Thank you Goz! This is a great way to start my work day. I haven't had a chance to say hi to you in awhile and I'm happy for you that you're able to be back home in Turkey with your family!
This is really an interesting "favorite choice" for Rob. I've always enjoyed Van Morrison, but of course, my interest has been raised because of Rob. I've been checking out VMs stuff on YouTube and am looking forward to the release of the new Astral Weeks album as it was recorded at the Hollywood Bowl when Rob & his castmates went.

You can hear how much Rob is influenced by Van in his own music and even though I wasn't the biggest fan of Robs music (don't kill me) the more I'm playing the ST the more I'm liking it. I think my main problem was that I couldn't understand what he was saying but now i'm LOVING "Never think" and must get "Let me Sign" form Itunes. Actually does anyone know in the Irish Itunes store the extra tracks are not listed does that mean we don't get them??? or do they automatically come??
Back to Van, my Dad's fave Van track was this one http://smej.se/days_like_this_van_morrison.48b9 so whenever I hear it I think of him!

The first time I heard Rob sing, I immediately thought of Van...Hubby and I have been fans for a long time.
Urrghh it's lashing rain here and my plans for cleaning the house are not going well. I had to unblock a drain and now I found out there's a comp running to win a trip to Forks Washington !!!!:-0 it's running all week on the radio so I've missed 2 days so I'm gona do the ironing so I can listen to the radio, have to wait until he gives out the test number, haven't a hope in hell but I HAVE to enter!!LOL

I just wanted to say I was moved by your bio especially in your interests.
Especially when you said waves and the colors of water, etc.
And that you are also interested in the Hollywood Bowl recording of VM's two day performance there, that was recorded.
I so wish I would of just went down because I had wanted to and I let the distance keep me from going.
I don't think I'll let that happen so much again.
Another one of my favorite musicians, who is in the UK, James Morrison is in San Francisco in January and I'm not missing it.

There's really no competition between the two.

I used to rent that movie all the time. And I was jealous that I would never be able to get my hair to do that. I have very fine hair that doesn't even want to stay in braids.
OT, but I'm trying to convince one of my assistants to go to the movie with me over the Christmas vacation. Her daughter's seen it, so she's interested. I keep gushing about it...actually, about Rob (duh!). :)

I have to mention, too, that in your bio you list To Sir, With Love as one of your fav movies. I can't believe I forgot to list that in mine. My great-grandmother took me to see it when I was probably too young to see it (she was very forward thinking for a great-gram!). My kids know of that movie because I still go around singing the title song, pretending I'm Lulu. :-) It's a brilliant movie.

for some of you who are "new" Van Morrison fans because of Rob need to know there are 2 versions of this song that he sings. An LP and Album version.
Aside from the lyrics, the guitar melody of this song makes it especially beautiful to me...
