Robert Pattinson is back in the U.S.!
I just got word that our favorite British import was in Los Angeles last night, fresh from a quick trip to Tokyo to promote Twilight with his costars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.
So what was Pattinson up to?
He was spotted at about 11:30 p.m. finishing dinner with three others at an outside table at La Poubelle, a French bistro in Hollywood.
And we're happy to report that it looks like he picked up the tab, because he was seen signing the credit card receipt, according to a fellow diner.
Now the big question is, will Pattinson pop up at this month's Twilight at Midnight parties? It was announced today that retailers across the country will be open March 20 from 10 p.m. to midnight to launch the release of the hit movie's DVD.
Rumor has it that stars from the flick will actually make surprise appearances at some of the vampire-themed soirees.

Sneaky! I'm so glad he's evaded the paps at the airport again. Good for him.
I'd be really surprised if we see Rob showing up at a random store when the DVD comes out. I think he's done more than enough to promote the movie and it'll do just fine without him.
Just my opinion, but I think if any "stars" from the movie pop up anywhere it will probably be people like Michael Welch or Justin Chon. I REALLY doubt Rob, Taylor, or Kristen would subject themselves to another screaming session. But, who knows?

As for Rob being back.... I imagine we won't be seeing much of him. His Character is pretty intensely tortured in the next book & based on his previous prep for roles, I sort of envision him keeping a pretty low profile during his off time.. Just my opinion..
I'm with you on that one, Tess. I think Rob will be a self-imposed hermit, if he continues with how he prepares for his roles. And especially so, since in NM, Edward is a much darker character.
Oh, and so loving that bottom pic, with his seductive eyes on me...
So sad that there were no return shots. Tess, I agree about the low profile which is really Rob's style. Emily, you're right, it will be supporting players when the DVD goes on sale. Promoters are just trying to increase first day sales. Since I do live 30 minutes from Beverly Hills/Hollywood, I'm betting some of you would like to borrow my couch?!? ~Chicago girl now in LA.
it's intriguing to me...he's always looking directly into a camera when he does that sultry look. what do you guys think he is thinking? "I'm told my fans just love it when i do this?"? Does he maybe have a clue as to his power over women, especially with those looks? Seriously.
