Robert Pattinson talks about Queen of the Desert and the role being expanded just for him
Thompson on Hollywood chatted with Rob about his next projects and Queen of the Desert was talked about. An excerpt:
Rob Pattinson changed out of his green suit before coming to the party with wearing a more casual red sweater and baseball cap, saying he has three movies to shoot befiore he even gets to "Queen of the Desert," in which he plays T.E. Lawrence opposite Naomi Watts' Gertude Bell.
"I wanted to work with Werner Herzog," he told me. He has no idea if he'll go blond to play Lawrence fo Arabia. And the role is being expanded for him. First he has to get through David Michod's "The Rover."
This might be The Rover, Mission: Blacklist and Maps To The Stars before QotD. We'll see how all the productions pan out but how awesome that the role was expanded for Rob! The filmmakers know they got a great thing going for them. ;)
Thanks smurfy_tapz!

Im happy for my dear Robert Pattinson!!
Ah - we were confused whether QotD or MB was this spring. It sounds like QotD is maybe in the summer/fall, and Mission Blacklist is more like the spring/summer. It will be quite a heavy load he's carrying next year, but then we get lots of Pattinson movies in 2014!! :D
thank youTink for posting this! Great to know, he specially wanted to work with Herzog!... and more expanded is his part, more happy we are!
I am jumping up and down like a schoolgirl, I am thrilled that Robert's role is expanded for QotD. Rob I am so proud of you dude, you are the man of 2013, no question, with all these productions, my only prayer and hope is that they are not delayed so you will need to drop out of one of them.
I'm so happy for him and can't wait to see!!!
Very excited for all his upcoming projects. As much as I enjoyed the Twi movies, I'm actually looking forward to him moving on with his career. Diversity is always more interesting.
Rob wanting small supporting roles so he can have a breather of carrying a film sometimes doesn't go that way. Can't blame the people behind the QotD expanding his role. When you have Rob at your disposal,it's almost a crime not to fully utilize that talent to full extent..
The more I see the suit the better I like it. I liked it when I thought it was just green. Rob is definitely a spiffy dress, and It's nice he has some say in the suits he wears. Rob is still linked to The Band and Hate Mail. Although there are no contracts signed, yet.
This is just more magnificent confirmation that these movies are happening.
What more could we ask for ..I' m so happy right now!
Now I may have to get me a boyfriend to drive me to the far-away theaters if they don't play
near enough to drive myself...This is just one reason I'll be hoping for wider-release..lol
And for us too...He makes the movies..we reap the benefits!
Absofreakinglutely!
for some reason I am most excited for this movie.
This is very exciting. You know you've made it when directors expand their roles for you.
Goodness I am so excited about all his upcoming movies especially this one, QOTD, and The Rover !!!
HI SONJA -- I just giggled when you said "I am so happy right now" -- I always say that when I am sitting in a movie theater and a Rob movie (ANY Rob movie) is about to start -- One of my favorite phrases! -- and these upcoming movies, so hard to choose which one is more exciting!? -- I'm still of the mindset that David Cronenberg and Rob are a fabulous combo -- together, they are dynamite and David such a sweetheart to Rob and a very inspiring mentor -- SO looking forward to the following year and Rob in so many great roles! It will be the HAPPIEST of New Years -- welcome mat out to 2013 and Robert-to-the-max!
Isn't it amazing how we can be so excited over his work schedule! Just love him so much..
Can he possibly know how happy he makes us? I love the idea of him checkin' out this blog.
And you are so right, Elena..2013 is lookin' real good for us Robsessed ladies!
