Rob's Last Days of Freedom?
The Improper has an article on how it's Rob's last days of freedom in the UK before he heads to US/Vancouver/Italy to start filming New Moon. There is always an article somewhere where they accuse him of being drunk, swaying while he walks etc. The trashy tabloids live for that stuff! They wait for the celebs to mess up so they can write about it. And now Rob is HOT, they know if they write anything it will get hits. As someone that grew up with the pub culture I loved this part of The Improper's article:
Rob, who lives in Los Angeles when he works, has previously mentioned how different L.A. is from London.
"There isn’t really like a pub [culture] in L.A.," he says. "It’s just a very different culture. I think people from L.A. don’t really understand how it’s such a normal thing to be in pubs from a very young age in London. People [in America] just think it’s so strange. I have never really understood it. It seems so normal to me."
Whereas in the United States, a nightclub or bar is oftentimes a place where men and women pick each other up, in England, a pub is a social gathering place where friends meet up to chat and socialize over beer and bar food. In fact, it's not unusual to see children in pubs with their parents since a pub is more of a social gathering spot rather than just a place to get drunk.
Rob, who has been relaxing in London since the Christmas holidays, will soon begin working at feverish pace. In March, he's set to begin filming New Moon, the sequel to Twilight, in Vancouver and in Volterra, Italy. Immediately after shooting wraps, the 6'1" British heartthrob will start working on Eclipse (the sequel to New Moon), so that both installments can be rolled out in consecutive years.
G: So Rob, have a pint(or 5) for us before you head to filming :)

Gah! I wish the tabloids would just leave Rob alone! So what if he likes to go to pubs. He's 22 years old!
I'm with Laura - let the man have some peace and quiet before the filming frenzy starts all over again.
Glad to see him having fun at least. I was at a pub just last night. There's nothing wrong with pub crawling! (Unless you're actually crawling, of course. :p)
So what if he likes to go to pubs?? Give the man a break...and I'm with you on this one Laura..he is only 22 years old.
Hope he gets loads of rest before he heads back this way for New Moon-he's gonna need it...especially with all the fangirls(it's not me, I swear it LOL) and the TwiMoms after him...
You know he's only been out really at the weekends. If you look back over the pics it's only been on the weekends and that is just so normal for any guy his age. You meet your friends in the pubs, that's the way it is in England and here. SO ya hope he has a few more chances to go out and enjoy himself before the all the madness starts up again!!
Not all cities in the US are like LA. In Cleveland we have clubs, but we have many "pub" like bars where family and friends gather to eat, drink, and socialize. My opinion, he's not doing anything we don't normally do here.
I cant believe there's all this chatter about Rob and pubs! He's exactly right ~ it's not at all the same thing as a US "club". I chaperoned a high school band trip to London and we took the entire group to a sit-down dinner at a pub. They were very hospitable and great with the kids. Definitely a wholesome atmosphere. I just don't get it (shrugs).
And in the US, it's just plain fun to go "clubbing" with your BFFs. Right? So, what's the big deal???
I love hearing what each of you have to say. Great to talk to you Laura, Ana Cristina, MelissaB, Kate and Anon...
I'm kinda new at this ~ you each have cool orange "B"s before your beautiful blue underlined names! I know I'm lame, but I want one too. What is that all about and how do I get "fancy" like you?
I totally with agree with comments about pubs in England vs. bars/clubs in LA (or major cities for that fact). I lived in England for a big part of my young adult life. I was going to pubs for lunch at the age of 12. As I got older I continued to meet my friends at the pubs. Sometimes for lunch/dinner and other times to just tie one on. There is nothing wrong with it... it's simply the culture. With that being said, I think it's time for a beer! Cheers!!
Cheers, to you, Bootstrap!!!
