Robert Pattinson's Cosmopolis Wins MTV's Craaaaazy Poll

Robert Pattinson's Cosmopolis Wins MTV's Craaaaazy Poll

UPDATE: Sarah Gadon, Rob's Cosmopolis co-star, tweeted thanks to the fans that voted.

UPDATE: Video added. Really awesome comments from Paul Giamatti about the win and Rob :)

You guys are definitely aware of the wild and crazy MTV Movie Brawl poll for the film you're most excited for in 2012. Well.....

Photobucket

COSMOPOLIS WON!!! Rob took all other competitors down!

Photobucket

Cosmopolis was a wild card pick meaning it wasn't even in the inital list MTV had. It was nominated into the competition. It beat Rob's other film, Bel Ami (by only 3 votes!) and took out guaranteed box office successes, Breaking Dawn Part 2 (another Rob film) and Dark Knight Rises.

Eric: I eat bat for breakfast.
Photobucket

Then it was time for big battle against the next powerhouse franchise, The Hunger Games. Those fans know about survival and fighting. It wasn't easy and the poll was always tight. The lead swung up and down like a see-saw allllll weekend.

Photobucket

But Rob fans prevailed!!! MTV should be renamed to RTV.
Are you proud??

Photobucket

This was very cool to have Cosmopolis get this kind of support and free publicity.
I'm exhausted now. Go have a pint and think about how awesome it is to be a Rob fan.

Photobucket

Now if only we could get a trailer...lol

2 MTV articles about the win after the cut!

David Cronenberg talks Cosmopolis win to MTV: "[Robert Pattinson fans] won't be disappointed. He is fantastic."

Photobucket

Robert Pattinson's Cosmopolis co-stars, Paul Giamatti & Sarah Gadon, praised the win in MTV Movie Brawl yesterday and thanked fans. MTV reached out David Cronenberg and got some of the best quotes ever from the critically acclaimed director.

From MTV:

Eric Packer is about to embark upon the worst car ride of his life. Thankfully, Robert Pattinson — the actor who plays Packer in "Cosmopolis" — doesn't share his character's fate.

Pattinson fans came out in full force to elect "Cosmopolis" the winner of the MTV Movie Brawl 2012, a weeks-long tournament that pitted several of 2012's biggest releases against one another to determine which film is the must-see cinematic event of the year. After tense battles against titans like "Bel Ami," "The Twilight Saga - Breaking Dawn: Part 2," "The Dark Knight Rises" and "The Hunger Games," it's Pattinson's upcoming indie thriller that took home the grand prize.

It's a surprising result for many onlookers, given that "Cosmopolis" has yet to release a trailer and only has a tentative release date of 2012. But Rob's fans rallied behind their man, opting to support his future in "Cosmopolis" over his past in "Twilight" — a commanding decision from a massive fanbase that demands attention, to say the least. In fact, the movement was so strong that it even caught "Cosmopolis" director David Cronenberg's eye even before the film won the brawl for it all. Shortly after the victory was announced, Cronenberg got on the phone with MTV News to talk about what "Cosmopolis" winning the MTV Movie Brawl means for the film, Pattinson's performance, when fans can expect to see a trailer and much more.

MTV: David, thanks for talking with us! Have you been filled in on what's happened with "Cosmopolis" over here?

David Cronenberg: You know, I've been following it! I'm shocked! I'm shocked and amazed and really tickled. It proves that movie fans are unpredictable and really interesting and really passionate. It's fantastic. I would have never, ever imagined that this would happen.

MTV: How did the tournament first get on your radar?

Cronenberg: Somebody sent me something and said, "Hey, we seem to be doing OK in this Movie Brawl thing that MTV's got going on." I didn't know about it. At that point, we were struggling with "The Dark Knight," I think. I thought, "Wow, that's pretty impressive!" Because "Cosmopolis," while I think in terms of what it is as cinema is pretty hefty, but in terms of budget and promotion, it's an underdog compared to something like "The Dark Knight" franchise. I really didn't think we would have much of a chance. That really got my attention.

