Meg we are all in the same boat. It's kinda sick tho. My DH says I ignore him when I'm wrapped up in all things Twilight and FF. And in all our 8+ years we never had a communication problem. Ok, this Nikki and Rob thing is making me wanna barf on Monday morning. We all know how Monday's are! I think they are just friends. Nikki is from Southern Cali and is familiar with the area...and Rob is not...so I think she just offers to help him a lot. And Rob is just so gracious he can't say no. I feel like Nikki wants to take him under her wings a little...not sure what the motive is. I have a few ideas...maybe trying to boost her own career, feels bad for him and wants to protect him, show him off, or just wants to show him LA and have a good time. Not really sure. As far as them always hanging out...I think that all the other girls have boyfriends and a life...and she is not linked to anyone and has a lot of free time to hang out. He strikes me as really shy and I can only imagine that he would feel shy, awkward, and timid around women. Anyone else agree? He just strikes me as a guys guy...always with his buddies and doing the songwriting thing. She is just trying to blend in. Using her music to connect with them all.

Anon @ 12:44...thank you for your comment. I too think that Nikki and Rob are just friends (Good Lord...I said I was staying away from this today) and she's helping him out. My best friend for 24 years has been a smokin' hot guy that every woman I've ever known wanted to be with (and generally was with). We spent a lot of time together, drove each other's cars, stayed over at each other's houses, slept in the same bed, traveled together, were generally connected at the hip. We never dated. Was there attraction? Heck yeah. Did we talk about it? Heck yeah. But we knew we'd make better friends.
I have no freakin' idea what's going on with Nikki and Rob. But I don't see him as a guy who is trying to get his groove on any chance he gets. Two things about Nikki irritate me:
1. She looks like she is 30. Too old to dress like she does. When I found out she is still early 20's, it was too late. She looks desperate and like she is trying too hard to be something she is not.
2. She appears to be the kind of person who takes on the personality, opinions, and style of those around her. Guys love girls like this, they feel flattered and adored.

Little Mama/Crazy: Well I am a good deal older, and somehow something about RP has sent me into a tailspin too.
Happen to be single now, after rolling/stumbling through my share of serious relationships that always end up going south. At this point in life, when I see a young man like RP, I realize that guys like him didn't register on my radar I was younger. But my own dd (Twilight fanbase age) finds him repulsive. WHy? In her eyes: too dorky, looks "gay, fugly... She just doesn't get it yet.
It's taken time and lumps to appreciate the qualities that make a man truly sexy. That seems ridiculous now, cause he's so obviously delectable. So... how many times did we cross paths with men with similar qualities, and didn't recognize them?! I think that's why RP has struck such a chord with so many "finely aged" women! We don't care about Edward.... too obvious. But now we see the RP behind him and go thud!

Well, it took awhile to read all of these posts. Nikki sure strikes a strong chord with so many here.
A few things: why is it that when women are jealous, they start cutting up other women's clothing, appearance, etc? I'm with Gozde, Nikki looks fine. I'm sure many here would love to have her figure. I think her colorful shoes are playful. Why does it matter what she wears?
Rob and Nikki are friends and I don't think there is more to it than that. If there was something when they first met, it appears that they have worked it out. Being an LA native, I'm sure Nikki has helped out Rob a lot in this strange, foreign environment called Los Angeles! Don't forget, he's a guy and he needs help! LOL. It does appear that she is checking on his LA apt. and the BMW. There's nothing sinister about that. I'm glad it appears that he did keep the BMW and will have it rehabbed (discussed ad nauseum in another thread) since he loves it so much.
And I'm totally with KK--where do people get that if you are handsome and 22, you must be sex-obsessed and need it ALL THE TIME?!?! Totally unrelated.

Chicago girl - I agree about women cutting down women. I've dated guys a bit younger and a lot younger than I am. None of the guys I know think it's any big deal. The women I know (even friends) are the ones that rag on me about it. Guys look at Demi Moore and think "Ashton is one lucky dude." Women look at Ashton and think "Why is he with someone so much older than him? She's a cradle robber." And then they comment about her looks, her attitude, her wrinkles and whether or not she's had botox to keep Ashton around, etc.
I like Rob. He seems fairly genuine and no-nonsense. He seems to care about people and choose friends carefully. Do I know any of this for sure? Hell no; I'm not in his freakin' head. But if I do like and believe what I've seen, I have to believe that Nikki is someone worth hanging around because he has chosen to hang around her. We can't call him mature for his age (which many have said on this blog) and then think he's too stupid and immature to figure out that someone he's friends with is an idiot. I don't buy it.

The BMW death-trap was having problems, including its which-side-of-the-road-am-I-supposed-to-be-on driver. Rob switches to silver Audi coupe, which was what EC wanted to get Bella in place of her death-trap truck.
Rob goes on Ellen D, talks about joke car (BMW), not really knowing how to drive (no new driver should start out in LA) and how he can't find the "wipey" thing. For that portion of the story, see GQ: his problems with the defroster on the Audi. Even when he sounds like he's making stuff up, he can't stay away from the truth.
No time to read all the comments, but don't think anyone's cited the photo that comes to my mind when wondering what Rob & Nikki have or haven't been up to. The one with Lizzie? Where Nikki appears to be recovering from either the Big Bang or a head-on with a truck?

well, this whole nikki and rob discussion is pretty much feeding into those who thinks Nikki is a fame-whore, those who want Robsten, and those who seems to really care about nikki's bad influence on Rob. From analyzing (yes, I do have my obsessive moments) group and personal interviews of Nikki, her pictures, movies, etc - she seems like what young folks in hollywood are up to - nothing less, nothing better. maybe she is all up in the fame thing since she name-drop A LOT and basically got the Twilight gig because she knows Catherine. I personally feel that Rosamund Pike (Brit - in Pride and Prejudice) is beautiful and make a perfect Rosalie.
Rob & Nikki? - prob had some sexual stuff and given what we have seen/been told of Rob's personality, perhaps Nikki came on to him when he was clueless. perhaps they were and are fuck-buddies and now they are just friends. perhaps they are going out and need to keep it from the press. perhaps he is using her to get back at kristen. perhaps she is using him to get to kristen (ever find the whole nikki-oregano-kstew hanging out all the time together weird?). perhaps nikki is just that - a fame whore. or rob is a man-whore. or simply folks who wanna have a good time. either way, i hope he finds someone classier, intelligent and emotionally worthy.
