the problem with twilight is that it was too big a success with questionable quality... So it might lead some people to hate it (especially since it's still everywhere even if new moon won't open in theater for like 5-6 months?). I hoped that the hype would sort of calm down because the non-twilight fans will get sick of it, and of any actor attached to the project.
MTV movies awards are more a popularity contest: twilight and its cast are popular, but they also have a lot of haters because of it. I'm sure some people will vote as much as they can to make it loose.

That's probably why I only comment on this blog... I feel like sometimes, the fans are too much. I am annoyed that the journalists keep on thinking only tweens/teens and twilightmoms like Rob, but in the end, I'm more for the silent support (like going to see the movie if it's possible or purchaising a DVD).
A carrier is more in the long run, no need to trash film critics and gossipers. They will hopefully change their attitude after a while (espcially if he gets to play in good movies which sell lots of tickets).

As usual, I agree with your points... Twilight doesn't really deserve any awards, but then quality is not exactly what this is about, is it.
I want to see Rob win, not so much because of his role as Edward (not his best showing, imo), but because he's Rob and deserves the love.

A/L.A., That'a very true. Twilight really wasn't a great movie. I feel it could have been done so much better. Perhaps with a different director, although it has been pointed out before that a different director would probably have meant no Rob.
But the kiss genuinely was great. I can vote for that without feeling guilty that I'm just voting because I want Rob to win everything he's nominated for.
Certainly we can't let the Slumdog kiss beat it. That didn't come close.

Littlebear, I agree with you that there was some bad direction in Twilight. I hated how Edward was thrown against the wall after the kiss, it completely changed the mood of the scene. I felt it would have been more effective and torured if he simply pulled away and have Bella hang onto him a bit.

I haven´t been into anything related Mtv for many years, until Twilight, now I feel I have to vote, this Mtv movie awards are a popularity contest, and in that contest Twilight, specially Robert should win.
I don´t find Twilight as bad movie, I care for it, because it introduced me to Robert. When I first watched I was basically forced to it by my coworker, at first I didn´t thought it was great, but I did got fascinated with Robert. Watching Twilight many times, I realized there are good things if I take it apart of the book (which I read after watching the film).
The other day talking to my cousin, she told she had watch the film several times too, and asked me, why every body likes it? And she made me realize that so far most of the people I know had watched the film and liked it, no one is claiming it is the best movie ever but enjoyed it with out caring to read the books, so I think the movie served it purpose; we know the script could had been better, they could had taken other choice in the direction of certain scenes, a major budget would had held with the CGI, but the film even though is not the best, it is not the worst either and it is very entertaining, the acting is spot on for the movie and the characters (this is no Oscar movie, nor the performance required for the characters) in fact I´m not big fan of the Oscar´s so I like things that are not just for critics. I would certainly like Robert to get an Oscar one day and I assume that if he continues his hard work, one day he will get that award, but I would be happy with Robert taking an Oscar, just as I´m happy with any recognition he gets, like the Strasbourg International Film Festival or First Glance Film Festival.

Monika- I hate to tell you. If that did happen it's nothing new. Kris and Rob talked about spending nights together going over the script way back last year in a MTV video. Back when MTV visited them on set. They said they hung out a lot and watched movies too. I know it is a shock to people to see them out now together, but they have always hung out behind the scenes. I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I can't wait until he moves on from the Twilight series. I'm begining to get irrated... He needs to be around some new fresh people. For myself, if I had to chose whether to believe them when they deny that there is anything going on or the gossip mongers who make their miserable lives by preying on others, it's not hard to decide who I'd stick by.

Jalarag - You're my girl! I agree completely. All we have to go on with these rumours is what K/R and the cast have said in their denials. At this point, I've got no reason not to trust them (they're actors, therefore, paid liars is not a good inductive argument), so I will trust them until something changes.
Gotta go home now so that I can get back on here and stay for awhile!
We all know that Rob would be so awesome in other movies besides the Twilight ones. Now the world needs to know how wonderful this man is, He is the complete package.
Oh, and to all you gals who are getting anxious for Rob to move on from the Twilight machine into new and fresh projects and people...I'm totally with you 1,000,000%!

WinWin - Just got out of a staff meeting (blech!) and am heading home. I am about as burned out of this school year as it is possible to be. Last night, one of my college students came up to me and said, "I'm not going to be here for the final exam on Wednesday." As Rob would say...."WHAAAAAAAT?" He told me he was going fishing. I replied that I hope he catches something in the lake because all he'll be catching for my course is a big, ginormous 'F'. So that's how my day is going. :))))))) Hope to talk to you later!!!