MTV: What's kind of incredible, too, is that right before that battle with Batman, "Cosmopolis" was up against "Twilight." It was Rob versus Rob! In what we saw, it seemed that fans were putting their votes towards Rob's future instead of his past.

Cronenberg: Well, and I think that's one of the things that I meant when I said it was interesting. Because that's not the kind of thing you would predict. But it was really terrific, and in that sense, they're right. As I've said many times, if you're a "Twilight" fan, then you might not be interested in "Cosmopolis" because Rob is not Mr. Cullen. But if you're a Rob fan, then you've got to be interested in "Cosmopolis," because you will see him as you have not seen him before, for sure.

MTV: Clearly, there is a lot of interest in this movie, seeing that it came out ahead over movies like "Dark Knight," "Twilight" and "Hunger Games." There is a lot of attention on Rob, of course. Can you talk about your experience working with Rob, and the kind of actor you found him to be over the course of shooting "Cosmopolis"?

Cronenberg: He's terrific. He deserves the affection that the fans have for him. He's incredibly sweet, he's very funny, he's very bright and he's also very knowledgeable about cinema. Not just movies but the history of cinema. He knows a lot about it. He's just a sweetheart. And he's totally professional. He's always right there. We had a lot of fun shooting [the movie] because, as I say, he has a great sense of humor. We just played a lot. I think that's a really great tone that's set for everybody on the set. The lead actor has a really big influence on the tone of the shoot. If you've got a guy who's very difficult and neurotic or whatever, they can't help but affect everybody's day. But Rob is not like that. He's just a ray of sunshine. In fact, he's in absolutely every scene of the movie, so obviously his temperament would have a huge influence on how the shoot went ... and it was a dream. It was a beautiful shoot.

MTV: I think one of the reasons why some are surprised with how this tournament played out is that most of the films that were competing have trailers. This one doesn't — at least not yet! When can fans expect to see a trailer?

Cronenberg: We feel probably that this won't be released until next fall. It's not exactly a summer movie and it won't be ready for a while. The movie is finished, but something that fans maybe don't know is how long it takes a movie to get released. You want to do a couple of film festivals, the studios in each country have to get their materials ready. The photographs, the trailers, everything ... it takes a lot of time, you know? The other thing is, we kind of want to keep things a little bit of a secret until we unleash it on the world. We're pretty excited about it and we don't really want to let too much out about what it is and how it plays.

MTV: In terms of when this is coming out, you said perhaps fall of this year. So there's no firm release date just yet?

Cronenberg: No, not at all. It's been sold to a lot of countries and distributors around the world, but for example, it does not yet have U.S. distribution. That's fine, because we didn't want to look for it until we had the finished film. But frankly, the Movie Brawl results might well help us get some good U.S. distribution! [He laughs.] I just thought of that, but you know, it's possible! It's interesting to hear that indication of interest before you even release a trailer — that's pretty darn good. But you can't release a trailer until you have a distributor, and a distributor has to really have all the material, so it takes a while.

MTV: Well, something close to 6 million votes were cast in this tournament, and almost 4 million were cast in this final poll alone. The numbers do not lie.

Cronenberg: That's fantastic. That's just great. That's just great.

MTV: In the spirit of this tournament, what's the movie you're most excited to see in 2012? What's the film you can't wait to get your eyes on?

Cronenberg: You know, I'm so focused on what I've been doing that I actually don't know what's around! It's strange. I haven't even caught up with last year's films. I have a movie out now called "A Dangerous Method" with Keira Knightley, Michael Fassbender and Viggo Mortensen. I've been touring the world promoting that, been to a ton of film festivals, but I haven't had a chance to see any of the movies, because I'm constantly having to do interviews and stuff for that. Now, that's calmed down now that the movie has finally been released in the U.S., but the result is that I'm way behind on everything.

MTV: So you've got to catch up on 2011 before moving onto 2012.

Cronenberg: That's right! Let me catch up first, and then I'll start thinking about 2012.

MTV: Finally, any last messages to the "Cosmopolis" fans who pushed this movie to the top?

