Spanish actor Javier Beltran is giving the "next big thing" treatment by Out (April 2009), including an all-out sexy Hollywood shoot by Xevi Muntane. He stars as Federico Garcia Lorca opposite Robert Pattinson as Salvador Dali in the indie flick Little Ashes.
Little Ashes focuses on the rumored affair between Lorca and Dali, but this was no issue for Beltran: "We didn't have any problems with the sexuality. On the set it was less important than the emotions. The sex scenes are beautiful—tragic and painful."

Srsly, I cannot wait to see this movie. Rob is amazing and I will watch any movie with him in it...at least once...perhaps 10 times, but honestly, who's counting? Just sayin'.

@letterstorob: I had the same thoughts before I watched Brokeback Mountain. But in the end it didn´t really matter because you were so caught up in that ragic lovestory. They could have been elephants with pink patterns and I wouldn´t have realized it :-)

From the Rob interview you get the idea he wasn't even sure this film would be released. I hope it is not edited in a cheesy manner and I hope it supports Rob's career rather than hurts it. *Fingers crossed, Rob*

well i guess rob had more of a problem with the scene than javier but like he said it the first SEX scene with either sex. i cant wait to see it. i like others loved broke back mountain, i cried too. it was a love story not a gay story. lets see how this one turns out. maybe this will shy rob's teenage fans away for a little while.

Dali's life is tragic in so many ways, not the least that he couldn't stand being touched. I think the underlying pathos will be deeply moving. As an artist, I can't wait to see this movie. As a woman, I'm sure I will totally lose my mind with these two in the leading roles. Geez ... I may never leave the theater ;)
Not only am I excited to see a biopic about Dali, my all time favorite surrealist, but Robbie is playing him!!!! That makes it a trillion times better!!!! May 8th cannot come soon enough. However it will be a little awkward seeing Rob sexing up another dude, especially doggie-style! LMAO. But hey, in Eclipse and Breaking Dawn we'll see him have INTENSE sex/love scenes with Kristen. I hope they make BD rated R, maybe even XXX. lol Hey a girl can dream.

I'm an art history nut and DH and I've been going over books on Dali in prep for the "Little Ashes" release. I've always loved the melting time works. He really is a sad figure. I hope the film hits the right note.
Javier sounds like such an interesting and intelligent person.
I love the way he talked about the scenes and I'm impressed by his portrayel of which I've seen so far.
I'm looking forward to seeing more of him in the future, I'm sure he'll be around.

I think it took some guts for Rob to take this role. Having said that, I believe he can do anything he sets his mind to, and do it beautifully. :)
While I agree with letterstorob (first coment - too funny LOL)...I get the feeling from the trailer and from blogs from people that went to see the movie in October in London (festival), that the romantic scenes are really lovely and poignant (tragic in some cases) between them.......like Brokeback Mountain, if the acting is good enough, we will be lost in the relationship and not care what sex they are.....fingers crossed they pull it off!!!!
