I never wanted to live in the US before that "L.A.Movement"... No sign of it in Brasil so soon... I am jealous of you, guys.
Of course, I want to see Rob naked and all, but, after reading some of Lorca's works (mostly his sonnets) and two books about Dali, I also want to see how they did portray such complicated characters in this movie. Dali had the most surreal (and a bit, or a lot, egocentric) personality and died denying his sexual involvement with Lorca (who he described as a "pederast", that "came on to him" twice, but that he (Dali), although "disturbed", "resisted"). Lorca's works are incredibly beautiful, politicized and sensitive. And he loved Dali until his death by execution in 1936.
Oh, yeah, Rob, lover, I want to see all that naked stuff you had to go through... in details! But, come on, man, why did you have to "tuck" the thing in?
To All the Austin folks. I just spoke with Regal Arbor and they said that they had seen an e-mail come through from corporate regarding this but it's yet to be booked. She says she thinks it will be because of two things a) it's an art movie and lots of people have called and b) they remember the turn out to see Rob at that same theatre back in October at the AFF.
I'm calling back next week to see if there is any news.
Anon., thank you! I will see if I can get a number. But, you know? Things are a bit slow down here in Brasil; they are planning Little Ashes for OCTOBER...
Sometimes I feel I am in a "cultural exile"... We have to dig out things... And it is not Cuba.
FYI Australian fans - I spoke with Como Cinemas (aka, The Palace Cinemas) and whilst they have confirmed there is no release date yet for Australia, they will be keeping an eye on the film for a release date as it is something they would be very interested in screening. Score!
Ugh!!! Living in Alberta, as I have said before, SUX!!!!!! I called one theatre and the guy didn't even know what I was talking about. So, then I called the Globe theatre in Calgary, and that guy hadn't heard of it either. Pardon me?????? His advice was to look at the distributor and they will have a list of where it will be playing. UGH!!!!! I am going to email and see if I get a different result. HELL..... the Globe in Winnipeg is playing it.
In Melbourne Australia - our best bet is the Nova. They are trying to get Ashes and have a once off screening of How to Be coming soon - yeeha. Join their enews at http://www.cinemanova.com.au/
If your ringing them talk to the publicist she's lovely and she knew exactly why I was ringing and she knew all of Rob's films.
And damn it it's on the other side of the city from me

That one line - "You'll come back, you won't be able to think about anything else."

Yea! Great news! I'm in Atlanta, but I've been calling out-of-state to try to help out. So glad it's coming your way, too :)
Wish we had a place to phone in Brasil. I'd actually call if I had a number. Sophia? Why don't you post one with Gozde?
