Details of the Karaoke in Japan
I take back the comments I made about what Kristen's dad said at the Oscar's. It looks like daddy was sour grapes that his daughter wasn't invited. I am back in love (girl crush) with Kristen :)
Here is what she said about Breaking Dawn/Rob/Karaoke/Oscars to E! Online's Mark Malkin:
Good news fanggirls: Kristen Stewart says there will be a fourth Twilight movie. She can't imagine why there wouldn't be a big-screen adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s Breaking Dawn, the last novel in her young vampire series.
As we all know by now, Twilight was one of last year’s biggest hits, New Moon starts shooting any minute now, and the studio most recently announced they've officially started work on developing Eclipse.
"We all really hope there is going to be a number four," Stewart, 18, told me yesterday afternoon when we sat down to chat in a suite at L.A.'s Sofitel hotel. "I'm pretty confident that the fans aren’t going to all of a sudden lose interest. The only case that a fourth one wouldn’t be made is if all of a sudden people stopped caring, and I really don't think that's going to happen."
And that's not about to happen for Stewart, either. In fact, she'd like to set the record straight about critics who have come to attack her as some sort of Hollywood ingrate who doesn't think very highly of Twilight or its more dedicated—some would say obsessed—fan base.
"I love the fans," she insists. "I feel like I am one of the fans and any direct interaction I've ever had with them has been the most warm and pleasant and enthusiastic. If anything, it's the biggest driving force that could propel you to do something."
That doesn’t mean all the new attention—OK, hysteria—can't be overwhelming at times. But when she was recently quoted in a magazine as describing some of these experiences as "psychotic," some felt she was taking a dig at the fans. "It's not normal for me to be in a situation that Twilight puts you in," she explains. "It's not personally normal for me to see 5,000 screaming girls. But I'm not criticizing them for being 'crazy' about me. I’m sort of going, "Wow, this is just crazy!' "
Crazy too are the yet to be proven rumors that she and Robert Pattinson are more than just friends. "Rob and I are great friends," Stewart says. "But I understand why you would assume that when we lean on each other for support, there must be something more…And I'm not criticizing anyone for thinking it either. If anything, they're really perceptive, because they can see a closeness." (Her longtime boyfriend, actor Michael Angarano, isn't fazed by the talk either. "We laugh about it," Stewart says.)
When Stewart wasn’t at the Oscars last month, critics pounced again. Did she dislike Twilight so much that she wasn't willing to support it like Pattinson, who was a first-time presenter? Was she scared the supposed secret romance between her and her costar would be too hard to hide if they appeared together on the same stage on Hollywood's biggest night?
Um, no! She had a very good reason for not being there—she wasn't asked. "If I was invited to the Oscars, I would be there in a nanosecond," she says. "If I got an invitation to the Oscars, I wouldn’t turn it down!"
Perhaps next year she and Pattinson could sing together at the Oscars? Late last month, the two engaged in some late-night karaoke while promoting Twilight in Tokyo. Stewart and Pattinson covered Elton John's "Your Song." "Rob could definitely do a musical," Stewart says.
Also belting out tunes were Hugh Jackman and director Baz Luhrmann, who were in Tokyo for the local premiere of Australia. When Stewart first arrived at the bar, Pattinson and Jackman were already engaged in a "really, really elaborate ABBA moment.”(Gozde: Dude! I would pay BIG money to see that, LMAO! Two of the sexiest men alive singing ABBA...Priceless) Later on, Luhrmann joined Pattinson at the mic. "It was really funny seeing Baz Luhrmann and Rob singing a David Bowie song," Stewart says. "It was a talky one so they both could sort of talk to each other, and they were riffing back and forth."
She adds with a laugh, "They were looking longingly into each other’s eyes."(Gozde: I am seriously crushing on Kristen here. She grew a sense of humor!:)
As for Stewart, she starts rehearsals for New Moon next week, followed by about four months of filming in Vancouver and Italy with new director Chris Weitz. Then she's off to play Joan Jett in a biopic about her 1970s all-girl band, The Runaways. Stewart plans to do her own singing. "I don't see any reason not to," she says. "If it’s not going to be Joan, it's going to be me."
Her research included spending New Year’s Eve with Jett. "We were in a little city in Washington and she played through midnight," Stewart says. "And then we spent, like, hours into the morning talking."
