Last week, we dropped a bombshell of OME proportions when we announced that the CAST OF "NEW MOON" WILL BE PRESENTING EXCLUSIVE FOOTAGE from their upcoming "Twilight" sequel during the MTV MOVIE AWARDS. Now we can reveal that the never-before-seen video that Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will be introducing on Sunday's live show is the movie's first trailer. The stars will present the premiere of the "New Moon" trailer on the Movie Awards, airing at 9:00 pm ET on Sunday. Then at 10:45 p.m., the high-definition video will debut online To make sure you don't miss the big premiere, you can snag our Movie Awards countdown clock right here!

few men inspire you to want to talk to him and just be in his presence when he's that good-looking....
but Rob accomplishes that.

I'm sure this has been said, but don't get your hopes up for outdoor Italy scenes in the trailer. I don't think they can work that fast. Maybe, but I don't think so.
I am hoping for some indoor scenes.
Come to think of it, if they're done right, Rob should be shirtless then, too!
Lizalou, I saw that video on Spunk, along with videos of other cast members leaving the shoot...it's so wild, the Italians were all polite and quiet with everyone (even Kristen,) and then when Rob came out, it was the pandemonium in that video. There is just something about him.
It's the combination of gorgeous looks with a humble, silly, smart and soulful personality. It's just so hard to come by! Rob has no idea how rare it is How rare HE is. And I'm glad he doesn't understand it and can't absorb it. Because if he did, he wouldn't be the Rob we all love so much.
BTW, I've been reading a lot of your conversations on my lunch hour and I love what you all are saying, even if I haven't had time to respond. And I still love your story, Nik. Rob looked so ungodly beautiful at ComicCon...even if I'd had no idea who he was, he would have turned my head that day. I love the early footage of Rob first encountering the fan frenzy...his reactions are priceless. They are part of the reason we all love him so much. There isn't an arrogant, prideful bone in his body.
I've decided there are two additional reasons why the Rob phenomenom is different than most celeb phenoms that have come before. One, Summit made Rob do SO many interviews that there are literally hours of footage of him being his down-to-earth self; and two, those hours of footage have all found their way into our living rooms via Youtube and other video-sharing websites. Those two things work together to create a feeling of (probably) false intimacy...a feeling like we really know a lot about this young man whom we've never met in person. Then, throw in an internet that has globally linked people with similar tastes and interests, who create virtual communities like Robsessed, and our discussion simply feeds the obsession, as Showme mentioned earlier. Next thing you know, you have a worldwide wave of interest and adoration based and focused upon one poor kid who just wanted to do some cool acting jobs and make a living. No wonder Rob is so dazed and confused by it.
I've spent this whole week dazed and confused...I don't even know what I'm saying anymore! LOL

Leann - I agree with you there. The internet has a lot to answer for - almost zero productivity from the global, internet-using, female poulation yesterday. It's a wonder the world didn't come to a standstill as we all drooled, swooned and ogled the day away.
But seriously, the internet really blows things up way out of proportion. Without it we might have barely even heard of him beyond knowing him as the star of Twilight, what to speak of this illusory sense we have of knowing him personally, even though we know that's not really true.

A/LA, I actually did that to a band once...stalked them. In their hotels. For a week. With about 20 other fans. I'm not even kidding. So I hear these stories and I cringe...but I understand. I don't condone it, and they'll feel like idiots later in life, but I must shamefully admit, been there, done that.
Oh, by the way, I did that about 17 years ago. Not that that makes it okay...but...I would never do it to Rob now! LOL
Leann, you are right about what could had created this phenomenon around him, at thee same time I think there are many celebrity that do many many hours of interviews for a film, yet not so many cause the interest this boy cause, he has the It factor, like “fresh air” into the Hollywood industry.
But it is going to be interesting to see how many of the people into this phenomenon are fans of Robert as the artist he is, or because they fans of him because he is playing Edward in the Twilight Saga; I see people at the board and I think this is going to be the fallowing he will really have when he has moved on from the Saga; I´m not so sure about other places, I been in many looking for the right place to stay and share my interest, most are full of teens saying things like “that is something Edward wouldn´t do”.. they can´t separate the actor form the character, and they transfer many things from it to the actor. So I think after the saga is done, then is when we are going to see the “true phenomenon” he Rob can really be.

Leann- I am no stranger to that world of fandom / groupies / band stalking. Trust me, I've seen my share and have been dragged along on stalking missions that I am personally uncomfortable with (I'm always someone's wingman in that situation).
Maybe because it's Rob? My protective nature comes out. Weird- if it was a band, I would have never been surprised. I guess it's funny to me that actors have stalkers. Similar worlds, I guess, but musicians are usually the ones with that kind of wrap.

