Nice cover!
And the german title is not even that bad as they use to be.
Don´t know if I´ll buy it, already have my copy of the movie, though it would be funny to hear his german voice :-).

Could someone give the english equivalent of the German title? Curious. I know a context from seeing a play but couldn't think of best equivalent. Thanks. :)

Maybe it's something like 'That's the way the cookie crumbles'

You can not translate it one to one, but I will do my best ;) :

'Life is not a musical request programme', is the translation word by word.
Sounds horrible? Yes, it does.

Nadine, thank you. Yes, I was aware of the literal translation but like you say, not so good! :)

@ A & nadine: It's a German idiom. During a Wunschkonzert the musicians play the tunes the audience wants to hear resp. the radio station plays the tunes the listeners requested. Basically this idiom means something like the old Rolling Stones song You can't always get what you want, cause you get tunes and melodies you didn't ask for at all.

As to the German DVD title, it's called "Das Leben ist (k)ein Wunschkonzert" - "Life is (not) a Wunschkonzert", implying that sometimes it well is.

@Phosphorus: Thank you for the explanation. I knew it was an idiom but couldn't quite suss what the english phrase would be and how it worked as a title. Get it now and like it. :)