Cronenberg: They won't be disappointed in Rob. He is fantastic.
Again...great voting work you guys :)

Blast from the past - Robert Pattinson and Cosmopolis win the MTV movie brawl

You know you've moved into the later stages of ROBsession with Robert Pattinson when this next image is still embedded in your brain.

For those of you who don't remember it was the voting screen for The Rover in the MTV Movie Brawl in 2014.  Unfortunately The Rover did not go on to win the competition in a year that 'Maps to the Stars' was also in the competition.

But it was 'Cosmopolis' that caused the big upset of the 2012 MTV Movie Brawl by beating The Hunger Games.  Seeing Rob collect his award made all those clicks worth it!! You have to watch the clip to see how much Rob loved it......

And hearing what David Cronenberg had to say still makes me a very proud fan ....

MTV: David, thanks for talking with us! Have you been filled in on what’s happened with “Cosmopolis” over here?
David Cronenberg: You know, I’ve been following it! I’m shocked! I’m shocked and amazed and really tickled. It proves that movie fans are unpredictable and really interesting and really passionate. It’s fantastic. I would have never, ever imagined that this would happen.

Robert Pattinson's Cosmopolis gathers more attention for the win in MTV Movie Brawl

Robert Pattinson's Cosmopolis gathers more attention for the win in MTV Movie Brawl

Photobucket

The main post has a lot going on and I wanted you guys to read this so a fresh post it is.

From Page MacKinkley at Gather.com:
Tighter than Kim Kardashian's prenup and possibly just as viciously fought, MTV's 2012 Movie Brawl finally closed voting at 5 p.m. today. The result, debated and clawed over throughout Twitterland, Facebook and the blogosphere, is now in: The battle royale that was Cosmopolis v The Hunger Games is over - and Cosmopolis won!

After more than 3 million votes, Cosmopolis swung the day with a decisive 53.78 % win over the 46.22 % managed by The Hunger Games (THG). Earlier rounds before the two-film face-off included: Ridley Scott's Prometheus, Daniel Radcliffe's Woman in Black, Bel Ami (RPattz again), Dark Knight Rises, Snow White and The Huntsman, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, and even Breaking Dawn Part 2. But eventually the final contenders came down to THG and the leading man of the Twilight Saga franchise - Robert Pattinson. But, of course, only one movie can rule them all. And, as it turns out - that movie was David Cronenberg's highly anticipated Cosmopolis.

The road to the top wasn't pretty though. Closer than close percentages between Cosmopolis and THG saw both films slug it out for front position with THG leading a lot of the time, until fierce voting by RPattz's fanbase forced a 180. Figures hovered around the 48.5 to 51% mark for most of the brawl. 24 hours before the final day of the contest, Cosmopolis malingered in sorry second to THG, holding at 48.82 % at 10 p.m. (ET) while TGH led the way at 51.18%.

But by today's final countdown, less than 11 hours later, THG's lead was clearly fading. Today at 06:25 a.m. (ET) Cosmopolis pushed up to 49.58% while THG hung on at 50.42 %. Then, today, less than 6 hours later, at midday (ET), Cosmopolis high-kicked into the lead at 52.24 %, while THG held at 47.76%. Two and a half hours before MTV rang the bell, at 2:30 p.m. (ET), Cosmopolis's lead was well established at 53.14 % with THG flagging at 46.86%. Then, a final push by Pattinson fans drove the lead up to 53.78% - and only one was left standing.
(...)
Up and down the comments page at MTV's 2012 Movie Brawl, a war of words raged between the two camps. Accusations of cheating, rigging, and hacking went back and forth across the blogosphere - but in the end the result was clear and perfectly fair. Here's the amazing part: Even without a trailer, promotion, or any of the vast resources Lionsgate has thrown at THG; the passion and affection Pattinson fans have for a young actor on the verge of definitively proving his serious acting mettle on the world stage - delivered an indie film called Cosmopolis to Victory.

David and Goliath, eat your heart out.

