Rob ranks in at #5
Why a #5 ranking: One of the biggest news in December of 2007 was British actor Robert Pattinson being cast as the lead in the much-awaited film Twilight. Twilight is a young adult / horror / fantasy / romance novel written by author Stephenie Meyer, originally published in hardcover in 2005. The story is about seventeen-year-old Isabella Swan, a girl who moves to Forks, Washington and finds her life in danger when she falls in love with vampire Edward Cullen. We reported earlier that the character of Isabella Swan will be portrayed by Kristen Stewart. Pattinson already has a huge following after the Harry Potter film, but he is more than just a pretty face. Beating out a number of hot and rising teen actors for the Twilight role, he definitely aspires to be a great actor someday.

Twilight and its sequel New Moon are not the only feature films for the actor; he also portrayed artist Salvador Dali in Little Ashes and coming up are three more exciting new films, including Unbound Captives and Remember Me.

Why #5- Rob is the hottest celebrity out there right now.I mean, I know he hasn't done a lot of roles compared to some, but you would be hard pressed to find another young actor who has so much media frenzy surrounding them.
Not to mention that he handles it all with such grace.

LOOOL LB, got to agree! I believe that Rob is new, and the fans need to stop putting him on top of every poll and feel like he should be first everywhere. Too much pressure for him. Can you believe some people wondered why he was not in the forbes list of most powerful people in the world?
And it annoys the non-fan to always see the guy from twilight everywhere they go - though I am sure some of them will see the light someday (soon)!
But I'm glad to see him on spot #5.

I will also point out that Rob himself is very wary of the hype. He doesn't think he's done anything that great so far, and he feels the pressure of now having to justify all the 'undeserved' praise. Can't remember which interview that was... I've seen so many... :p

I loved Twilight but after seeing Little Ashes I am totally convinced that Rob will go on to have a very lustrious and rewarding career!
I agree with you, PattinsonForever. I, too, saw LA and was blown away by Rob's performance. He's going to have a long and illustrious career.
He said in several interviews he's weary of the hype. He reaching for credibilty and doing a fantastic job flexing his artistic muscles with varied roles.
Our guy is smart he'll reach No.1, but with staying power.( whew didn't mean that in a crass way.)
Hrrmphh...#5... puhleese! They just don't know what they're talking about...#1 all the way! I agree with Mandy that there is not another celebrity right now who can change the percentage of viewers for the Oscars or the MTV Awards!! And then to have the personality, grace, humor, and hotness....

Thanks Stefani for the link to the NY pics. I am conflicted, however, that I want to look at them and yet I hate that he can't even lay low in NY. I think it's a dilemma for all of us robsessors who really care about him. Little Bear, you have a totally great point about the expectationans pressure. A happy Rob is a happy us!
