oh how I want to lick those dips. Who cares if there's some airbrushing going on - looks like they had lots to work with!
I believe they are real... but they are definitely amped up with some make up. There is even that funny picture of Kstew holding his shirt open to have a look at the make up job. I'm sure they had an awkward giggle over it. All the girls I used to be in pageants with did this for swimsuit competition.

I read a girls blog who was one of the extras there, she stood not too far away from Rob and she said that he was even more Gorgeous in real life!! But I guess we all already knew that:) But yeah standing there and really see him for real, he must have been breathtaking!

Everyone I've ever talked to that has met him in real life has said he's way better looking in person. :)
they are real,just a bit enhanced,it's pretty common in movie making process,Keira's cleavage was enhaced for the pirates of the caribbean,the guys' abs from 300 were enhanced too. also with all that white powder they put on him,in order for the abs to show on film they had to contour them hence adding a bit of make up.
those who are saying they're not real are just jealous haters and Taylor fans feeling threatened lol

I can't blame those extras... I only have this pic as the wallpaper on my computer and I get lost staring at him... If he were in front of me in person - oh lord - I'd never get anything done. Well, that's not true... I'm sure I'd find something to do... ;)
If I met him in person, I would honestly be (if I recovered, that is) checking out his skin. In every day pics, it looks so healthy and soft, and I'm slightly bitter and jealous, lol. I'd love to see if it looks that good in person.

I was in Italy, yep I travelled there for the filming. I was an extra on the New Moon set on Thursday and Friday. I oogled too but ONLY between takes. I do believe that the director and production company was very happy with the group of extras on Thursday and it was basically the official wrap up day as well as they did alot of "official byes" with photos, filming us etc. Chris Weitz came out to thank us.
Rob's body sure is real, no trick there...and boy he looked good! All of the actors looked amazing! Kristen is so cute in real life and soooo tiny!!
It was a surreal experience being an extra, I had already expected it would have a lot of waiting around, standing for ages and only a few seconds of filming and it was. However, to see how it was all done in REAL life, REAL time, was very interesting for me. Just enjoyed the entire experience.
Also the last scene I believe we shot on Thursday I was literally a few meters away from Rob. 5 meters tops maybe? (I am crap with sight measures but I was close!) and only an eldery lady standing next to me. I only looked at Rob when they were NOT filming. When filming I did as I was told. I did well it seems cos the main guy who was responsible for the extras there put me there! LOL
Also on Friday I was together with some American girls *Lorri and Tonda if you are on here..CHEERS!!* and yet again we were up close to the cameras and nearby Kristin again. I looked at her only when they were not filming but not STARING if you know what I mean. Just took it all in to be honest. I did however had to REALLY concentrate on not staring into the camera as we passed by it cos it is really an "distraction" esp for someone not being used to filming and hey I think I did a good job lol. Atleast I wasn't yelled at and the other takes of the same scene were due to other things than me staring into the camera. Nor was any of us moved away.
So yes a GREAT experience overall and I just went there HOPING, not expecting to see anything. And I got to see the stars, every single day, got to be an extra for 2 days. Met TONS of really cool ppl, and just had the most amazing food, red wine and the most amazing sights as well in Montepulciano.
This trip exceeded everything I could hope for. The only thing that would top it is if I got a pic with ALL of the cast but of course that was unrealistic to hope for. I did get a pic with Charlie Bewley who is a very charming guy lol.
So yes I did "stalk" the set, but not in any intrusive way. I did not try to be an extra, but we sat at an restaurant at the Piazza Grande cos that restaurant was open during filming. Of course ppl there had to stay put and keep ordering thru the day but we wanted to have a chance go get a closer look at the filming. We showed up at 3 am in the morning, then at 6 am some security guy came over, asking if ppl wanted to be extras. Apparently they looked for older ppl. About 30 and up. Boy was I happy to be "Older" for a change!
I nearly didn't get in though cos I didn't have my passport but well my "desperate face" worked on the security guy so he talked the casting lady into letting me in as well. The lady was fine then, and she got my passport the next day so no problem from then on lol. I was just happy to be on there. I have no expectations to actually end up in the film or to see myself on camera, if I do end up there I will probably "die" laughing. Also a bit funny, if I do end up on camera at some point, my Bon Jovi shirt will show (they will probably edit out the name Bon Jovi due to copyright stuff but still...Bon Jovi was "in" on the filming LMAO.
I am gonna write down a "report" of my experience, and also upload pics. I got some decent ones. I was gonna do this today but my family demanded my attention today LOL.
hahaha--the extras couldn't keep from ogling or stay in character. god that is too funny-- Rob gives new meaning to the phrase "stopping traffic."

I was on the set of New Moon in Italy as an extra (27-28/5/09), and I'm extremely sorry to inform you that the six pack wasn't real!!! They were airbrussed and after every repeat of the scene, where Bella jumps on him, they were remade. But, fake or not, believe me ladies, the man was H O T!!!!!! I can still remember being breathless, my eyes trying to pop out and my mouth hanging open!!!!! I was lucky enough to see the kiss scene 7 times.....and every time was fu--ing hotter than the other!!!! I fullfilled a lifes dream!!!!
Maryann, I was at the pizza restaurant too!!! We kept ordering pizza's and giving them to the people around (well, until the owner refused to sell us more)!
I KNEW those were Rob's real abs! Makeup can never look THAT good. Plus, there was no mistaking the authenticity of his toned shoulders and chest... gahhhhh! I'm guessing he put a lot of time and effort into looking that good, so huge kudos to our boy for working is ass off. He looks absolutely fabulous... and again, I love that he's staying humble and isn't flaunting the fact that he has a delicious body now. You won't see him prancing around everywhere without a shirt on like some other actors do.
And it's too funny about the extras. I don't blame them at all - I'm sure I wouldn't be able to pry my eyes away from His Holy Hotness in all his glory either.

Glad that six pack is real!! I really think it is cute too that he kept putting on his shirt. He really is clueless to how amazingly gorgeous he is!! If I would have been the extras on set I would have been looking at him too....how could you think of anything else!!
I told you guys they were real just make up to hightlight, think about it could you paint ABS on John Goodman,or Jack Black of course not. The guy Looks good, TwiExaminer is reporting that, confirms Rob's ABS of steel are real htt://bit.ly/nHOZG, which I knew anyway! Everybody is saying he looks better in person. Wow! Go Rob!
My days as an Extra was on the 28th and 29th (Thursday and Friday) at some times I was so close to Rob I could have tapped him on his shoulder (he had his shirt on then but it was unbuttoned) but of course I did not touch him cos well, it wasn't the time or place. He just walked behind me and Kristen was next to him (no it wasn't something "candid" there...just 2 actors walking to set from their hotel!).
I was about 5 meters total from Rob during filming a scene and sorry but I disagree on these abs being fake. They ARE real but of course they were highlighted with makeup to show up on screen. He wasn't THAT buffed as these highlighted abs indicate but he had them none the less. My eyesight isn't that poor lol.
And I have to say ALL the actors look really stunning in person, with and without the movie makeup. Rob was drop dead gorgeous in person. Nothing fake about him or any of the other actors. In fact I found them BETTER looking in real life.
Oh hell - how did you keep breathing, is it it possible to be better looking than his photos?
And does he ooze sex?
He just freaking hypnotises me with those lethal eyes.