Robert Pattinson Standing Tall in the MTV Movie Brawl

Kate posted the news and how to vote yesterday but MTV posted a great article today about the Cosmopolis win over Breaking Dawn Part 2.

Robert Pattinson Stands Tall In MTV Movie Brawl

Wow. Just ... wow.

In an upset for the ages, "Cosmopolis" defeated "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" in the Elite Eight round of the 2012 MTV Movie Brawl. Let us count the ways this is shocking. One, it's a freaking "Twilight" film, one in a franchise that has so far grossed $2.5 billion worldwide and has catalyzed 2.5 trillion fever dreams in teen bedrooms around the globe. Two, "Cosmopolis" is a little indie based on a slim, highbrow novel by Don DeLillo, a writer who has, without a doubt, changed the face of postmodern literature but whose themes, characters and erudition don't exactly make him a likely Twi-fan fave. And three, "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" had thus far stormed through the Movie Brawl, dispatching challengers with ease and becoming the odds-on favorite to win the entire tournament.

But a curious thing happened — and its name is Robert Pattinson. Fans banded together, deciding to support, in "Cosmopolis," RPattz's new work (a possible post-vampire breakout role under the direction of David Cronenberg), rather than his been-there, sucked-that performance in a "Twilight" flick. The result, after almost 400,000 votes, was a decisive victory for "Cosmopolis." "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" will have to find some way to console itself (perhaps a mega opening in the fall will help), while Pattinson's upcoming film moves on to face "The Dark Knight Rises" in the Final Four.

Read the rest of the article HERE at the source and don't forget to VOTE for Cosmopolis against The Dark Knight Rises.

MTV talks about Robert Pattinson's dedicated fans "in it for the long haul"

MTV talks about Robert Pattinson's dedicated fans "in it for the long haul"

MTV posted another article about the Cosmopolis win in the MTV Movie Brawl. More praise for Rob and his dedicated fans (aka you guys!).

Photobucket

From MTV/Kara Warner:
How Did 'Comopolis' Top 'Twilight' In Our Movie Brawl? This week's 'Twilight' Tuesday takes a closer look at why fans chose Robert Pattinson's indie over 'Breaking Dawn - Part 2.'

Over the course of the "Twilight Saga" movies, we at MTV News have come a long way in understanding the franchise's very passionate fanbase. So when we launched the MTV Movie Brawl 2012, I thought there was a very good chance "Twilight" fans would vote "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" through to the championship round and into the championship slot, no problem.

I was wrong. "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" was ousted early, in the second round, by eventual champ "Cosmopolis." Yes, the two films share a very popular star in Robert Pattinson, but compared with the millions upon millions of "Twilight" fans who have read all of Stephenie Meyer's books, we're guessing not as many are familiar with "Cosmopolis" through its source material by Don DeLillo.

So here's what I think: All of you wonderfully dedicated Pattinson fans are in it for the long haul. You're choosing to grow and evolve right along with Pattinson and the ebbs and flows of his chosen profession. That sentiment is exemplified perfectly by this poignant comment by MTV community member and Pattinson fan, Lior: "VOTE COSMOPOLIS! Support Rob's new, professional career! SEE HIS TALENT BEYOND TWILIGHT."

Not that the excitement for the final chapter in "The Twilight Saga" has lessened in any way, of course, but because there's more mystery surrounding "Cosmopolis," it is the more intriguing of the two films.

And let's not forget about Pattinson's other upcoming film, "Bel Ami," which only narrowly lost to "Cosmopolis" in that first round. I would have thought the interest in seeing RPattz's bare behind on the big screen would have easily trumped the film about a fully clothed young finance wiz taking a day-long limo ride though New York City.
Consider me very pleasantly surprised.
Love it. The last paragraph is one of the reasons I was pleased it was Cosmopolis that carried the torch forward.
Shiny happy Tink after the cut!

Yes people, it's time, it's time.

It's time for the final of the MTV Movie Brawl and it's all come down to just 2 movies
left standing, "Cosmopolis" & "The Hunger Games".