Yes, Jalarag, the internet DOES blow things way up out of proportion; and a lot of people who aren't on it, or aren't teenagers, really have no idea who Rob is. I was talking to a 50-yr-old co-worker who was joking that her birthday was okay, but that Johnny Depp didn't show up again this year, darn him anyway. We laughed, and I said I'd like to have Hugh Jackman at mine; and she agreed that he's hot. Then I threw Rob's name out there and said that he makes me wish I were 20 years younger because I think he's so awesome, and I had to tell her who he was...she still didn't really know, even after I mentioned Twilight. So it's not like he's achieved A-level status yet, but I know he's on his way.
Mechevpao, that's so true about Rob being a breath of fresh air in Hollywood, a much needed one! And also very true about the character of Edward being a big part of the Robsession for many people. That's how I got into Rob, but it's ROB, not Edward, that keeps me interested. In fact, after watching a lot of Rob interviews, I found myself telling my friend Meli, "Edward is so boring compared to Rob!" And it's true! But a lot of people CAN'T separate the two. And the truth is, Rob really IS Edward to me, more than any other actor could ever be. No one could do Edward justice the way Rob has. It's just that there's so much MORE to Rob than playing Edward.

A/LA, it usually is musicians that encounter the stalkers. Maybe it's because the groupie lifestyle was so condoned in the 60s and 70s...it's an accepted part of being a "rock star." I never wanted to stalk movie stars so maybe that's why this all seems so odd to me.
Well Lord knows I'm all talk and no action, so I'll stay here or move up...whatever works!

In regards to that thing about Rob being a breath of fresh air--
I often think why young actors are so hot is that their youth s a magnet to anyone at any age. Younger kids want people to look up to, people in their 20s are interested in peers who've accomplished a lot, and older folks are drawn to youth in ways that either inspire them or make them reminisce about the magic of youth.
Rob has a kind of vitality that he exudes, and it is really attractive to people of varying ages and groups.

A/LA, that is soooo spot-on. Everyone loves being inspired by someone in his or her prime. My mom, who is 71, loves watching young couples on her favorite soap opera. She says she has no interest in watching the older veterans in love scenes...she wants to see the young, pretty people instead! LOL Everything you said is true. Ah, youth is so often wasted on the young...it's nice to see someone like Rob making the most of his. And doing it in public so voyeurs like us can watch. ;p

showme - I live in Trinidad but am originally from England - just about three towns over from where Rob is from.
Mech...i've thought a lot about Rob in other roles. Since I've watched him in everything he's done so far, except for Little Ashes, i know i can certainly separate him from his characters.
But i'm sure y'all will agree, I'll be looking for his real personality in these roles
speaking of which, y'all know that the new movie, Remember Me, was written "in his voice". The screenwriter actually met him and crafted the speech to fit him. robert said it was uncanny.
i am ridiculously excited about that film. and since it's a tearjerker, right? i can't imagine...i'm gonna be an absolute WRECK coming out of that thing.

I often think of that- very often, and wonder if he keeps it in mind as all of this is happening to him. It makes me smile.
Mechevpao, that is so true...it's so hard to watch a Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt movie and just see The Celebrity instead of the character he is portraying.
With Rob, I do see a difference in characters, but I also see similarities...I see Rob's little indiosyncracies in all of his performances. I think that's okay though...that makes him who he is. But I'm glad he's playing diverse roles in between playing Edward, so that he doesn't get too "stuck" in a particular style of acting, or certain acting habits.
I'm the opposite, I read the books before I saw the film. More to the point, I read half-way into New Moon when I decided that I HAD to watch Twilight, so I found it illegally on Youtube, and instantly loved Rob as Edward. Either way, one of my most favourite poems is Desiderata, by Max Ehrmann; I sent Rob a fan letter (shyly dips head ) but it was more so a recommendation of books to read, and then I attached the poem at the end. I think it's something everyone should live by, and the one thing I'm hoping for is just that Rob read that poem.

Yes, Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt, I no longer see the character they play, I just see the celebrity.
And Rob does bring things of his personality in his character, every actor does when they have to show certain emotion, they compose it as to how much they can relate to it, so certain trace comes out, but in the case of Rob, we know because we watch everything he does analyzing it,and we recognize certain things, for any other viewer that just care to watch the movie and not who is the actor playing it, they wouldn´t know. A/LA about what you said about RM, it is very true.. I´ve havent read the early script, I did get some info about the movie, and I know it is going to be an stronger story line that what they are promotioning it to be.
Mechevpao, our brains think sooo much alike, I'm starting to get scared! Actually it's that way with sooo many of you...obviously the things we are attracted to in Rob means we have a certain amount of personality traits that are similar as well, I guess!
But what you were saying about the way we analyze Rob, we see those bits of him in the characters he portrays...perhaps the average viewer wouldn't pick up on those things.

on a weirdly different note, i was just thinking about rob (wow, big stretch) and i was thinking about his sweet gesture when he wrote out the word "bouffant" on a piece of paper during the dvd commentary so Kristen would know how to pronounce it, and wouldn't be embarassed.

Take it from me - they're not all they're cracked up to be unless you've got stacks of money to get around the third world aspects.

if u pay really close attention to the DVD commentary (like me, who has listened to it like 50 times bc i'm complete freak), Kristen keeps saying "bouffannn" pronouncing it wrong, without any "t" sound at the end, and you hear her say, it's a little muddled "OH, that's how you spell it" and he says "Say it again" and laughs and she says "no way". it's like right when he's talking about his last day of filming, when they're in the car, and Rob talks about how his double just 'did it so much better than anything you've ever done it the movie' acc to the crew...it's right around there.
ROb obviously knew she was pronouncing it incorrectly (which she was) and knew she was being recorded and wanted to let her know she was pronouncing it incorrectly...so sweet