On her plate right now are two upcoming indies. In the quirky and very sweet Adventureland, from Superbad director Greg Mottola, she's an angst-ridden coed spending her summer working at her hometown amusement park, where she finds herself torn between a married man (Ryan Reynolds) and a lovable nerd (Jesse Eisenberg). In first-time director Mary Stuart Masterson's The Cake Eaters, she's a high school student with a fatal neurological disorder trying to find love before it's too late.
"I get to do something that literally if I didn't get to do I would implode," Stewart says of acting. "There's really no better position for me to be in right now in my life, and I am entirely grateful."

Ok, she won me over with this interview. <3
I share your opinion Goz, I really like her (again) now. I was a bit mad at her about what her father said at the Oscars, but it seems that it was only HIS opinion, and that Kristen would have come if she was invited :)
She seems to be a really nice girl with a great sens of humor ;)
And I'd loooove so much to see Rob and Hugh Jackman sing ABBA Maybe one day, who knows ?? :D
Is it just me or did Marc overemphasize the fact that Baz and Rob were looking longingly into each others eyes. I know it was her quote but to single that thought out?
Anyhoo...I wish I could've been a fly on the wall hearing all of them, including KStew sing karaoke. I mean, I went on playlist to listen to Your Song by Elton John while I read the rest of the article. hehehe
ok...back to drooling over that fine fine man that's Rob Pattinson. Can't that dvd come in any sooner?
In the day and age where everyone has a cell phone, why oh why do we have no pictures, recordings or video of the Pattinson/Jackman ABBA performance???
I can't help but wonder if this is a mea culpa interview!
She really needed to spin back all of the bad comments and this is it! Her career was being hurt so she needed to issue a correction. Inconsistant behavior. Can't trust this, sorry. ~Chicago girl now in LA.
"Anon"
I totally agree with you. I can't trust this either. People don't change like that overnight.
xoxo
Or maybe the things she said were really emphasized and wrong interpreted by journalists... That happens all the time...
I actually always liked her. She has said she was a fan herself in previous interviews. And she can't really fake sincerity, she is awkward and quite real. So I do believe this interview :)
Dani babe, can I ask a favor? People confuse you with our other blogger/mod Dani. Do you think you can add a letter or something to your username? :)) Thanks so much!
I've always liked Kris. She's great! I love her even more now. I just think everything was taken out of context and misinterpreted by the media.
She really has to give it her all for the next 3 movies, because the love gets REALLY intense, between her and Edward. Even Jake.
I would give my left ovary to have been at that bar that night. Hopefully someone captured it. ***fingers crossed***
Of course I can baby. I didn't knew about other Dani.
Thanks so much babe :)) Dani is my partner at Robsessed. She is just very busy these days and I'm unemployed so I post most of the things :))
I tought that Robsessed was just you.
Chears baby
My opinion of her hasn't changed because I never got caught up in that negative hoopla about her anyway. If I were famous (fat chance), I would exactly like her, saying what I think, instead of what your PR rep tells you to do, and it would get me into alot of trouble, because the media loves to twist and turn things to sell papers/get internet "hits" etc. She remains true to herself and to be like that at her age, as opposed to learning it MUCH later on (like 30s most of the time) is a testament to her and probably her upbringing. So, good for you, Kristen, you may not be my ideal Bella, but you are a talented actress to be sure......
I think kstew just has a hard time articulating what she's trying to say and comes across bitchy. She's obviously overwhelmed and not very good at bullshit (like a lot of actors are). Every now and then she says some really nice things, like when she told the fans in Japan "this is overwhelmingly satisfying."
"Anon"
I'm a PR college student. PR reps don't tell what to do or say. They advice you to be carefull, because the media can be a hard cold beach, and destroy carrers.
It seems like Rob was really happy in Japan. Maybe Hugh gave Rob some tips on how to enjoy himself and handle fame?
There must have been some pretty good security in that bar in order for no one to have captured any pics or videos!
I'm sure they were in a private room :) Hence the no video :)
The timing of the interview is a little fishy. It sounds like damage control for all of the bad press she's been getting. I think she is hyped up as a great actress and I really haven't seen an example of the alleged exceptional acting yet. The only reason I liked her in Twilight is because she does have great chemistry with Rob. Otherwise, the performance was horrible.
I guess time will tell if she's telling the truth. I think more "misintereperted" interviews are to come.
The timing of the interview is because she is promoting Cake Eaters right now and they asked her about Twilight.
As for her great acting: Watch Speak and The Safety of Objects and let's talk again. She hardly says a word in speak and she is AMAZING.
I would LOVE to see Rob and Hugh signing some ABBA together.
Alas, sour grapes. That's what I said straight away.