Rob started out the competition with not one, not two but THREE movies!

Photobucket

But it felt like MTV were doing everything possible to get rid of Rob's movies by pitting them up against each other not once but TWICE!

Photobucket

First by putting "Cosmopolis" up against "Bel Ami" & then putting "Cosmopolis" up against "Breaking Dawn Part 2".

Photobucket

It totally blew their minds when "Cosmopolis" knocked "Breaking Dawn" out of the running.
They couldn't understand how this indie movie (a wildcard) had knocked out one of the big blockbusters.

Photobucket

"Cosmopolis" has been the surprise of the competition (for MTV not for us) and MTV have only come to realise that Rob's fan base have come out in force to show their support for his new projects.
Let's show these people there's life after "Twilight" and we'll be there for Rob!

So it's all down to this one last vote ROB NEEDS YOU, "COSMOPOLIS" NEEDS YOU.

UPDATE: Rob's stunt double talks about his experience on Bel Ami (source via):

How did you become the double of Rob in Bel Ami?
In 2010 I was the Hungarian X-Factor promo’s face and they observed me and called the Bel Ami’s casting. I tried and I got the role. Then they asked me that if I wanted to be Robert’s double, and I said: Of course:)
How was this experience? Did you enjoy it?
It was amazing! To play whit such a great actors! Robert and me act in a scene together! He is a very good actor, and very kind!
Can you tell us a funny story about Rob?
Actually I don’t remember! Once, I asked him if  he knows Natalie Portman, and they are in good friendship. But he just laughed on this…
What is your favorite movies played by Robert Pattinson? And Why?
I  love Little Ashes! My favourite painter is Dali, and Robert was a Great Dali!
Could you describe us your relationship with the fans on set?
No! there was very exacting safety-rules.
~~~~~
A few mentions of Rob out there in the circuits. First up is Mia Maestro from Breaking Dawn. She played Carmen and had this to say to Peril (with translated questions):
She had been asked if Rob and Kris are partners in real life: "That's what you have to ask them. But yes, they are super open, super friendly."
Then Mia talks about coexistence outside the set: "We had departments where we could cook, I was much more home than you can think, and we eat among all together, we cooked."
Pattinson? "He does not cook, the cook is Kristen."
Photobucket
And Taylor Lautner? "I did not meet him so much, because we did not share many scenes. But I can tell you that Taylor, when I took my dog to the shooting, looked after him and played with him."
Who is more beautiful, then? "I can't answer you. Robert is very nice."
Haha!
~~~~~
Madeline Stowe briefly spoke with El Pais about Unbound Captives and dropped Rob's name. No idea if this project is progressing in a more concrete sense:
EP: You are one of the many recent examples of movie actresses that have done their best work ever on television.

Stowe: Today you have the opportunity to do something that you couldn’t before – which is to work both in movies and on TV. The stigma is gone. You have to be realistic and understand how hard it is for an actress my age to find work in film. So I stopped working for a long season. I’m focused on working on a project that I wrote and I plan to direct called Unbound Captives with Hugh Jackman, Rachel Weisz and Robert Pattinson.

Josh and his MTV buddies give a synopsis of the polling bracket and talk Breaking Dawn, Bel Ami & Cosmopolis. Do you agree with their analysis?

From MTV:
It's Robert Pattinson versus Robert Pattinson in our second match of the MTV Movie Brawl 2012, presenting a seemingly impossible choice for RPattz lovers. How do you decide between one movie over the other? It comes down to which of the two projects piques your interest more: "Cosmopolis," the surrealist thriller from visionary auteur David Cronenberg, or "Bel Ami," the adaptation of Guy de Maupassant's novel that sees Rob locking lips with Uma Thurman and Kristin Scott Thomas. It's a difficult decision, one we certainly don't envy. All the same, we're more than a bit curious to see the outcome…

Get Those Voting Fingers Out For Robert Pattinson

SO as we told you the other day MTV pitted Robert against himself by getting us to vote on either "Cosmopolis" or "Breaking Dawn Part 1"

Well the results are in and the winner in that round was "Cosmopolis" !!
So now it's time to get those voting fingers out again for the next round in the Movie Brawl.

