Adaline is a singer out of Vancouver who met Rob last night at a Juno after party. In her latest blog entry she talks about how she discovered Twilight, Edward and ultimately Rob . She also shares how she bumped into him last night. Check out her myspace page! I really liked her music! I actually loved her music!
Last night I was at a Juno Afterparty at Richards on Richards (a fantastic live music venue in Vancouver). I'm hanging out upstairs and I look over...it's Robert Pattinson. I couldn't believe it! I spent the next few minutes trying to figure out how to say hi and what I could say that wouldn't sound crazy.
I walked over and he was saying to another girl, "I can't do that. I can't do that", so I pulled up beside him and said, "What can't you do Robert" and he said, "I can't take pictures tonight". So I leaned over and said, "I don't need a picture of you. You're just a normal person trying to have a good time. I'm just happy to have this moment with you. Sometimes people want a piece of you, more specifically, a piece of Edward. I'm happy to be meeting you. At the end of the day, you're just like me."
At that point, he pulled me into an warm embrace and said in my ear, "You are the first person to say that to me all day, thank you. Honestly, thank you". I said, "You're welcome. We're the same".
I told him about how I was a performer, so you never know, maybe he'll be at a show someday!
In the end it was lovely to meet the man who so well depicted the character so many people love. I can tell you two things:
1) Even though Robert is not Edward, he has the same intense stare in real life. It took me off guard
2) He smells lovely. The stinky thing is a bunch of tabloid garbage.
Somehow, my meeting with him got posted on Robert Pattinson websites because I have had over a thousand plays of my music today and it's only noon!
I have received countless messages and twitter adds. Thank you!
If my meeting with Robert introduces you to my music, then this is even more cosmic than I ever thought possible!
At the end of the day, this story is about my music and about how it seems that all of this was meant to happen. How I was meant to pick up that book, how I was meant to have all that press published, how I was meant to be at that club last night, and how I was meant to meet you.
I hope you enjoy my music and that it communicates with you. This is my passion and is what I breathe each day for. The thought that over 1400 people have heard my music today makes my heart beat fast...almost as fast as my heart beated while flipping those pages.

Note: All right, I admit, it does sound a bit like a fantasy :) Like how you think you would act if you bumped into Robert and maybe she IS doing it to promote her music but it worked on me. I did like her music :)

sounds like a load of crap to me. when did rob suddenly refuse to take pictures with fans and start embracing girls he doesn't know? that must be a new development or a lie... I'll believe it when I see a picture of him at this event. Im pretty sure someone would have got a picture of him there and Im equally as sure that this chick is trying to use his fame to get hits on her site... come on, with our help she can be on the next twilight soundtrack? uhhh get a grip girl looks like she is trying to cash in on the success of something sh has nothing to do with...

Ok if she hadn't done this I'd say that she sounds like a good person but she is totally using Rob. Get a life and make people like your music in you OWN freakin ways!
At first I thouhgt it is strange, just because of the style of writing. But I think I was thinking too much like me. I mean I would never post something like that, because I am very closed person. But she maybe isn't...there are very open, interactive people....and she may be one.
So I don't care really...I loved it because it is positive..and that "he smells lovely" comment made me laugh so much... I can just imagine how every fan he meets sniffs him a bit haha....

I call bullshit on the whole thing. Sound like a made up fan fiction to me. ---------AGREE WITH YOU COMPLETELY. And she sounds like she's using Rob's name to get her music out there. Poor Rob.
i think its hard for us to guess what rob would say or do at this point in time.given the right circumstances,right conditions, he could have done exactly as she said.we will never know.i just file away in the realm of possiblities.
I'm probably among the few who might feel this way, and believe me.. I would love to meet him. But something about this story was a little upsetting to me.
Although, for her, I believe this was a wonderfful experience, who wouldn't want that opportunity to just have a moment with him, I think she did worse then the fan asking for the picture because she just sold him. You have this encounter, tell him that he is "just like (you)" and then you post it on facebook? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of all that talk... I don't know. I would think that after what he said to her, thanking her and everything, that he would be a bit let down because she posted the entire encounter... I doubt he would do the same to her if the tables were turned. I mean do you see him posting all of his celebrity meetings on facebook? I just hate the feeling I get reading this, I feel that she sold him out. Her words may have put him in a safe place in that time... and for a moment he felt appreciative, and then WHAM! She knocks him in front of the FACEBOOK BUS.
Sorry for the rant. I love seeing his oictures and hearing about him.. but something about this story just rubbed me the wrong way.
I agree w/ Kelly and that's exactly what I was going to post. Whether or not the encounter happened as she says, I think it's lame she blogged about it, especially in such detail. I've read that Rob peruses fan sites sometimes, and Adaline's story is all over numerous fansites right now. So there's a fair chance he may have even seen a writeup about it. How can he trust anyone?? I wouldn't sell you out, Rob. *sigh*

I don't believe this story - it just sounds like something she made up to get people to listen to her music. If she had just written about the encounter and left out the majority of her "I'm a singer and I play at this place and I have this cd out,etc. then I might believe it. Plus, Rob is really shy and I don't think he'd grab a perfect stranger and tell her about his feelings so quickly. Sorry, I just don't believe her.
I was at this party aswell, and I can attest that both Adaline (aka Shawna) and Rob were both at the Gibson Juno Awards Party on Saturday night, and I do know he told nearly everyone at the party that he wouldn't take pictures with them. The conversation, I obviously wasn't apart of so I have no idea if that's how it played out, however she did tell me that story moments after it happened.
But I do know Shawna to be one of the most genuine people in the world, so don't doubt this for a second. Regardless of how 20,000 people found her Myspace page today, she's an incredible talent, and deserves every listener this whole silly situation has brought her.
If anything go check her music out, regardless of who she randomly met.
All of you guys hating on Adaline should probably stop because I've been to several of her shows and had the opportunity to meet her, and she is the sweetest, most genuine girl I have ever met. She would never make something like this up, and if this hadn't happened to her she still would have got her music out there because she is so talented! Before you make judgments go to one of her shows and you will realize she is a humble and honest person.
Richards on Richards is a horrible venue - it is the most violent with the most gang-related activity of ANY club in Vancouver!!!
I work in promotions and stopped working with this club after the LAST time it was shut down for stabbings and shootings!!!
I am horrified to see that they are hosting celebrity gigs there... at least they are private parties without the usual rowdy, criminals that typically go there....
Don't hate appreciate, because there is SO MUCH in Adaline's music to appreciate!
I really hope Rob replies like in the news or tabloids about this.. and telling everyone its true and bits everyone in the ass who doubted Adaline!!!
Her music and shows are amazing. And she is so kind! Check her out though.. seriously! Music is music.. and if its good.. giver a listen! And she is good so good! I have her cd!!