I love the picture of Rob cracking up. I also miss his long hair! I guess we won't be seeing it long for a while since he won't have as much time in between movies. I also wonder if they'll make him do as much press this time (i.e. mall tour and all those radio and on-line interviews) or if they'll focus more on Taylor and just have Rob do more network stuff like Leno/Conan and Ellen. I'd be worried it I was Taylor, he doesn't have on iota of the charm that Rob has - way too cocky/arrogant in my opinion (although my daughter begs to differ). It will be interesting to see if he can whip up the necessary chemistry with Kristen.
Anon!
I'm speechless. I agree with every single word you said!!!!!Tottaly damage control!!!
I'm glad she got a chance to speak. I think people are just to quick to believe negative things. She isn't the most articulate, and she has stated several times that she gets nervous and comes across curt and uncomfortable, she said this out loud in one of the Japan interviews. This I understand because I'm that type of person. So good for Kristen. I support her 100%. She's lucky to be able to be Rob's friend and to get to see so many different sides to him. I'm jelous.
so what do you say? Should we take up a collection to give her publicist a raise? cuz damn that girl knows how to turn kstew around!
I would pay good $$ to see/hear Rob and Kris singing "your song" to each other. That song is really touching, sweet and loving. Hmmm interesting song choice.
I LOVE your song but it can be so cheesy if you sing it to each other at a karaoke bar and I'm sure they were going for the cheesy fun part :))
By the way, before the premiere of Twilight she already said in an "Access Hollywood"-interview that she was signed for all four parts. (I still hope that Rob'll decline "Breaking Dawn".)
phosphorus - why do you want Rob to decline Breaking Dawn?
If she LOOKED like she was appreciative this would be easier for me to believe. I don't hold being awkward in interviews against her. There's a big difference between being awkward and being surly. For me it does appear to be damage control.
Frenemies: (and please don't read if you are underage and creep the hell out of me!):
It is very pornfic though :) I love Dorkward and BitchBella(I know very smart name)
Not for the faint of heart :P
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4794348/1/
Because the story is crap.
Remember the scene where Edward suggests Jacob should father a child etc. I guess that was meant as being very romantic, showing how deep his love is for her but it's not (she doesn't know anything about this idea).
Moreover, it could do damage to his career, if he did all four of them.
I know, many of you want to see him in "Breaking Dawn", and I suppose, Twi-hards would be very upset, if he turned it down. But his fans would love to see him playing some other character for a change, so if there where other films with him, his fans would forgive him very soon, I think.
Oh, sorry, this wasn't a reply to Gozde's comment, I was just answering Bootstrap Intern's question.
I feel as if alot of people judge actors and actresses on what they say, but like everyone else, they're human, and what they say isn't meant to be what someone else took it as, and that's when everything gets blown out of proportion. However, I find it quite odd that she wasn't invited to the Oscars, but Pattinson was. As I typed that, I had a thought that because she's a bit socially inept in interviews and appearances, that might be why she wasn't invited. Please don't get me wrong, I adore Kristen and love her movies. I'm just thowing in my humble opinion.
I always always assumed her comments were taken out of context. It just didn't make any sense to be purposefully vile towards the fans. I love her. Oh and admittedly I do go week in the knees a bit at the thought of she and rob singing "Our Song".
She is a great actress! Although I don't like her but I'm just very very jealous!
Phosphorus~
I think there is a lot of merit about what you said about Rob and "Breaking Dawn." I'm not really bothered by the storyline, except there is some awkwardness in parts (remember when they were in the tent and the Jacob kiss?!). Frankly, I'm not sure Kristen and Taylor are up to the task! Rob could get a very big paycheck for #4 since that wasn't part of the original deal.
I think he'll be the "Twilight Guy" for the next five years, at least, though. Remember that he still has "Little Ashes" coming out, plus he said there is a break between "New Dawn" and "Eclipse" and I believe he has the lead in "Ohio."
"Ohio" is about when the National Guard killed four protesting students at Kent State University. He is listed as the lead on an industry website. I pray they'll set that for his break time.
Leo Di Caprio moved on from "Titanic" and with a little luck, Rob will, too. I still say Kristen is a spoiled Hollywood brat and this interview is a mea culpa. ~Chicago girl now in LA.
Great interview glad she cleared it all up before New Moon starts shooting. I love her too and i see you put pics up of her, i guess to show support LOL.
I still think with all the photo shoots, movie, etc. Kristen & Robert make such a gorgeous couple, they actually really really look good together, too bad she has a boyfriend. Anyone else with Rob just does not look right, my opinion.
