Twilight's Pattinson Flogs Indie How to Be
From Variety.com:
While Brit first-timer Oliver Irving's micro-indie How to Be may not be high art, because it stars Twilight star Rob Pattinson, it has a target audience. The flick about a sadsack guitar player who moves back in with his parents after his girlfriend dumps him had been seeking a distrib since its Slamdance debut in January, 2008. I asked Pattinson about How to Be in a Twilight interview back in November (Flip Cam video below), which was seen by IFC Films buyer Arianna Boccho, who tracked down How to Be and bought it one week later for IFC Festival Direct.
Post-Twilight, IFC took the film to fests and one-off screenings in Chicago, Boston, and LA, which were jammed by Pattinson fans, who also lined up around the block in NYC last weekend for two sold-out screenings at the IFC Center.
Pattinson has happily flogged the movie, taking time out of his New Moon shooting schedule to do reads for the various cable systems promoting the film. And he's giving away the clothes that he wore during the How to Be shoot for a contest on Seventeen.com. IFC publicized Pattinson to drive viewers to view the movie on-demand (starting April 29) via Entertainment Tonight, AOL, Life & Style and MTV.com, which has long catered to the Pattinson fan base.
While there are no reviews on Rotten Tomatoes or Metacritic, the IMDb user ratings are strong, and the movie boasts over 14,000 Facebook fans. And the filmmakers have been sending out daily newsletters to keep their fans up-to-date on the latest How to Be developments.
Thanks to Gorbo for the link :)

Ok, i have a different definition of what flogging means, obviously. lol
Gawd, he is hot.
hi ;))
nice interview, this guy has something to say on his own, whatta difference from Hollywood "stars", gonna have mercy and won't mention ... well, anybody...
plus tomorrow - day off - alltogether nicely starting evening (7:38 pm here)
Good evening girls
intelligence is hot, and intelligence enveloped in ... Rob ... perfection
Thanks Gozde for reposting, one of the best interviews by far.
Have been bothered by all the negativity out there on the Net these past few days. The intrusive and negative vibes inevitably take a toll. This is a great opp for us to stop just enjoying and "taking" from this enticing man and instead give a little something back by voicing not just appreciation but thanks.
So thank you Mr. P for being a breath of fresh air by remaining your quirky and thoughtful self and sharing it with your audience (despite the downside of all the crap notoriety seems to be bringing lately.)
OK, sorry for the soapbox moment ladies. Just thought a day of entirely positive vibes was much needed!
I was thinking what Christy was... I obviously thought something different when I read "flogging". But I love that interview, he's so calm and relaxed... it's like he's talking right to you... sigh...
Auctioning off his clothes???
Oh, please, don't let them be washed . . .
Dear Gozde,I'm so happy I was able to order "HOW TO BE" at Comcast on Demand at IFC Films! It was so good, Rob is so wonderful in it! It was a nice little film better than some that get to the big screen! I was never a "TWILIGHT" fan per say, of the film yes but I have never read the books! I became a Robert Pattinson fan after seeing the movie! If it were not for ROB, I would never know about these independent films that are really very good. I like the way he was all into character and I could identify with the character "Art" and feel every slight he felt! Great acting! I am also going to see "LITTLE ASHES" with my daughter in Ft Lauderdale(I'm a young 53 and she's an old 28) and I can't wait! GOROB!
I don't know, this site has made me feel so comfortable. I come here multiple times throughout the day and read so much of Rob that I am starting to feel a sort of "ownership" of him if ya know what I mean. I feel proud that he is remaining such a decent, intelligent and caring person through all of this craziness that is his life.
Dang, almost paternal ... dang, now I feel old :(
That was the most interesting interview I have ever seen him in!!!!
Just so laid back, and talking...I wish more interviews were like that!
Oh how I love his beautiful, intelligent, integrity.
muuuwwwwaaahhh to Rob.
Ooh, thanks for putting this interview here in its entirety! One of my favorite Rob interviews ever. He's so soft-spoken and intelligent (as always,) and big bonus, he's looking directly into the camera. There's just something about hot-mess-bedhead-Rob staring into my eyes that's quite...mesmerizing. If anyone could succeed in hypnotizing me, it'd be him and those big baby blues.
This has always been one of my favorite interviews! The camera must have been right next to the interviewer's face b/c it looks like he is looking straight at us. She asks really great questions and follow ups - really more of an in-depth conversation than any I have ever seen. It seems really late at night, like he has done umpteen fluffy interviews before this one and the combination of sleep deprivation and a little mental stimulation from this interviewer really brought him out. Kudos to her! The benefit is all ours!
I'm a long-time lurker here. Gozde, you are the best!
I could listen to this man talk all day long. I love his mind. Among other other things... *ahem*
I just have to say this is my favourite Rob interview ever. He seemes so relaxed and the way he stares right in that camera - just does things to me...
Wow... why can't all males be this thoughtful and intelligent.
I want a male like this or none at all. It does not have to be this guy but he has to be this well spoken, and he has to play with his hair when he is nervous just like Mr. P. does.
