I wanted to make a "Happy Birthday Rob" post since here it is already May 13th but I am dead tired and this HQ Happy Trail Picture distracted me :) So I'll go and get some sleep. When I wake up, I'll wish Rob a Happy Birthday and it won't be about his "happy trail" (at least not entirely;))

My theory, in a nutshell (*!*): Nothing in Edward's body is "alive" any more. So no babies for him.

Anyway...when there are no males present, the females of certain species are able to reproduce themselves through parthenogenesis—essentially, cloning themselves, and the offspring are always female. So...Edward's 100% venom, er, contribution could have triggered a parthenogenetic response in Bella's body (and this could have also set her on the road to becoming a vampire. Another thing—in the book, when he was kissing her, and licking her lips all the time, wasn't she ingesting SOME venom? Because you KNOW those weren't DRY little pecks. But I digress....).
Bella would have, necessarily, produced a female child (bearing no resemblance to Edward, in that case), which would be an exact replica of herself—but a bit vampiric, too, because of the venom. And Jacob would be in HEAVEN!!!