Okay, this has been a topic of conversation forever and she JUST now decides to set the record straight? I think Summit told her to do it and I don't feel it's 100%real.
She needs to re-read some of her earlier interviews, especially the one she gave to MSN when she called fans who were showing up on the Twilight set "retarded". It's in black and white and impossible to deny! To quote Charlie "Hope that works out for you"!!!
I used to know a guy in school who thought "he was so cool his s**t didn't stink"...that phrase comes to mind with Kristen.
I can't help but feel dismayed by all the negative comments about Kristen. We all have our opinions, but I refuse to be party to this. Robert Pattinson can't fake the fact that he enjoys and is enraptured by her. He has said repeatedly that he admires her acting ability and I have decided to trust and believe him. How can I not? I adore him and he knows her very well :)
Ditto Smitten :)
Ah, Goz, what can I say ~ it's just true love for me *sigh*
Rob's also said that there's an anger behind her quietness...
Hey I think that fans who show up to the set of the movie are "retarded" too. Let them make the movie and get it done. I read that the fans on set actually cause some delays but then again that is Summit's fault because they are telling when and where the movie is being shot at. What happened to a movie being made and then you go watch it at the movies without all the drama of who is cast, where it is or is not being shot at or when it's being released. Kristen just seems like an ordinary girl who is quite a smartass and gives smartass comments but that is what i like about her because i am a little bit like that too, SORRY :)
to have been in THAT bar in Tokyo at that time...sigh
Goz, thank you for posting this and restoring my faith in Kstew! I LOVE her! I'm tired of all these haters. How would anyone deal with all of this sudden attention if you were in her position? Everyone always scrutinizing everything you say all the time. Everyone fucks up now and again and says something that is taken the wrong way. I hate the judgement police. They suck.
Anywho, what I wouldn't give for a video of Rob and Kristen's duet! I can only imagine the nervous hair raking and flirtatious looks bouncing back and forth between them. LOL!
Shall we start a poll?
Who else thinks that showing up at the set causing delays is daft?
I certainly do.
And I also wish fans would stop screaming like mad all the time because a) it hurts my ears, b) it must hurt Rob's ears even more and might even harm his hearing (which is also bad for playing music), c) we could hear everything he says, then, and d) is boring by now.
Can't blame Kristen for not liking the hysterie.
It doesn't matter what Kristen does. People are going to hate on her just for the fact that they aren't her. Jealousy is a nasty emotion. I mean, c'mon, who wouldn't want to be her for a day? Plenty of these people who apparently can't stand her I'm sure.
Just because she intrigues Robert and he has nothing but praise for her a lot of people are going to hate her. It's a shame. I think she is a fine actress. I just watched The Messengers and thought she did a wonderful job in the movie. People are constantly twisting her words. I have to take all the online reporting with a grain of salt. Written words are easily taken out of context without the ability to see facial expressions or hear tone of voice.
And if she gets annoyed sometimes, who the heck can blame her? Some of these fans make me cringe too.
well, she is always making the news right...lol...good or bad she still pull people keep her as shining toys object...
for me, her interview is good thing, it's because she has new film on her plate, cake eaters and adventureland, and i think, looking to her screen perdonality, she didn't like this idea..she is not this open and smile and nice, she is hollywood big head and still is.
I am only hoping her the best, she seem dislike fame and different from other young stars, that makes her different and i like her to being hollywood big head, she still young and could be bratt, why not...
so, it is not effect me, i still trust bella on her hands and her chemistry with rob much, much better and maybe dating...lol..but i just see the fact that what we only talking about the hollywood game and they will keep us interesting with news, rumors, and they paid them to do that...
just be real and keep on dreaming, coz it's hollywood, when everything could be happen..
awesome girl
good girl
agreed with a girl crush
i liked kristin........
Oh.
I thought they were recasting Bella. There was a recent petition for a recast. So many names came up as replacement -- Bledel, Dushku, Leveiva, and other really "nice girls" I can't even remember anymore.
Also, when Kristen was asked recently, she said that she had thought of quitting Twilight. No surprises there! LMAO! With her words constantly lost in translation, she's probably exhausted from having to defend her words all the time. I remember an interview she did last year when Twilight exploded and she and Robert were thrust into the chaos. She was trying to convince herself that all the hype was temporary by saying, "This will all be over soon and I'll be back to doing what I've been doing, which are tiny little independent movies that no one ever sees..."
