I volunteer to inspect the abs myself and rule, once and for all, if they are real or not. The things I'm willing to do for you guys has no limit! :)) And NO, I am not trying to find every article that mentions "abs" so I can post shirtless Robward pictures! ;)

Robert Pattinson's "New Moon" co-star Kellan Lutz has denied the actor resorted to make-up tricks to gain a muscled torso for the "Twilight" sequel.
The British star's stomach has come under scrutiny from Internet gossips in recent weeks, with many speculating his muscled appearance is the result of clever shading by the film's make-up artists.
But Lutz, who will appear alongside Pattinson in the vampire movie, insists his pal's sexy body is down to months of hard work in the gym with co-star Taylor Lautner.
Lutz tells the New York Daily News, "Taylor been training Rob a lot, and that's why he's got such ripped abs. Rob's been working hard. He's trying to be the best he can be."

His abs are real! (fanning herself again). We knew he was working out when he was in LA before shooting. Perhaps the makeup artist did a LITTLE shading, but not much i bet. Look at the side views of his arms, and the top of his shoulders (uh yeah, i have studied the pics...uhhhhhh, oops, lost track here......)
btw, i don't think he was working our WITH Taylor. Backstage after the MTV awards he said, about the trailer, it was the first time he had seen it and he said about Taylor something like "wow, that guys been working out!" as if he had not really seen Taylor like that. But whatever. Rob's body is ROCKIN!!

crazy, I had understood this comment as some kind of joke, because everyone feels the need to always say how much Taylor has beefed up for the part. It made me laugh...
But in a way, I can't image Rob and Taylor working out together... I don't know why! I mean, it would be logical though, just I did not feel like they spent that much time together (as if I knew anything about their schedule LOL).
I agree, Yvonne...love him with or without the abs but yeah, that body is nothing but sexy, sexy, sexy.
So if there was anyway we could get Kellan shirtless in New Moon too, that would be great. Actually, let's just have all the Cullen men sans shirts, shall we? I won't complain if they deviate a little from the story to make it happen...
they had to put a pale white makeup on Rob Hot Bod for the scene in the sun, so then it would be lookin "flat" all white, no natural shadows between muscles so they put makup shadows there they were needed and where they were unde the white
I cannot believe that ppl think that Rob's abs are airbrushed on him. I saw it in real life, IT IS REAL! I saw it fairly close enough to tell the difference between a fake one or a real one! Of course there was makup on him to enhance it to catch it on camera but that is just to make them stand out more. THEY ARE REAL!

I for one would not complain at your finding EVERYTHING that mentions abs so we can keep looking and looking and looking.....plus it makes it easier, I don't have to work so hard to find the pictures each day! HAWT!!! the abs are just icing...oh, icing... on Rob's abs...THUD

Hi, I think if you look at the sideway view photographs it is obvious they are the real deal as make up would not be able to disguise the wobbly bits when you are looking from the side.
But hey, if he has got love handles tucked away somewhere that's cool, it gives a girl something to grab onto...

Sorry, that's make-up on a nicely-toned body. If Rob were actually "ripped," why aren't his arms, legs and neck full of muscles, too? That's because the M/U is only on his abdomen. Kellan only puts the most positive spin on everything, he's such a nice guy (and they're VERY nice in North Dakota--have spoken to a couple customer service call centers based there!).
Maryann~I'm sure they looked great in person from a distance...but like Margot said, there has to be makeup enhancement for the camera. I used to be a maekup artist in another life and unless you are touching the actual skin, you'd be surprised what a bit of contouring can do.
Chicago girl now in LA, sorry for my clumsy post but I actually meant the same thing that you and margot posted. His abs are real but yes of course it had to be"enhanced" with makeup to show up on screen..that is what you meant right? So if I got your post's correctly we actually agree :-D.