"Cosmopolis" is up against "The Dark Knight" (and at the time of writing this "Cosmopolis" was well ahead) BUT come on people VOTE VOTE VOTE for ROB!!!

From MTV

Against all odds, defying all expectations, "The Twilight Saga" is no more… in the MTV Movie Brawl 2012, that is.

In the second Robert Pattinson vs. Robert Pattinson duel of this competition, it was the fan-favorite "Breaking Dawn: Part 2" that went down for the count, despite its status as the top vote getter in the initial play-in round and its performance in the Sweet 16. Rob's fans have made a grand statement by pushing "Cosmopolis" into the Final Four over "Twilight," showing that the majority of them are more invested in the actor's unknown future than his sparkly-skinned past.
(Kate:Hell YA!)

"Cosmopolis" beating "Breaking Dawn" is easily the upset of the tournament so far, but is there enough momentum to defeat "The Dark Knight Rises," Christopher Nolan's final dance with the Bat? Batman is a fearsome foe indeed, proving unexpectedly strong against both "The Avengers" and "Dark Shadows." If Gotham City can rally behind their hero one more time, Batman could well beat Rpattz for a trip to the final round.
(Kate: Not if WE have anything to do with it)

Welp. It was a stupid poll to begin with. Each time I voted for one, I turned around and voted for the other. I couldn't choose. What's awesome is the attention these two small films are getting from this maddening poll. Thank Rob for that.

Rob fans want to see these films badly. Both of them equally. The final results show that. So does the reveal of how many votes separated the two films. From MTV:
The MTV Movie Brawl 2012 is officially on! After the initial play-in, wild card and Sweet 16 rounds, only eight movies remain to compete in a series of head-to-head single elimination matches in our March Madness-style bracket. In the end, only one of these flicks can be crowned the can't-miss movie of the year, and the choice is entirely up to YOU. Which movie will win the brawl for it all? Vote at MTV Movies Blog and make your choice known!

If you thought the choice between "Cosmopolis" and "Bel Ami" was difficult, it gets worse. Robert Pattinson fans were literally divided in half with the seemingly impossible decision, ultimately voting the David Cronenberg thriller into the Elite Eight by only three votes. (Tink: Did you see that? THREE.)

Not exactly a wide margin! Still, if it was that hard to choose between two indie Pattinson projects, how can fans possibly pick between "Cosmopolis" and the final round of the "Twilight" films? On the one hand, "Cosmopolis" represents the next stage in Rob's career, a life after "Twilight." On the other hand… it's "Breaking Dawn," guys! The grand finale! It's what we've all been waiting for! Not an easy decision, to say the least, but it's a decision that needs to be made all the same. Good luck, voters — you're going to need it.

And you guys think my Torture Tuesdays are bad. Will it be Invincible Edward or Eric & Nancy???

While you're voting, I would suggest voting for John Carter too, if you catch my drift. If Cosmopolis is the chosen one, be ready for one helluva battle.
Final Four round begins Tuesday, Jan. 17th but be alert because the cutoff for the Elite Eight will likely be the evening of Jan. 16th. Silver lining? Rob will DEFINITELY be in the Final Four ;)

Robert Pattinson's co-star, Jay Baruchel, says Cosmopolis won't be seen by Team Edward girls

Robert Pattinson's co-star, Jay Baruchel, says Cosmopolis won't be seen by Team Edward girls

UPDATE: Youtube :)

Right...it'll be seen by the Team Edward women. I'm Team Rob so that means I'm Team Edward & Team Eric. ;)

Here's the write up on MTV for those that can't see the video:
David Cronenberg's next film, "Cosmopolis," may have won MTV's Movie Brawl thanks to the support of die-hard Robert Pattinson fans, but one of his co-stars told MTV News the film will be far from what Twilighters are expecting.