Of course they found her words arrogant and before long, reporters started calling out to her for being stuck-up, unsmiling, and some kind of a bitch never before seen and heard in the magic kingdom. LMAO!
Now she was made to explain herself again for her "psychotic" comment which clearly in the Nylon article, if anyone bothered to read, was in reference to the 'situation' and not to the fans.
I hope this time, people will just understand that she was not incubated and bred by Disney and will always be unscripted, unguarded, and pain-in-the-ass honest about stuff. I think we should just enjoy her because whether we care to admit it or not, we're all bored shitless watching all these other actresses with their cloned behavior and responses during interviews. Kristen Stewart puts us at the edge of our seats during press tours. Her unpredictability gives us so much material to work with to fuel our putrid hatred or love for her. The girl stirs emotions and makes vital organs come alive. You don't wanna take my word for it? Ask Robert Pattinson. LMAO! The man can't decide what to love or hate about her or whether he can do both by headbutting her into unconsciousness so he can have his way with her. LMAO!
Yup. I'm stuck with adorable Rob in that Le Boite interview. I just watched it again. He's almost perfect in that one.
Best Parts of it -- Rob can't stand Kristen's personality, names the President of France, but can't think of any swear words in French. Yup, Kristen took care of that one answering at the speed of light. LOL! The bitch knows her swear words in any language! LOL!
Now regarding this article by E!:
1) First of all -- Kristen wasn't invited at the Oscars? I'm shocked. But after Beyounce sang with her pre-recorded voice, I realize now that the Academy wanted everything to be perfect. I suppose they couldn't get past Kristen's photo smoking from pipe at her doorstep. LOL!
2) Secondly, where the heck was Taylor Lautner in the karaoke bar? LOL! It was ealier reported that he was there but based on this account by Kristen, it seems that he was not even there at all. Taylor, for the love of God, build the chemistry with Kristen. The whole epic love story can only work if you keep in step with Robert. Do your job. I'm looking forward to 'New Moon' to intensify the heart-wrenching isolation and loneliness brought by the separation between Bella and Edward. Only then can 'Eclispse' work to build up the climax for 'Breaking Dawn'.
3) Third, Stewart and Pattinson covering Elton John's "Your Song" at the karaoke bar. WOW. (Fangirl moment coming up)
Who do I think chose the song? Robert of course. Elton is British and the song is not mainstream. What I like about it is that the lyrics remind me of some of Robert's past answers to questions about Kristen. LOL!
Lyrics please...

Song please...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTa8U0Wa0q8&feature=related
Can you imagine Robert singing this to Kristen? I tried and it was better than the Access Hollywood vids. LOL!
4) And lastly, Kristen on Robert Pattinson and Baz Luhrmann -- "They were looking longingly into each other’s eyes." -- LOL!
Kristen rocks my world! LOL!
Ditto, Merv.
Kristen is even less the Hollywood type than Rob is. Can't blame her for that and how she reacts to it all. Rob is just better at handling all the stress and demands of the job. He goes with the flow. She can't. It's just how she is, apparently. let's not forget - she has stated that if she knew about the hysteria Twilight would create, she would not have taken the role.
And I'll admit and i feel stupid about it, but I'm jealous of her too!
It's just sad and frustrating that some people can't tell that she tries so hard to be earnest in interviews. She fidgets and stutters her way through most of her answers. I think it's kind of endearing that she gives real responses and not some glossed over, watered-down version. Just my opinion. *shrugs*
I agree Crazy, compared to Rob any of us would look out of sorts giving interviews. He's very charismatic. How does Kristen compete with that? Besides, Rob can say anything and get away with it because his fans adoration is absolute. He can do no wrong. I'm included in thinking that by the way. The man can do NO wrong. lol
I always liked Kristen, she never seemed fake to me. She has her opinions and view points about stuff like everyone of us. You may agree or disagree with what she says. Its great that they had fun in Japan, maybe more fun they ever had in this whole Twilight press tour. I don't mean to over analyze her comments, but her setting the record straight about her and Robert doesn't seem that its set in stone. She was very open in her statement, for anyone to make assumptions. Like stating that the fans are preseptive in seeing the closeness. Instead of just saying that no have a boyfriend very committed and never once thought of Robert of any other way than just being friends. Besides that statement in () is from an old interview she did, can't remember where its from have to find it but I do believe that comment was made in the Ryan Seacrest interview. Just wondering if they got it from there. But who knows.
She's not a good Bella. She will bea horrible Joan Jett. I am going to throw up because people like her. Sick..