While promoting "Goon," a film he stars in and co-wrote, Jay Baruchel shared his experiences working for a short period of time on the Manhattan set of "Cosmopolis." Unfortunately for the Pattinson fans out there, according to Baruchel, Cronenberg's next movie might be too strange for them.

"An exceedingly strange movie," Baruchel said, describing "Cosmopolis." "All the Team Edward girls won't be seeing this one, I don't think."

For Baruchel, working with Cronenberg — who made a name for himself with horror films — was a dream come true. "Basically, it was that Cronenberg is a hero of mine. I'm a Canadian boy. I love horror. That's all I want to do," Baruchel said. "If you're a Canadian horror fan, Cronenberg's the Holy Grail."

The opportunity for Baruchel came about in a rather mundane way, but his reaction to it was anything but. "I was in Manhattan last year, keeping my lady company, and they called up and were like, 'Hey, do you want to do two days on this new Cronenberg?' I said, 'Yep!' 'Wait, wait. We'll send you the script.' I couldn't care less; what I'm playing is a means to an end. I just want to go and film-nerd-out about 'Videodrome' with him for two days."

The actual experience of working with Cronenberg did not disappoint. "Not only did I get to go and be a fly on the wall for two days and watch one of my heroes do his thing, I actually had the pleasure being directed by him," Baruchel said. "Coolest thing ever."

Robert Pattinson is just a pawn... red carpet interview with MTV

Joshua Horowitz spoke to Rob on the red carpet at tonight's Cosmopolis NY Premiere.

It's been a long time coming, but we are finally going to see Robert Pattinson tackle his most adult and challenging role yet in David Cronenberg's "Cosmopolis."

Based on Don DeLillo's novel of the same name, the action-packed thriller and #1 most-anticipated movie in our MTV Movie Brawl follows a day in the life of young billionaire financier Eric Packer (Pattinson) in the not-too-distant future as he's chauffeured through Manhattan on his way to get a haircut and his world is falling apart around him.

POLL: What Robert Pattinson film are you looking forward to him completing in 2014?

POLL: What Robert Pattinson film are you looking forward to him completing in 2014?

With less than 24 hours to go in the heated Round 2 MTV Movie Brawl (CLICK HERE TO VOTE), I know you guys might be poll'd out but I was curious about the ROBsessed consensus on something we covered during 365DoR for Rob's workload in 2013.

If all goes according to plan, Rob will be filming 5 movies in the first 6 months of the year! It's an ambitious calendar but we're not complaining. All work and no play hardly makes Rob a dull boy. So of all the films, which one are you looking forward to the most? I know we want them alllllll but which story/character do you have your fingers and toes crossed that it stays on Rob's schedule?

Queen of the Desert - filming now, Rob will play T.E. Lawrence in Werner Herzog's story about Gertrude Bell. Rob is in a supporting role but he's playing an iconic character and with a director he considers a genius.
 photo coolstuff.gif
Life - filming to start in February, Rob will play Dennis Stock, the Life magazine photographer famous for showing an intimate look into the life of James Dean. Rob is in a leading role as we see him play a straight-laced man chasing a rebellious rising star which leads to an unexpected friendship. Fun trivia: The Life script was written by Luke Davies - housemate of David MichĂ´d, Rob's The Rover director.

Mission: Blacklist - filming scheduled for the second quarter, Rob will play real-life hero, Eric Maddox. Another leading role, Rob dives into the historical tale of how a young, brilliant military interrogator assisted in the capturing of Saddam Hussein.

The Childhood of a Leader - filming scheduled for May, not much is known about Rob's role in this film yet but it tracks the childhood of a World War 1 leader. We also know that the movie will reunite Rob with his Cosmopolis co-star, Juliette Binoche, and is the directorial debut of Brady Corbet. Fun Trivia: Brady Corbet was at Rob's Cosmopolis premiere in NYC.

The Lost City of Z - filming this summer, Rob will keep his trend going and play in another true story. We don't know his role in this film either but it's an adventure tale set in the 1920s. Rob will find himself working with another director he admires greatly - James Gray.

We love and support all of Rob's films and can't wait for them to grace the big screen!
